Yeah, I have spent the past 2 days looking through packs and if I find one with the building, tinkers, decor and quests it is missing combat related mods or doesn't include any kind of scaling. I didn鈥檛 do any off-roading this time around either, although I have done so with the previous Evoque and it is very much a Land Rover. I expect nothing less from this second-gen model. The Evoque was a comfortable, capable crossover stylishly packaged for a fair price when it debuted in 2011, and it remains so today. The second-gen model builds on the success of its predecessor with more power, an updated aesthetic and technological advancements, but the core appeal of the Evoque remains. I find myself struggling to pick out things I don鈥檛 like, because honestly there isn鈥檛 much. The design update has erased some of its unique character to the point that it looks a lot like other Land Rover models, but whether that matters or not depends on how one feels about the brand鈥檚 styling. I like it, but I concede there is a samey-ness with a lot of Land Rovers these days, Evoque included. To recap, the new Evoque sits on a very heavily modified version of the old car鈥檚 D8 platform - different enough, it seems, to earn a new name: Premium Transverse Architecture. It has pretty much the same footprint as the outgoing model, but the wheelbase has been lengthened slightly in a bid to improve rear-seat accommodation. The main reason for the switch to PTA, though, is powertrains - and Land Rover鈥檚 desire to offer 48-volt electrification. In fact, the entry-level, front-wheel-drive diesel Evoque is the only model in the range that does not have some form of hybridisation on board - and at the end of this year, a plug-in hybrid version will arrive. For now, though, there鈥檚 a 48V integrated starter/generator system. It allows the car to cut its combustion engine out completely below 11mph, and helps to smooth out any judder when it fires back up again.

We might spec an R-Dynamic car with its mild-hybrid 48-volt pack and adaptive dampers, given the chance to drive one.
