Do I Miss Those Plaid Bell-bottoms?

Happy Days was a more lighthearted offering. Set in the 1950s, it's wholesome image was part of its appeal. Disneyland Records. Also, the mini arcade games. Such as, Pacman and Astroids. We sure have come a loooong way from the Atari games. But back then, they were actually fun and challenging. I love the music from the decade as my blog on 70s songs shows. What a fun look back in time! Yep, I was a child of the 70's and enjoyed this trip down memory lane and even learned a few things about the world I grew up in. Brilliant job on this lens! I was born in 1978. Does that count? This has been a pleasant walk down memory lane. Love the lens and the days gone by! The 70's were my university days, so I remember them well and my favourite music is still from those days. Thanks for the smiles!

Figure 7. ExoMars and Russian platform entry module. Figure 8. Possible designs for Russian-designed lander. Figure 9. Detail of one possible design for the Russian supplied lander. Figure 10. Entry, descent, and landing plan for the ExoMars rover and Russian lander. However, a variety of options are still being considered by the lander contractor NPO Lavochkin. As Van reported in that earlier post, the Russians plan to have a full complement of science instruments on their Descent Module. Even if there were no rover on this mission, the Russian instruments would make this a productive mission. What makes the ExoMars 2018 project a dicey proposition is the fact that the last Soviet/Russian rocket-powered landing occurred with the Luna 24 Moon landing in 1976. The Russians have no recent experience with this type of machine. However, the upcoming mission of Luna 25, in 2016, is set to fly a controlled soft-landing on the Moon.

A modified version of Land Rover's Terrain Response System has also been incorporated. The vehicles were developed by Land Rover's Advanced Engineering Team following successful trials of the Defender-based electric vehicle, Leopard 1. The vehicles' capability has been tested in extreme and environmentally sensitive conditions, demonstrating capabilities not shared by conventional road-going EVs. In keeping with Land Rover's 'Tread Lightly' philosophy the smooth, low-speed capability of the electric drivetrain makes the Electric Defenders especially well suited to climbing obstacles without damaging the ground unnecessarily. The battery weighs 410kg and is mounted in the front of the Defender in place of the diesel engine. Kerb weight is 100kg more than a basic Defender 110 and ranges from 2055kg to 2162kg depending whether the body style is a pick-up, hard top or station wagon. All the major components in the electric powertrain - including the battery, inverter and motor - are air-cooled rather than liquid cooled, saving a considerable amount of weight and complexity and adding robustness. Regenerative braking has been optimised to such an extent that using Hill Descent Control, the motor can generate 30kW of electricity. Because the battery technology can be charged very quickly at a rate of up to twice its capacity of 54kW without reducing battery life, almost all of the regenerated energy can be recovered and stored. Up to 80 percent of the kinetic energy in the vehicle can be recovered in this way, depending on conditions. Antony Harper, Jaguar Land Rover Head of Research.

Is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque a Good SUV? The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is a pretty good luxury subcompact SUV. It has a high-end cabin with lots of high-tech safety features, standard all-wheel drive, and solid handling. However, its performance isn鈥檛 flawless. Its base engine is underpowered for an SUV of its weight, and its transmission and steering could be more precise. It's one of the best off-roaders in the class, but check out rivals if you plan to stick to paved roads. Many competitors offer more cargo space, a higher predicted reliability rating, and better fuel economy estimates. Should I Buy the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque? If driving enjoyment or having a comfortable off-roader is important to you, consider buying the newly redesigned Evoque. Few classmates can rival the Evoque's off-road capability, but many have appealing traits of their own. For example, the Volvo XC40 has similar on-road performance and state-of-the-art technology, including a semiautonomous driving system.

Do I Miss Those Plaid Bell-bottoms?

For the first time in history, the new president, Gerald Ford was not elected, as he had been appointed Vice President when Spiro Agnew left that office under fire for tax evasion. The 1972 Olympics held in Munich, Germany were marred when terrorists took Israeli athletes hostage. Two were killed immediately and the other nine died during a failed rescue attempt. An Arab oil embargo caused lifestyle changes in 1973 and beyond; from rationing of fuel to further limiting speeds on highways. In 1976, the US celebrated its bicentennial year. Space exploration continued to advance. In 1976, "Viking" was the first spacecraft to land on Mars. It provided over 52,000 photographs of that planet. The Space Shuttle, a next-generation spacecraft, was introduced in 1977 as it made its initial test flights. In 1978, Louise Brown became the first "Test Tube Baby" as Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards implanted a previously fertilized egg into the uterus of her mother. With facilitation by Jimmy Carter, Egypt's Anwar Sadat and Israel's Menachem Begin worked through the Camp David accord to improve official relations between their countries. Famine was rampant in Ethiopia throughout the '70s and hit Bangladesh as well.

Can a Mercedes be unexceptional? This one was the absolute bottom of the range, it's been in the same family from new and clocked up a huge mileage laden with stuff and towing a trailer. The owner said having it restored was the easiest decision she's ever made - the fact there are people willing to invest large amounts of time and money into undesirable cars is a wonderful thing. The perfect combination of Japanese style and Italian reliability, this is one of only two roadworthy Cherry Europes in the UK and possibly the world. Twin sister of the notorious Alfa Romeo Arna, it won top honours at the very first Festival of the Unexceptional in 2014 and was back in the invitational class. It's a Lada. In a concours competition. Where else would you find such a thing? This fancy ES model would have been the envy of the Russians with all its extra features added by the importers. The searing orange paint is very period too. Hustlers are cool. William Towns's angular and glassy Mini-based kit car looks like nothing else on the road and attracts attention wherever it goes.

7. Try to Find out What Gifts are Expected: In case of your family and friends try to find out what they might be expecting from you or what their secret wishes are. Dont ask them directly. 8. Reciprocal and Last Minute Additions Gifts: Even if it is a reciprocal gift or a gift to a person who was not included in your original list, dont let the recipient know this and feel unimportant. 9. Give Intangible Gifts also: The costliest gift given with an unsmiling face is worthless. The costliest gift given with a feeling of animosity is worthless. The costliest gift without love is worthless. A gift is a statement of love and a promise of continued love. 10. Give to Needy and Poor also: Set aside a portion of your budget for the needy and poor whom you may not know. Make their Christmas bright. I would highly recommend that you read, if already read re-read, the all time favorite and classical short story 聯The Gift of the Magi聰 by O. Henry.

All petrol and diesel engines are equipped with Start & Stop, already approved models Musa and Delta, which switches the engine off temporarily and starts it again, in order to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Turn off the engine when the vehicle is stopped to avoid unnecessary fuel consumption (up to 15% of the city by car), reduces emissions and improves the acoustics. The device can be enabled / disabled using the button on the dashboard. The engines are equipped with Start & Stop is also the control of Air Flap (GSI), a true "partner" that subtly asks drivers when it's time to change gear, which will lead to more efficient use of fuel consumption. For example, GSI may suggest move up, which allows information on the control panel, so that the engine operate at a lower speed downshift and make the most of available torque. The new Ypsilon is a car that allows you to enjoy moments of relaxation and travel comfortably, also due to suspensions that have been updated to ensure control and comfort at the highest level.

It takes anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds (depends on engine design, oil thickness, and temperature) for the oil pump to start delivering pressurized oil to the bearings so your engine is most vulnerable during that window. Protect yourself with by filling your engine with fresh high quality oil before storage. Protect yourself further by keeping your engine speed at idle, and don鈥檛 put it under load until it鈥檚 had time to warm up a bit. What鈥檚 the talk about 鈥減utting a car up on blocks? One of the most annoying things that happens when a car sits for a year is called flat spotting. That鈥檚 when the tires develop flat spots where there sat in contact with the floor. Most times flat spots work themselves out in an hour鈥檚 driving next spring but sometimes they don鈥檛. Putting the car on blocks - using blocks to lift the tires off the ground - prevents that and ensures your tires will be perfectly round when you start the car in the spring. If you can't do that over inflating is the next best thing. Should I store the car full of gas, or empty?
