In April, There's Just The One

In April, There's Just The One

Toyota doesn't list the Land Cruiser as a vehicle of choice on its Canadian website. But every month, a few sales of the favoured African safari vehicle show up on the sales charts. Well, most every month a few Toyota Land Cruisers show up on the sales chart. In April, there's just the one. Seeing as how Toyota is making a very unconscious effort to market the Land Cruiser to Canadians, we'll forgive the exclusivity. When perusing this month's Graph, keep in mind the large black pie slice belongs to two vehicles; one of which likely sells very little. The old-style Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is linked up with the new GL-Class by Mercedes-Benz Canada. It's safe to say the Escalade and GL-Class Benz are competing over most large luxury SUV sales in Canada, or at least did so in April. Range Rover sales, by the way, were way up in April and are way up for the year, too. A 58.1% increase over 2009 thanks to a revamped engine lineup is quite something for an aging vehicle.

Nonetheless, the F-150 Power Stroke V6 performed admirably. All Ford F-150 models come with Ford鈥檚 typical three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, with five-year/60,000-mile coverage for the powertrain. Because we鈥檙e a fan of technology here at DT, that means we鈥檇 opt for all the bells and whistles of the Platinum trim in 鈥淏lue Jeans鈥?blue for the closest shade to DT blue. 60,920, but who doesn鈥檛 like being pampered with their driving experience, no matter the task? Despite its middling status, Ford boasts the new Power Stroke offers best-in-class torque, towing (11,400 pounds, comparable to the V8鈥檚 rating), and payload ratings (2,020 pounds for fleet trucks, 1,940 for retail versions), and best-in-class fuel economy. Though with the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel being its only competitor until General Motors introduces its new light-duty diesel for the Chevrolet Silverado and its GMC cousin, the Sierra, it鈥檚 not exactly difficult to attain such accolades. And if towing or hauling are your priority, the gasser EcoBoost V6s still reign superior. Otherwise, the Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel V6 serves up a driving experience that鈥檚 more refined than its gas siblings, without sacrificing too much utility and compromising the versatility, comfort and everyday usability of the light-duty, half-ton F-150. And because its only competitor is the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, which is still based off the previous generation Ram, the Ford F-150 Power Stroke is the latest and greatest currently available.

New analysis by car comparison website PriceMyCar sorted through 60,000 new car sales over the past six months and found that NSW residents paid less than all other states on average. Victorians pay the least of the rest, followed by Queensland, ACT, Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. There can be quite a big difference in the cost of new cars between states and territories, but why? 1000 more than someone in NSW. The data also showed that prices can vary wildly between states for the same brands. NSW buyers can expect to pay almost five per cent less than the national average for a Mazda. 1500 more for a Nissan than Victorian buyers. Manufacturers set the base retail price for all vehicles, but there are a number of 鈥渙n-road鈥?costs on top of the recommended retail price. Stamp duty is the biggest difference. This is a state-based tax applied on top of GST, luxury car tax and import tariffs. It adds a sizeable chunk onto to the price of your vehicle and it can vary widely depending on your location.

All 2016 models come standard with parking sensors and front- and rearview cameras. Which Is Better: 2016 Range Rover Sport or 2016 BMW X5? The 2016 BMW X5 and 2016 Range Rover Sport both impress with crisp driving dynamics, strong engine performance, and sumptuous interiors. Additionally, both can seat seven thanks to their optional third-row seats. But if you aren鈥檛 venturing too far off the beaten path, the BMW is the better SUV. The X5 rates higher for reliability and offers lower ownership costs. It also features a simpler infotainment system (iDrive), and its engines are a bit more fuel-efficient. Which Is Better: 2016 Range Rover Sport or 2016 Volvo XC90? We named the Volvo XC90 the 2016 Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for Families. The XC90's handsome interior and top-quality cabin materials rival those of the Range Rover Sport. It outclasses the Rover in most other areas. The XC90 has a more comfortable third row, a simpler touch screen, superior fuel economy, and lower projected ownership costs.

Overland Expo 2019, April 16-18, 2019

Overland Expo 2019, April 16-18, 2019

We found the Arizona Land Rover Owners (AZLRO) camping area. Several people were already there. We set up our Rover then headed over to the Expo. There was a Snow Peak demonstration at 4 pm that I really wanted to see. Grace was whining about it taking too long. I was really interested in seeing their Japanese Dutch Ovens. I have been cooking with my Lodge Cast Iron for years and was wanting to see these in action. Much to my surprise, the Snow Peak guys were using an American cast iron pan on the Snow Peak stove. So, I assume if they were not using them, then they are not very good. But they did have the Snow Peak cooking table set up. The table set up is very nice! I would love to have one of them with all the accessories. It sure would make cooking a lot easier. Once the food was done, Grace was no longer complaining.

Having this technology seemed to be a little downside because the models became heavier, compromising agility and performance. The models also had a full independent suspension that enabled ride-height adjustment by pumping or deflating the airbags. Despite some downsides, ride quality could be experienced both during off-road and high-speed driving; the road clearance of the units could be adjusted for better handling. Other improvements included a multiple electronic traction control system, an on-board computer system, a DVD navigation system, and other luxurious perks. Units made in this generation merely had improvements from the previous ones. The look of the models was made smoother by restyling the front and rear lights, front grille, and bumper. To provide a better engine output, two turbochargers were used; the first one was a variable geometry turbocharger at low engine speeds, while the other one was a standard turbo at higher engine speeds. Of course, the interiors were updated by restyling the instrument cluster and installing a TFT screen that displayed tons of data in different modes and formats. There was an optional Surround Camera System that allowed the installation of cameras in the headlamps, rear tailgate handle, and wing mirrors; this let the driver see the outside of the vehicle from various angles when off-road or parking. These models were also made fuel efficient with the use of a Smart alternator, which only charged the battery during a low-load engine.

Chief Executive Bob Dover explains, It is essential that people instantly recognise the new vehicle as a Range Rover. The exterior is modern yet retains all the distinctive styling cues. It also introduces some new ones. We get a return to round headlamps, plus we get vertically stacked indicator units, a design cue nicked from the utilitarian Defender. This feature is mirrored with the tail lights and indicators, narrowed to allow a wide opening tailgate. Prices for the 4.4-litre petrol V8 start at 拢38,000 for an early 2002 SE model on a 51 plate. An equivalent HSE will command 拢40,500 and the lavishly equipped Vogue will retail at around 拢45,500 for a well looked after model with around 31,000 miles on the clock. The 3.0-litre Td6 diesel models are a little more affordable, with prices opening at 拢36,000 for an SE, 拢38,600 for an HSE and 拢42,500 for a Vogue model.

If you are interested in a small SUV with off-road capabilities, this vehicle will set you back between P335,000 for early models released ten years ago to P800,000 among later models. If you want 4WD, only the 2.4 does not have it so hunt for other engine displacements. Keeping this baby won't set you back big bucks nor your kidney but Suzuki parts cost more than the average Japanese competition. Problem points for this vehicle involve the aircon and the engine support, so have these checked prior to buying. As an economical choice, this isn't the one since city driving will fall below 10kms to a liter and the V6 drinks more than a drunken man. Timeless looks and a rugged exterior makes this SUV silently stands out in a crowd. Throughout the years, the grille was changed only once. Let us leave the design alone which speaks for itself. Going inside, this vehicle will treat you to lots of space which can fit five people comfortably. The interior controls are logically placed but some interior touches feel cheap, despite the fact this one is a CBU from Japan.
