The armored version of the Jaguar XJ will appear in this month International Motor Show in Moscow. The expertise of Jaguar Land Rover in the armored vehicle market has produced the perfect car for anyone who is under constant fear of being attacked, offering discreet protection coupled with real world usability. The car can survive an explosion of 33 pounds of TNT and offers protection even from grenades detonating below the car. All the anti-bullet gear has added to the car's weight, almost doubling it. The long-wheel based sedan is equipped with an armoring system that is not detectable from the outside. On the other hand, performance is lower as it takes 9.7 seconds to reach 63 mph while a stock car only takes five or six seconds to reach the same speed. Its top speed is 121 mph. The 385 horsepower V8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission are the same as for the regular XJ cars. From the outside, it looks like a regular factory-stock car and has the same amount of space and comfort.

The newly developed alloy is now used on the Jaguar XE and XJ. JLR also invested 拢6.2 million to ensure that press shop metal scrap could be segregated into separate metals, with separated aluminum alloys returned directly to Novelis. As a result, a Closed-Loop Value Chain (CLVC) was created and increasing volumes of segregated high quality scrap are being returned from JLR press shops directly to Novelis, rather than entering the general scrap market. This improved segregation has allowed JLR to increase revenue generation from their standard general scrap market sales (open-loop) to scrap sales back to Novelis (closed-loop), with a payback period of less than two years after the scrap enters the closed-loop. Last week, Novelis and Jaguar Land Rover were recognized for their partnership and leadership with REALCAR at the 2015 Ethical Corporation Responsible Business Awards in London, where both companies were honored with the Best Business to Business (B2B) Partnership Award.

It's still highly capable off road鈥攎aybe even more so than the original鈥攂ut the Range Rover tackles both trails and suburban byways while providing a comfortable ride, richly upholstered seats, genuine wood trim, and touchscreen infotainment. The boxy exterior styling is synonymous with wealth and status, so parking one in your driveway is the automotive equivalent to donning a Rolex Submariner or a pair of Manolo Blahniks. Like most everything, the Range Rover doesn't come without compromise: Fuel economy isn't great, driving dynamics are clumsy, and its infotainment system is buggy. According to a study conducted by Dr. Frank Fish, a professor of biology at West Chester University, a strong similarity was found between the doggy paddle and the trotting gait dogs used on land. When dogs trot, their legs move at a faster pace than a walk and their legs move in a diagonal pattern. When dogs swim, they move their legs in a similar fashion, only faster and with their legs moving beyond the range of motion as seen in the trot. This suggests that swimming required dogs to modify the basic movement they used on land therefore, it's not as natural as walking or using other gaits. Prefer not to figure out. Hybrid or no, the GMC Yukon's not exactly what you'd call an upmarket machine. If The General had taken the hit and offered the Yukon Hybrid for the same price or less than its gasoline equivalent, it would be a far more compelling proposition. But they didn't. So let's press on. Aesthetically, the Yukon Hybrid is about as bashful as a drunken sorority girl at Panama City Beach Spring Break. The big rig's plastered with no fewer than nine proclamations that it possess a gas-electric drivetrain, including three-foot-long "Hybrid" stickers along its mighty flanks. Custom side skirts, a rear spoiler and good-looking low-weight 18-inch wheels add more not-so-subtle style (and mpgs) to the equation. Other than that, it's a Yukon: big, bland and boxy. OK, the SUV's creases were sharpened pre-Hurricane Katrina, but the Yukon's looks still aren't going to blow anyone away. To drop the Yukon Hybrid's aerodynamic Cd from .39 to .34, GM re-softened those sharpened creases with a slightly reshaped hood and rear hatch, and lost the roof rack. Although the new hood and hatch are fashioned from aluminum, the Yukon Hybrid's batteries and electric motor make it heavier than the standard model.
