Land Rover鈥檚 Evoque Hides Off-road Tech Behind A Luxury SUV

Land Rover鈥檚 Evoque Hides Off-road Tech Behind A Luxury SUV

Unfortunately, I only got a short amount of time behind the wheel of a vehicle that had this system installed. So I look forward to putting it through its paces in the future. That future testing should be fine since Land Rover made sure to keep placing me on dirt roads during a drive which involved running through streams and rutted trails to show off the Evoque's off-road bonafides. It's a bummer that most owners of the Evoque will never take it off road other than in the VIP parking lot of Coachella. The SUV made short work of gravel roads and could be counted on to make its way through streams and narrow openings. Even without ClearSight Ground View, the Evoque was ready to tackle its time off the asphalt. While driving through small rivers, up hills and over rocks so large that one of the wheels left the ground, the Evoque never felt compromised.

In response to customer feedback, Mazda has introduced a more focused version of its coupe - RX-8 PZ. The four-door sports coupe went on sale in the United Kingdom last July. From July Mazda RX-8 PZ has already established a good standing in both sales and reviews. RX-8 PZ used some of the outstanding RX8 parts Mazda RX 8 and accessories to create the high-power version of the coupe. PZ has been developed through the collaboration of Mazda with Prodrive, a leading motorsport company. Mazda鈥檚 agreement with Prodrive is to build a special car model that has the standard attributes of RX-8 without sacrificing the passenger鈥檚 comfort. Moreover, Prodrive developed bespoke suspension settings after conducting several extensive testing on selected roads and motorways. Aside from said special collaboration, Mazda also sought the help of specialist component suppliers like Eibach, Bilstein and OZ Racing. Top-quality components from the mentioned suppliers were used in manufacturing Mazda RX-8 PZ.

鈥淚t fills me with pride to have seen the first new Discovery Sport coming off the line here at our world-class Halewood production facility. We are now even more excited to hand the keys over to the crew at Virgin Galactic. The new car embodies Land Rover鈥檚 spirit of Above and Beyond, so it鈥檚 fitting that it will be used by a similarly pioneering company in Virgin Galactic,鈥?said Murray Dietsch, Director of Land Rover Programmes. The impact of Discovery Sport has also been positively felt within the UK supply chain where 拢3.5bn in contracts have been awarded to 55 suppliers. Land Rover revealed the new Discovery Sport through an online film shot at Spaceport America in New Mexico, USA, last month. The launch of the car was paired with the announcement of Land Rover鈥檚 Galactic Discovery competition, giving four friends the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to space with Virgin Galactic.

NZ's Most Popular SUVs And What's Behind Their Success

NZ's Most Popular SUVs And What's Behind Their Success

This vehicle will sit in between the ASX and the Outlander in the Mitsubishi SUV fleet. 60,000 - and this is where all the medium-sized luxury product lives. The top-selling vehicle here is the Mercedes-Benz GLC which is now available in wagon and coupe styles and as a stonking AMG 43, followed by the Land Rover Discovery Sport, the Porsche Macan, BMW X3, and Audi Q5. The Volvo XC60 is also a popular vehicle. There are also a pair of very good Lexus models in the category, the NX200T and the NX300h hybrid, and a recent entry is the Jaguar F-Pace - which we at Stuff judged to be the year's top luxury SUV. This is Jaguar's first SUV, and the good news is that it retains all the sporting nature of its more conventional sedan models. Japanese premium brand Infiniti has entered this market segment with a sports coupe called QX70, which is available with GT, Premium and Design levels of specification, all the vehicles powered by the same 175kW V6 turbo diesel. A big arrival mid-year will be a brand-new Land Rover Discovery - its local launch has been timed to coincide with the Lions rugby tour of New Zealand. Built for the first time on a monocoque rather than ladder-frame chassis, the new Disco will be available with three levels of specification, and all models will be powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel.

Fiesta body structure was designed with ultra-high-strength steels for rigidity, resulting in a quiet, rattle-free ride. 鈥淎 buyer of a larger car expects it to be quiet,鈥?said Steve Pintar, Fiesta chief nameplate engineer. 鈥淔or a Fiesta driver, the quiet cabin will be a welcome surprise, allowing them to better enjoy a conversation with a friend or their favorite road tunes.鈥?鈥淎 smaller car can pose challenges for noise and vibration control. You have smaller spaces to work with, and there are always cost and material concerns to keep the car affordable,鈥?Pintar said. Built off Ford鈥檚 global B-car platform with high-strength steel, the new Fiesta for North America also features a quiet Power Shift transmission, an acoustic-laminated windshield and revised chassis and tire tuning. Unique brand associations are also strong and favorable; create points of difference that distinguish the brand from other brands. Brand associations may or may not be shared with other competing brands.

Pico-up created by the fog lamp rim, wheel covers responding to a wave line Nagare flow moving characters on the side of the vehicle and the rear panel just below the door sliders . This unique hinge side panel is based on patterns formed when the wind blows over the water. New Nagare flow aluminum / alloy wheels models (16 and 17 inches) was introduced twisted surfaces that give them a sporty three-dimensionality, which promotes flow patterns, and Mazda 5 silhouette. There is also a 15-inch wheels of steel full wheel cover. There are 8 exterior colors for customers to choose from, including the new bright blue water. A new instrument panel design is inserted into the new Mazda 5 makes the front passenger area seems more than ever, and gives a high level of sportsmanship and interior styling. The pilot group chapel, for example, it is now, flowing in an arc to form the outer edge of the center console for an integrated look of quality.

Very odd to see it on my CX-9, but I don't think it wouldn't make sense for Mazda to use the "conventional" orientation on the CX series, and use the "correct" orientation on the compact and midsize sedans. Glad you're enjoying it. What version of the 6 do you have? 2018 Grand Touring Reserve. They added the Reserve package between GT and Signature in '18. I have the parchment interior, blue exterior. The white really looks upscale inside vs the usual sea of black. Most Mazda products, except for the CX-9, have generally been reliable. Older CX-9s had some troubles. Are you talking about the 1st Gen Ford CX-9? The current one is above average in reliability. Mine hasn't had a single issue in first 2 years. I liked your opening paragraph about your history especially in the 80's. It reminded me of going to my local dealer at the time to inquire about a Civic. I was told by a rude salesman we can sell every one we get over msrp so I can put you on a waiting list if you want, I just walked away and have never bought a Honda. It occurs to me over the years I have never considered a Mazda, too many other options where I lived I guess. I am impressed by their post Ford offerings though. And YES I love the Velour seats! In July I was new car shopping and looked at the Mazda 6 in Signature trim and it was very nice. It's really a shame they don't sell better but there are a lot of factors working against it. Small dealer network, declining sedan sales (1,100 sold last month -47%) intense competition from Accord, Camry, Altima etc. I like Mazda's attempt to take their models a bit more upscale.

NZ's Most Popular SUVs And What's Behind Their Success

NZ's Most Popular SUVs And What's Behind Their Success

Take New Zealand's most popular SUV, the Toyota RAV4, as a prime example. Last year 3612 of them were registered as new vehicles, which placed the model second only to the Toyota Corolla as the biggest-selling passenger vehicle in the country. But of that total, 1593 of the RAV4 sales were to rental companies. Of course a vehicle sale is a vehicle sale, whether it is to a rental company or a family. But the rental business, which is at an all-time high right now as tourism experiences boom times, does skew the registration figures. Last year the top-selling medium-sized SUVs were, in order, the RAV4, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, and Holden Captiva. But if the rental business was factored out of the sales equation, the order of popularity would be Sportage, CX-5, Hyundai Santa Fe, and the RAV4 and Mitsubishi Outlander dead-heated in fourth place. The RAV4 deserves to be at the top of the tree.

New colorways compliment the revised upholstery design with Ebony, Tan and Ivory and there are matching door casings in Ebony PVC with Ivory stitching and Ebony PVC with Tan contrast stitching. Three new fascia finishers come in either Element Silver, Dark Chestnut and Black Lacquer Finish. This Black Lacquer Finish (optional) is also carried over onto the steering wheel switchpack. At the high end of the option range, the LUX Package comes with Windsor Leather upholstery in Ebony, Almond, Ivory or Tan colorways. The Pack includes the luxurious 8/6 way electric seat plus premium carpet mats. All 2011 LR2s will benefit from a clear and contemporary new instrument pack too. The LR2 provides the safest possible environment for occupants. The Command Driving Position provides good visibility of all four corners of the vehicle and narrow A-pillars ensure that forward visibility is not compromised. There are seven airbags: two curtain, two front, two thorax and a driver鈥檚 knee bag as standard. The transverse engine mounting not only frees up interior space but offers impressive crash performance, helping the LR2 achieve a 5 star Euro NCAP rating for adult occupant protection.

During delivery, the rim was not fixed and the touch ups on the bumpers were not 100% satisfactory. I鈥檓 willing to give a pass on the attempts to fix the bumpers (it is a used car after all). However, the fact that the rim was not fixed was a bit disappointing. Robby did rectify the matter by having the rim looked at and fixed right away. I would have expected all these to be done, inspected and ready by the scheduled time I arrived at the dealership. 2. Prior to the delivery date, I received an email from their 鈥淓ncore Specialist鈥?with a reminder of things I needed to do (e.g. confirm insurance, balance amount for money order, etc.). This is great and I appreciated the reminder! However, the amount appearing in the email did not match the balance on the paper I signed when agreeing to the deal. I give it a pass assuming it was a typo. After all, no reputable business would change purchase amount without discussing with the customer first. 3. I noticed a lack of communication/coordination between the various personnel at the dealership. For example, the inspection write-up from Lexus dealership was sitting with some rep who was off on the day of my scheduled delivery. So this had to be emailed to me after. What if I noticed something on the inspection write-up that was a deal breaker? None the less, I agreed to receive via email after and thankfully found nothing major that I consider a deal breaker. Another example was lack of communication around the transfer of vehicle/plates between my wife and I. 4. The detailing of the vehicle was not to our satisfaction. My wife ran her fingers over the dashboard and came out with black dusty hands. I don't want to make it sound like a horrible job. It wasn't. My wife and I are very picky on these things and expect high standards from luxury brands.

It can be used the same way. That page may look a little different now, however. Previously there were also menus in which you could find, for instance, the U.S. Auto Sales By Brand post from February 2010 and the Canada Commercial Van category. Those menus still exist on GoodCarBadCar, but they've moved to The Tally page. The Sales Stats menu allows you to see how one vehicle has fared over the course of the last decade or so. The Tally page is where you'll find posts which compare vehicles in their respective categories, and in the case of the All Vehicle Rankings, with every other vehicle on sale. As before, the Best Sellers page offers links to every best seller post on GoodCarBadCar and provides links through myriad dropdown menus to brand rankings posts and worst sellers rankings. These are small changes, but changes we hope will make it easier for you to find the information you require. For Internet Explorer users who had been having trouble utilizing the Sales Stats dropdown menus, we apologize. Feel free to contact Timothy Cain in the future with any problems you might be having in your quest to locate specific automotive sales data. Oh, as a general life principle, use Chrome if you're on a PC. Tomorrow is one of the twelve most important days in this niche publishing industry's year. U.S. and Canadian divisions of every automaker report October and year-to-date sales figures. There'll be brand rankings, U.S.

These German Engineered rides are built to attain mileage into the multi hundred thousands; it's called quality and Mercedes is famous for it! The silver body is solid and in good condition, with only a tiny edge of rust on the bottom of the passenger side front quarter panel. The charcoal leather interior is plush, sumptuously body hugging and beautiful, with heated seats to caress you with warmth when you want them to. The leather steering wheel and shifter and wood tone console and accents add another layer of luscious to this smokin' hot Benz and it has a sunroof and tinted windows and rolls with good tires on alloy wheels. Yes, it's the stuff that car fantasies are made of and now you have the chance to make it yours for a lower price than you ever imagined! This automatic Infiniti is sleek, black and shiny, with a great looking body and pale taupe leather interior that's soft, plush and luxurious, and still beautiful despite the tear on the side of the driver's back rest and arm rest.

Land Rover鈥檚 Evoque Hides Off-road Tech Behind A Luxury SUV

Land Rover鈥檚 Evoque Hides Off-road Tech Behind A Luxury SUV

42,650) is the baby of the Range Rover lineup. It's smaller, less expensive and it's one of the best selling vehicles in the automaker's stable. And it's no wonder. It shares the interior luxury, off-road attributes and asphalt driving experience found in other Land Rover vehicles with an updated tech suite. While it's unlikely that most owners of the Evoque will ever use ClearSight Ground View for anything other than making sure they're not driving over a curb, it's a slick way to see what's under a car. The system uses the front-facing cameras on the grill and doors to create an image of what's actually under the front of the car. On the center display, you can virtually see through the bonnet. It does that by using images captured seconds before while the vehicle is in motion. So what it shows is not technically in real time; it's what the SUV's cameras saw microseconds before. Still, it's a great new feature and if you're slowly making your way up a rock-studded road it can mean the difference between scraping the bottom of the Evoque and deftly moving the SUV out of harm's way.

Whatever the terrain, whatever the road condition, whatever the time of year. It is quite an assurance that any Land Rover vehicle will deliver and it will deliver with excellence. And for 2008, the Land Rover brand would be sending out yet another updated and spruced up vehicle to grace and graze the roads that lead to other worlds. One of the most updated Land Rover vehicles that would be making its way in 2008 is the Land Rover LR2. A quick background on the Land Rover LR2 would reveal that this vehicle is actually that very model which took the spot that used to belong to the Land Rover Freelander. And as a replacement, the Land Rover LR2 has been built to last with its sturdy Land Rover body parts and its really exceptional engine. After all, the Land Rover LR2 would surely not be able to rush through streams and rivers and rocky roads if it was not built to last and survive.

Don鈥檛 expect to see major changes in the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport model lineup, as Jaguar Land Rover knows not to fix something that really isn鈥檛 broken. Instead, the 2013 Range Rover Sport models will come to market with new paint options, new interior and trim options, and a new choice of alloy wheels. What鈥檚 not changing is the powertrain, as both the Range Rover Sport HSE and Range Rover Sport Supercharged soldier on with last year鈥檚 engine options. The HSE gets a 5.0-liter V-8, good for 375 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque, while the range-topping Supercharged variant gets a force-fed version of the same V-8 good for 510 Horsepower and 461 pound feet of torque. Both gasoline engines come mated to a ZF-built six-speed automatic transmission, and European customers can choose from two diesel variants rated at 252 horsepower and 208 horsepower, respectively. These diesel engines come with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, which (oddly) isn鈥檛 offered with gasoline engines. Outside, the 2013 Range Rover Sport models are offered in five new colors, including Barolo, Barossa, Causeway, Havana and Mariana. Five-spoke, turbine-style alloy wheels are a new option, and those choosing the Sport Supercharged model will get red-painted Brembo brake calipers. Inside, new trim combinations feature a dark upper cabin with lighter-colored seats, or a lighter upper cabin with dark seats. There鈥檚 a new carbon veneer package available, which Land Rovers says will add a 鈥渃ontemporary look鈥?to the interior. Available features like the Harmon Kardon audio systems and the 7-inch, Dual View touchscreen infotainment center, carry over from last year.

Land Rover鈥檚 Evoque Hides Off-road Tech Behind A Luxury SUV

Land Rover鈥檚 Evoque Hides Off-road Tech Behind A Luxury SUV

Sadly, the majority of the Evoque's life will be on the asphalt and this is where the Evoque reminds us that it's primarily built for luxury, not sport. The SUV ships with a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine. That power plant is used in both trim levels. The P250 is capable of 249 horsepower and 269 foot-pounds of torque. Meanwhile, the P300 (which uses the same engine, but tuned differently) outputs 296 horsepower and 295 foot-pounds of torque. Once you get going the Evoque is like most other Land Rovers. It's built mostly for leisurely jaunts. It has the power to keep up with traffic, but it doesn't come close to competing with quicker offerings from BMW and Audi. It's not supposed to. During the test, I was unable to get behind the wheel of the more powerful P300 trim level. That 50ish extra horsepower (along with the mild-hybrid system) probably adds some additional oomph for passing but the P250 is probably fine for most urban drivers.

If this screw is leaky, you can buy a new one and have it replaced the next time you get your oil changed. This type of leak can't be fixed with engine oil stop leak either. You have to replace the sender. If the oil filter isn't tight enough, or the surface wasn't cleaned on both sides before the oil filter was screwed in, it can leak. The oil filter is a round cylinder about 6 inches long and 4 inches in diameter. Look up a picture if you've never seen one before. If you have an oil leak, you can go out to your car and see if the filter is leaking. This kind of leak can definitely be treated with engine oil stop leak, in fact, this is what engine oil stop leak was basically built for. Engine oil stop leak is designed to treat the rubber oil seals by softening them and causing them to expand. It's not a gummy solution that just gets in there and goops everything up. That's why it works well, because it doesn't really have any adverse side effects.

That would be the expected inches of snowfall in the next thirty hours in this particular neck of the Maine woods. On top of the eight we got yesterday, the eight we got Thursday, and the ice we had already, things are starting to get a little silly. The Land Rover plow truck is holding up as well as could be expected, considering that various injuries and illnesses make it the last available plow-truck and driver combo in the Great Farm hamlet. It now plows nearly a mile of road each snowfall, never mind that each stretch has to be done at least twice and often four or six times to make it safe. This truck and the plow it carries were never meant to plow snow for as many miles as it has been doing. It has shed a heavy lateral spring, and the spring pin that sets the plow angle looks ready to pop out, the base that holds it having sheared off.
