2019 Land Rover Defender Reborn As A Modern 4x4 With Advanced Tech

Land Rover has just unveiled its all-new Defender at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, breathing new life into a legendary nameplate that can now stand toe to toe with the world鈥檚 most technologically-advanced off-roaders. 2 seating in four distinct Accessory Packs: Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban. It will be joined later in 2020 on by the short-wheelbase Defender 90 and the Commercial model. The automaker claims the 2020 Defender is the toughest and most capable Land Rover vehicle yet as it combines a new body structure with all-new technologies and proven hardware to make the nameplate fit for the 21st century. Styling-wise, the new model is unmistakably a Defender, albeit one that has undergone a complete overhaul inside and out. It features minimal front and rear overhangs and high sills for excellent approach and departure angles, an upright stance and Alpine light windows in the roof, side-hinged rear tailgate, and externally-mounted spare wheel. It may be modern but the 2020 Defender looks tough at the same time thanks to the sculptured fenders on top of the square wheel arches and strong shoulders.

There are 10 types of people in this world: Those who understand binary, and those who don鈥檛. Can I make a suggestion? Could you confuse some people by removing the LAND ROVER letters and re-badging it as a LAND RANGER or a RANGER ROVER. In fact I like RANGER ROVER, that will totally screw with the RR psyche. Heated seats. heated screen, F&R Parking sensors, auto wipers, auto lights, full leather. D4 heated steering wheel, airbag and switches, Brembo RRS 4 pots and discs, Dave's aftermarket sat nav install, Aftermarket head unit, Rear parking cam, Powerful UK grill replacement, De-tangoed and painted head lights. Can I make a suggestion? Could you confuse some people by removing the LAND ROVER letters and re-badging it as a LAND RANGER or a RANGER ROVER. In fact I like RANGER ROVER, that will totally screw with the RR psyche. Well the moment of truth arrived at about 1720 our time (MDT) when we tried to start the engine and it went like a charm. Engine runs like a clock but now I have to read the owners manual to figure out how the air suspension works, as this photo shows, I have not got a clue, also registering/activating the IIDTool, tomorrow will be busy! Sensational the project enb 54! Looking forward to seeing finished. About the talvers bags be the case of only calibralas with a walking pressure and to be happy! 54 How much is the project costing so far? 3,684 in United States Dollars or Brazilian Real 14749.72. This includes the original price of the LR3 and the Ranger engine, plus all supplies so far.

Range Rover production notches up its 500 000th vehicle in May. The Freelander is face-lifted with new, Land Rover trademark 鈥榩ocketed鈥?headlights, external design revisions and an upgraded interior. Land Rover runs the first 鈥楲and Rover G4 Challenge鈥? an extreme adventure competition using specially-adapted Range Rovers, Discoverys and Freelanders, with Defenders as support vehicles. The Land Rover is named 鈥楾he Greatest Car of All Time鈥?by viewers of the BBC鈥檚 鈥楾op Gear鈥?television programme. The Range Stormer concept vehicle, heralding a new Land Rover design direction, is revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. The Discovery 3 makes its public debut. Featuring a new 鈥業ntegrated Body Frame鈥?architecture, the new vehicle echoes the design themes of the original Discovery but with 21st century sharpness. New technology includes the 鈥楾errain Response鈥?system. Power units include a 4.4-litre V8 petrol, a 2.7-litre V6 diesel and a 4.0-litre V6 petrol engine. The suspension is independent all round, while a flat floor optimises space in the rear compartment.

Its grille and fog lamp bezels now sport a bright finish and paint detailing changes to the front grille surround, insert bars and fender vent harmonize the different elements. With Xenon and LED technology the front and rear lamps have been revamped, giving the LR2 a new look set off with a new signature design graphic in the front running lights. The narrow A-pillars make for excellent all-round visibility. The short front and rear overhangs and high underbody are essential for the vehicle鈥檚 off-road performance. Body-side protection guards against stone chips and helps keep the sills clean. Maximum rear axle ground clearance is 10.5鈥?while the front axle鈥檚 is 8.3 inches. As if the vehicle isn鈥檛 dressy enough, Land Rover has added three new body colors: Aintree Green, Havana and a beautiful Mauritius Blue. As handsome (probably a better choice of words) as the 2013 LR2 is, it鈥檚 the mechanical side that really makes this a force to be reckoned with.

You're at the car dealership with your spouse and two children. Safety is a top concern to you because you want your family to be protected and you couldn't imagine life without them. You look your salesman in the eye and ask "is this vehicle safe?" He responds with, "It's best in class, a five-star crash rating." You take the guy in the plaid jacket at his word and buy the car. What you don't know is that the vehicle has a four-star rating in rear impact and on the passenger side the car gets only three. So many stars, so little sense. Automakers are on-board with a new proposal that would lessen the safety crash confusion by giving one cumulative crash test score for each vehicle. The 30-year-old New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) needs to change now that the vast majority of cars receive a five-star ranking. Tests are likely to get tougher but an alliance of the Detroit three, Toyota, and others object to raising the front impact test speed to 35 mph. They also want to keep separate crash test and crash avoidance data. Honda, who is not in the alliance, doesn't like the idea of adding complexity to the final safety test score. Honda astutely points out that if it's tough for the government to come up with a proper formula that combines all information it would be impossible for the customer. NHTSA is taking suggestions through April 10 on rules changes then will try to act in time for the 2008 model year. We welcome tougher testing and less confusing ratings for crash tests, and we're hoping that guy in the plaid jacket would lose the giant blow-up gorilla on top of the dealership. It's going to cause an accident.
