Fifty years of off-road prowess built Land Rover an enviable reputation. Even their newest and plushest offerings lived up to the 1960s slogan - No Road, No Problem. From its introduction in the 1950s the Land Rover was consistently one of the most capable off-road vehicles in the world. After Ford sold Land Rover to Tata the company seemed to take a different direction. They moved away from their rugged roots and became more urban, and far more luxurious. Skid plates vanished or were scaled back. Fragile plastic trim hung perilously close to the ground. Handling on the freeway improved greatly, at the expense of rock crawling and river crossing capability. Who cares about those things, anyway? The answer is, those things matter to collectors. They matter to people who keep Land Rovers at summer homes on the Cape and Islands. They matter to people who keep Land Rovers at their ski homes in Colorado.

The grille is narrower now, but they鈥檙e flanked by big headlamps. The latter are no longer round, but the rectangular covers hide round LED shapes. The engine hood is flat and features a bulge in the center, just like the old Defender. Even the cutout is similar and includes only the center section of the hood. This is a rather unusual feature on modern cars, which usually have hoods that extend from fender to fender. The profile is also similar. It retains the boxy lines and the tall beltline that passes right under the windows. The beltline is straight and featureless, just like on the old Defender. Likewise, there are no character lines on the door or the side skirts. It鈥檚 pretty obvious that Land Rover wanted to keep things as simpler and familiar as possible. There鈥檚 no view of the rear end, but it sure looks like the tailgate is as straight as they get, just like on the second-gen Defender. But it will have a wider tailgate for enhanced loading capability. The SUV will also feature modern LED taillights, most likely placed vertically on the sides.

Look at door bottoms on older Series Land Rovers, they collect damp around the turned-up edges. Roof rack clips might accumulate rust where the water can't escape along the rain strip. Steel engine pipes shouldn't be rusty if the vehicle is in use, and watch out for plastic or rubber pipes that are in contact with parts that get hot in use. They can be held in place with plastic strapping used for large bags or else you could find yourself losing coolant or brake fluids etc! The air pipes should be checked regularly. You don't want them perforated. Look at the bracing on the exhaust pipe. How much would you have to lay out if all these things were to go 'on the blink' at the same time? Does the engine lose oil? Look for drips underneath. If there are black patches under the vehicle you could be in line for a costly ride.

As much as some people like originality, I like tasteful custom work because it鈥檚 an opportunity to express our creative skills. We love building custom bumpers, hidden winch mounts, or special racks and carriers. Those things are like custom cabinets in a fine home - you can look at them forever and know they were made just for you, and not bought from a parts catalog. Obviously the word customization can mean many things, all the way to the Batmobile or the George Barris custom rods of the sixties. If you have something far out in mind, make sure the restorers share your vision. Otherwise you run the risk of being like that sailor who passed out in the tattoo parlor . We鈥檝e also learned how much time quality work takes. We know a full restoration can easily consume a thousand of hours of labor. Some complex cars can take far more.

Having bought the Land Rover unseen on an MOD action site our purchase is perhaps a bit of a leap in to the unknown. The pictures that I have seen of it and the very brief description given about it highlights the fact that a lot of work is going to be required before it takes to the road again. On the plus side we own what must be one of the cheapest to buy Pulse Ambulances in civilian hands. 路 Dealing with whatever water damage has been caused due to the windscreen being missing. Of course there will be numerous other jobs to be tackled and I am under no illusion that this will be a quick fix up and go. On the bright side however we have a blank canvas and over the next two years hopefully we can build a pretty decent overland vehicle. I have arranged for the Land Rover to be collected from its current location just north of London on the 28th of November and delivered to our house the next day. Frustratingly I will not see the Land Rover until Christmas as I am currently working overseas and I am not home again until then. Hopefully Kathleen will manage to take a few more pictures when it is delivered next week.

The Ford Motor Co. earlier sold the Aston Martin, its British luxury sports car unit, to a group of private investors. People familiar to the deal said the purchaser is led by David Richards, an auto racing entrepreneur and also the founder of Prodrive Ltd. The latter also runs the Aston Martin racing program. Ford sold the Aston Martin brand to raise money to defray restructuring expenses. But it will retain a small stake in the brand. When asked about the sale, a Ford spokesman declined to comment last Sunday. 12.7 billion. In view thereof, the automaker closed factories and slashed tens of thousands of jobs as part of the restructure plan. But the strategies are deemed wanting hence the automaker considered other options available and one of it is selling the Aston Martin brand. The Aston Martin is made equally-famous as agent 007, a.k.a. James Bond, has featured and used the brand's vehicles in some of his movies. The brand is part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group which also covers Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo Cars. These brands are famous for the luxury, performance and safety. Jaguar, to boost its design philosophy introduced new lineup to wipe away the boxy image of the automaker. Land Rover, on the other hand, is enhancing its off-road performance. Volvo has achieved an ideal standard in auto safety. Even a simple auto part like the Volvo distributor cap is designed with topmost safety offering in mind. 327 million recorded sales decline in 2006. The automaker does not usually divulge any financial information regarding the individual units of the Premier Automotive Group nonetheless the company said Aston Martin is quite profitable. Aston Martin, headquartered in Gaydon, England, produces about 5,000 cars annually. 100,000. Considering the standards set by Ford, Aston Martin is not sharing its engineering and auto parts with the rest of Ford brands. Even when the automaker endeavors to make its operations global, the company is preserving the philosophy and standards of Aston Martin. 700 million last year.

Most high end cars have two parts to their keys. There is a mechanical key blade that physically unlocks a mechanism, and there is an invisible electronic component that talks to the security system in the car to authorize starting. That鈥檚 why you can鈥檛 copy keys at a locksmith anymore . Even worse, if the lock turns without the electronic authorization, the alarm may go off and the car may enter a locked-down state that necessitates a tow to the repair shop. The pushbutton keys are numbered Key 1 through Key 4. When ordering a key, you specify the number. You can only have one of each number. So for example, if you have a Key 2, and you order a second Key 2, only one of those keys will work the remote locking system. The keys are identified by stickers which unfortunately wear off with time. The result: you kind of take your chance on key numbers when ordering new keys, unless you have the foresight to write your numbers in your owner鈥檚 book.

The rubber boots on the ball joints have rotted away, and the joints are loose. The brake calipers are frozen from lack of use. And the wheel bearings are sloppy. The fix: a complete front end and brake overhaul. If this was a modern Jaguar, we鈥檇 be able to do this repair in a day, using complete hubs and exchange brake calipers. The parts would pop off and the new assemblies would slide on. Old cars don鈥檛 usually go that smoothly. We can鈥檛 simply buy new brake calipers for an old XKE; the calipers the car has must be rebuilt. Same for the hubs. Everything is more time consuming because we repair, rather than replace. In addition the scope of these jobs tends to expand when compared to service on a new car. For example, we might need to replace the steel brake pipes if they don鈥檛 unscrew. We might struggle with rusty parts that won鈥檛 come apart, and we will spend time cleaning things up. The one-day job on a newer Jag may become a two or three day job on an older car.

This version will also have a unique Virgin Galactic pattern on the front headrest and above the glovebox. The Range Rover for the 鈥渙rdinary鈥?buyers will be available in short- and long-wheelbase configurations with the cargo space up to 75.6 cubic feet. The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover will swap the current, base supercharged V-6 engine for a more efficient and powerful inline-6 unit with a mild-hybrid system. The new, base 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine combined with the mild-hybrid system will provide two different outputs. On the hand, the base P360 version will get 355 hp and torque of 365 pound-feet from the system. On the other hand, the application of the system available exclusively in the HSE trim will deliver 395 hp and torque of 406 pound-feet. A more powerful P400 guise will hit 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. The mild-hybrid system, in this case, is a starter motor which boosts the engine performance under high loads and powers also the electric compressor which improves pressure before the turbocharger engages. The new powertrain is also said to provide about 20 percent better efficiency than the current supercharged V-6 powertrain. The 2020 Range Rover should also offer a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 producing 254 hp and torque of 443 pound-feet. The plug-in hybrid P400e version will combine a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine and 85-kW electric motor with 13-kWh battery. The system will produce combined power of 398 hp and torque of 475 pound-feet. It will ride 31 miles in all-electric mode. The next generation Range Rover should however adopt a new plug-in hybrid powertrain with the inline-6 engine paired with two electric motors, one for each axle. The version with the battery-electric powertrain should also appear with the fifth-generation Range Rover. 1, 295 destination charge included. The model will go on sale later in the year.

In truth the Land Rover has been the vehicle of choice for the military, the agricultural sector, as well as the commercial sector of the past and present Britain. These Land Rover vehicles perform well and are good vehicles to handle. Of course, the features and primary comfort that this brand brings its patrons is all because of the Land Rover electrical parts. The first major component in the Land Rover electrical system is the battery. The battery is used to store power for starting the engine as well as for running supplementary devices and features like the clock, the radio, and the alarms. It also is the initial source of power and electricity of the Land Rover. A 12-volt Land Rover storage battery comprises of layers of positively and negatively charged lead plates. These lead plates work together with their insulated separators. Each of these makes up six two-volt cells. Each of these cells are filled with an electricity-conducting liquid or electrolyte and this then is usually around two-thirds distilled water and the remaining portion is composed of sulfuric acid. The next major component of the Land Rover electrical system is the starter motor. The function of this component is to convert electricity to mechanical energy. By turning on the ignition switch, this releases a small amount of power from the battery to the solenoid found above the starter. This then creates a magnetic field that then pulls the solenoid plunger forward. Another major component is the Land Rover alternator. This is a charging device that is powered by the Land Rover's engine. It actually gives power to the electrical system when the Land Rover is running as well as holding the function of restoring the charge within the battery.

What are common reasons my Land Rover LR2 has air conditioning problems? What will be the outcome of an air conditioning system diagnosis? Replacement of most air conditioning components requires complete evacuation of the air conditioning system with a refrigerant recovery machine. Once components are re-installed, the technician will remove all air from the system in preparation for recharging the system with new refrigerant. Refrigerant is environmentally harmful, and should never be released into the air. Instead, a proper refrigerant recovery machine must be used to protect the technician, and the environment. We do not recommend attempting to recharge the A/C system at home, as products available to consumers tend to contain substances that can cause damage to expensive refrigerant recovery equipment. Lastly, if your vehicle has not been converted from R12 to R134a refrigerant, the best time to have this service completed is when the air conditioning system is already being serviced. Refrigerant is a dangerous chemical that can cause severe chemical burns to the skin and eyes if improperly handled, and discharging into the atmosphere will cause damage to the ozone. Refrigerant types are updated over time, and the appropriate type must be used. If there has been an update or conversion from an older refrigerant type, a label should be placed under the hood to make your technician aware of the change. Depending on location, it may be illegal for a technician to replace refrigerant without updating the A/C system to handle the newest type.

It's all made for someone. Nothing is done in a vacuum. When we do work like this we cease to be repairmen. We become artists. Somewhere in the process above we moved from fixing to creating, and that is where I like most to be. It's why I write books, and why I do this. It's why we have a school at our car shop, to teach this trade to young people like us. I would not presume to call myself the equal of those great artists, but we too are supported by patrons of the automotive arts in the creation of works like this. It's a really cool thing, and what I love best about working at Robison Service. Stop by and see us. We can build one for you. We've been doing it now for 25 years. The black cat obviously. Did you find what mistake he was doing? His suggestion was 聯I am counting a lot of money聰. His suggestion was wrong and, thus he ultimately ended up as a cashier counting others money in the bank. So always be specific with what you want and formulate suggestions accordingly. 3 Formulating Suggestions in a positive way is another important. Avoid 聯I cant, I will, I never聰. The first one is obviously a wrongly formulated negative suggestion. Whereas, the second one is a more positively formulated suggestion. 4 After being SPECIFIC and POSITIVE, another important part in formulating suggestion is to stay in present tense. Avoid saying 聯I was good聰, 聯I was successful聰. Instead say 聯I am good聰, I am successful聰. If you follow these 3 simple tips and formulate suggestions in your life, you will be more and more healthy, wealthy and happy and successful. Now using the above formula, formulate your own suggestions according to your requirements and practice to get the desired results. Some amazing exercises and test can be learned here instantly and very easily. How to secretly hypnotize anybody and make them do what you want?

I snap down the freeway at 85 mph, other cars ceding territory to its bright LED running lights. Then, into Beverly Hills for a latte, where I鈥檓 one of the tribe. No matter that I鈥檓 an arriviste -- so is everybody else. This R8 has the larger V-10 engine, and it鈥檚 arguably more power than you need in a convertible. After all, ditching the top also means that the R8 could no longer function as a weekend racetrack car, a personal fantasy I often entertain on snowy Sundays in New York City. In the coupe, I prefer the superfast 6-speed automatic transmission, controlled by behind-the-wheel paddles. You can shift in a tenth of a second. Yet here I鈥檝e got an old-world, six-speed open-gate manual shifter. You have to negotiate the metal stick through a series of open, gaping slots large enough to drop a nickel into. On the racetrack you lose too much time finding those gears.

The Full Size Range Rover (the L322) is bigger and plusher, but also significantly more expensive. And the Sport has the advantage of being a newer design, and somewhat more nimble. It takes good maintenance to get to that point but the Rovers we've cared for right along to that mileage seem to have plenty of life left in them. The Terrain Response system made its debut in these models and it provides impressive off-road and bad-road traction. We have not seen any significant service issues with terrain response; indeed most of the gadgets on these trucks have proven trouble free. The only disappointment is that there is not a thriving off-road community building around these trucks, as developed around the original Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender. These are fully worthy vehicles. John is a longtime technical consultant to the Land Rover clubs, and he鈥檚 owned and restored many fine Rovers. Reading this article will make you smarter, especially when it comes to car stuff. So it's good for you. But don't take that too far - printing and eating it will probably make you sick.

The new Evoque sports a revised honeycomb grille bookended by thinner LED headlights that reach back into the front fenders. The tailgate is wider thanks to two-piece taillights that don't intrude far into the hatchback's cutout. Like the outgoing model, the 2020 Evoque features turbo-4 engines, a 9-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive. Base models are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 that makes 246 horsepower鈥攁 9 hp bump from the outgoing version鈥攚hile uprated versions use Range Rover's first mild-hybrid system that provides 296 hp from a turbo-4 and a 48-volt system. Range Rover didn't say if the system can drive the Evoque on electricity alone for short distances but said the 48-volt system can cut power at 11 mph or slower to save fuel. The Evoque sports the next generation of an all-wheel-drive system it helped pioneer. The Active Driveline system that's optional on most Evoques, but standard on top P300 versions, can shuttle power between front and rear wheels, simulate torque vectoring, and virtually "lock" the rear wheels on loose surfaces like sand.

However, the newer cars use tiny actuators hidden in the top. They are smaller, so the hydraulic pressure needed for a given actuation force rises. Because the hydraulics are hidden, they are often at a mechanical disadvantage (leverage in reverse) and need to push harder to move the top. The result: hydraulic pressures on a 2001 Bentley convertible top can run almost 10 times as high as the pressures on a 1987 Bentley convertible top. With that factoid in mind, it should not surprise you that the newer tops are not as reliable. In addition, the newer tops use automatic latches instead of human power to pull it shut and locked. Those latches are not as rugged as they should be. Look at a Bentley Azure and then look at an SL500. What do you see? The Bentley top is significantly larger. That multiplies the forces on every component and it鈥檚 one more reason a reliable Mercedes design didn鈥檛 work out the same on the RR/B. The next problem probably started in Crewe鈥檚 engineering department, though I doubt they would admit it.

Britain's biggest car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) could be sold to French car group PSA imminently after racking up losses of 拢3.4billion between October and December, according to leaked papers. The Tata Motors owned firm has been a target of PSA, owner of Peugeot, Citroen and Vauxhall, for several months. It is believed a 'post-sale integration document', which outlines the benefits of the two companies joining forces, is already in circulation and the firms are exploring the detail of cost savings after a tie-up. Indian company Tata Motors denied the report, which cited sources referring to an internal 'post-sale integration document', describing cost savings. Leaked information suggests a sale of struggling Jaguar Land Rover to French car group PSA could be imminent. As a matter of policy, we do not comment on media speculation, but we can confirm there is no truth to these rumours,' said a spokesperson for the Indian carmaker, which owns 100 percent of JLR. Jaguar Land Rover has been struggling in recent months, making redundancies across its business and cutting back production at its plants.

We've driven Outbacks before here at TireKicker, but never off-road, so it was good to finally get a sense of what Subaru's long-running crossover can do. All-wheel drive is part of Subaru's brand going back 40 years or more, and they are wildly popular in places where it snows anywhere from a little to a lot. But they're a very capable machine for mild off-road adventuring as well. Our test vehicle was an Outback XT and that bumps the engine down in size but up in power from a 2.5-liter BOXER four-cylinder to a turbocharged 2.4-liter four. It's a big difference. The 2.5 makes 182 horsepower. Ours was also the Onyx Edition, which is only available on the Outback XT and adds unique interior and exterior features plus dual-mode X-MODE, a software program meant to increase traction and control under the most extreme conditions. Being the more rugged and outdoorsy of the trim levels, the Onyx Edition eliminates the leather seating you'll find in other Outback XTs for a rugged and more easily cleaned vinyl. Driver's seat memory and a heated steering wheel are also deleted in the Onyx Edition. 1,845 to the price. 37.750. And that's a reasonable price for a machine that can be an economical family hauler during the week and a more capable than you might expect off-road adventurer on the weekend.

Just yesterday one of our clients called about a 2012 Range Rover in Atlanta. 鈥淚t鈥檚 got a clean Carfax,鈥?he said, but we both knew that wasn鈥檛 enough to make a decision on a 75k-plus automobile. 鈥淎sk the dealer for paint gauge readings,鈥?I suggested. In this essay I鈥檓 going to explain what that means, show you some readings, and help you understand how they are interpreted. One of the questions any professional appraisers asks is, 鈥淒oes this car have any paint work? 鈥?When I worked as a used car buyer (in the 1980s and 90s) we could spot 99% of repaired paint with our eyes. Today, computerized paint matching and improved techniques and materials have made repairs much harder to see. But paintwork and originality is just as important now as ever. We used to find paint repairs by careful examination. We checked to see if all the panels were the same color, and if metallic textures matched.

JLR inherits the 鈥楴umber One in the World鈥?title. It鈥檚 no coincidence that Jaguar鈥檚 Ian Callum and Land Rover鈥檚 Gerry McGovern are now the greatest designers on the planet, too. All tire pressure information listed is for informational purposes only. Always refer to your vehicle owner's manual for proper tire inflation pressures. It is vital to maintain proper tire inflation pressures for 2014 Land Rover LR2 tires. Low tire pressure and underinflated tires can lead to uneven and excessive tire wear, poor handling and reduced fuel economy. High tire pressure and overinflated tires can result in reduced traction, poor braking and can even be a cause of a tire blowout. Check tire pressure regularly and maintain correct tire inflation for 2014 Land Rover LR2 to enjoy a safe and comfortable drive. Recommended tire pressure for 2014 Land Rover LR2 is determined by the manufacturer based on its characteristics and original equipment tire sizes. You can find 2014 Land Rover LR2 recommended tire pressure in owner's manual or on a tire placard on the side of driver's door or door jam.

Losses at Tata鈥檚 automotive business have mounted with a slump in India鈥檚 car market, as well as trouble overseas, including an economic slowdown in China, where auto sales are sliding, and uncertainty over Brexit. Land Rover's place in history stems from a single vehicle, the Range Rover. That it's been able to stretch that into a brand, where HUMMER failed, is something of a major marketing achievement. And on the product side, it's done an admirable job dividing the sexy, five-star affairs--the Range Rover, Sport, and the new Evoque--from the mud-plugging standard bearers, including the compact luxury crossover, the 2012 Land Rover LR2. It's peasant fare, to be sure, compared to the Range Rovers--even the Evoque, which gets some of its DNA from the LR2, even. But the LR2 plugs away happily with its mission of blending a little more of the traditional Land Rover traits into a smaller, more efficient shape. There's no hardcore, off-road-ready two-speed transfer case, but the rugged-looking LR2 lives up to a lot of the macho promise baked into its crisply folded sheetmetal and its no-nonsense, only faintly luxurious interior. The LR2 comes in just one configuration, as a six-cylinder-powered, all-wheel-drive ute with good ground clearance, acceptable straight-line acceleration, and above-average handling. The six-cylinder engine is an unusual in-line powerplant: it's a smooth piece of work, if not a terribly powerful one.

When鈥檚 the last time you inspected your brake lines? Maybe it鈥檚 time for a quick check . The lines below were photographed on a 2004 Land Rover Discovery that was ten years old in the late winter of 2013. The vehicle is in good shape, not rusted or damaged. But it does live in New England, and that means the bare metal underneath is exposed to snow and salt. We see a lot of "winter vehicles" this time of year at Robison Service. Modern cars have pretty good corrosion protection for frames and bodies but we often see 鈥渙ther metal鈥?left totally bare and unprotected. That shows pretty clearly in the steel of the brake line ends. Do you see the dampness - the darkening on the curved rubber hose - that's brake fluid seeping out. And look at the deterioration of the top right fitting! As you can see, the steel crimps at the ends of the rubber hose have rusted and swelled, and the connections have started to seep.

Mazda鈥檚 ground-breaking executive express, the award-winning new Mazda6, is now even more attractive thanks to improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions making it one of the most frugal yet fun to drive cars in its class. The improvements have been made without sacrificing Mazda鈥檚 renowned fun-to-drive characteristics meaning buyers don鈥檛 have to downsize to a smaller engine to get the economy they want. The changes also strengthen new Mazda6鈥檚 credentials as the true no compromise car for motorists looking for the perfect blend of performance, economy and safety wrapped up in a highly competitive package. The improvements - the result of production modifications - also reinforce new Mazda6鈥檚 award-winning credentials. It is also one of the safest cars on Britain鈥檚 roads after receiving a 5-Star safety rating in the latest Euro NCAP tests, the highest rating possible, announced in September. The result endorses Mazda's strategy of enhancing the safety of all its new vehicles by introducing such innovations as the impact-absorbing SKYACTIV-Body technology. New Mazda6 buyers are offered a choice of 36 saloon and tourer models with three equipment levels (SE, SE-L and Sport - with or without Satellite Navigation) and four high-efficiency SKYACTIV diesel and petrol powertrains. Prices range from 拢19,595 to 拢28,295 (on-the-road).

Despite its extensive off-road capability, the Land Rover LR2 has began to fall off the map in the last few years as new competitors entered the market loaded with fresh style and the latest technology. In the meantime before the all-new model came due, the LR2 needed a proper freshening. With the 2013 Land Rover LR2, a proper freshening is just what Land Rover provided. The Brits must not think there's anything wrong with the LR2's exterior, because the sheetmetal remains almost the same. Exterior updates are limited to new HID headlights, LED taillights, and a few tweaks to the front and rear fascias. A more significant update to the sheetmetal would have been welcome, but nobody can blame Land Rover for spending the money on replacing the older and far more profitable Range Rover instead. Changes under the skin are far more substantial. Under the hood, the 3.2-liter I-6 makes way for the Evoque's 240-hp, 250-lb-ft, 2.0-liter turbo-four. The engine swap not only increases output by 10 hp and 16 lb-ft, but also increases fuel economy by a couple of mpg in the city and on the highway. The new engine improves towing capacity to 4400 pounds.

For those of us in our 50s and 60s today, a restoration like this - carefully preserved - should last the rest of our driving lives. It's beautiful and functional. For me, the best parts of these jobs are the details no one can see. We see so many shoddy superficial "restorations" that we take pride in doing work like this, whether others notice or not. In these next images you see us putting new bearings and races into a hub that's been cleaned and finished in semi-gloss ceramic. Then a new rotor is fitted up. Only Rolls Royce would do this with a dozen fine thread bolts! The ball joints are fitted into the spindle, and because it's a Rolls, they are set up by hand with .004 spacer washers. There's no magic to this work. Anyone with good mechanical skills should be able to do it. Why then is it so rare? I think it's rare because it's time consuming, and requires many different resources. There's one guy for the basic mechanics. Another for the cleaning.

Land Rover has a relatively short power train warranty when compared to recent industry trends in length power train coverage. However, it does have competitive policies for bumper-to-bumper and corrosion coverage as well as battery repair or replacement. Land Rover offers a bumper-to-bumper warranty policy for four years or 50,000 miles. This policy covers any repairs, replacements or adjustments that are needed because of defective parts or defects in workmanship. Any parts that are replaced under this warranty are covered for one year or the balance of this warranty, whichever period of time is longer. The bumper-to-bumper coverage does not include items that are expected to wear out during the warranty period from normal use, such as brake pads and oil filters. It also does not cover any damages caused by accidents. Tires are not covered by Land Rover warranty. The tire manufacturer will have its own warranty against defective tires or workmanship.

Its 2,923mm wheelbase has increased by 38mm, creating generous cabin space, while the compact design of the advanced integral-link rear suspension system minimises body intrusion. As a result, the second-row seats slide forwards and backwards by 160mm, allowing customers to optimise luggage space and rear legroom as required, as well as improving access to the third row. Discovery's trademark stadium seating is accommodated by its distinctive stepped roof and ensures all passengers enjoy excellent forward visibility and comfort. The rearmost seats have been designed to accommodate 95th percentile adults (males 1.90m tall), so comfort is assured in every seat. To celebrate the launch of New Discovery, an exclusive First Edition model limited to only 600 examples in the UK will showcase some of the key design and technology features. First Edition models are available in three striking exterior colour combinations and with two interior colourways, giving the very first customers a genuinely distinctive proposition.

Today, Infiniti has a collection of cars and SUVs under Q (sedan or coupe) and QX (SUV) designations. Which Automaker Owns Jaguar? Indian automaker Tata Motors owns Jaguar. Tata purchased Jaguar and sister brand Land Rover in 2008 from Ford, which previously owned both brands. Since then, Jaguar has built a dedicated roadster in the F-Type and even an SUV in the F-Pace. Despite the Land Rover connection, the F-Pace isn鈥檛 based on any current Rover. Which Automaker Owns Lamborghini? Lamborghini is one of the Volkswagen Group鈥檚 many brands. VW bought the Italian supercar maker in 1998, and its lineup has remained small ever since. Today, Lamborghini builds just two cars 鈥?the Huracan and Aventador 鈥?plus a few one-off models that find a handful of lucky (and uber-wealthy) owners. Which Automaker Owns Land Rover? Indian automaker Tata Motors owns Land Rover. Tata purchased the British SUV marque along with sister brand Jaguar in 2008 from Ford, which previously owned both brands.

To aid the safety parameters, there is a superb strut suspension system, having disc brakes at all corners. Unlike Land Rover 3, the LR2 model scores higher on the softness and comfortable parameters. The monocoque construction of the Land Rover LR2 2008 vehicle is the trademark of this segment of the vehicle. However, just like the Honda CR-V of the current generation, there is lot more desired and compromised at the backside. Some notable features worth mentioning and which make all the differences are HDC and DSC systems. The LR2 can be coined as a mini LR3 due its compact package. The park distance control is good to point out. Apart from typical SUV features like GPS, satellite radio, heat seats and all; the Land Rover LR2 2008 model provides panoramic sun roof, thoughtfully engineered seating arrangements. The terrain response of the LR2 is totally controlled electronically. Apart from all these statistics and advantages; what matters big times is indeed its capability off the road even. We start off with the ground clearance point, and find it to be poised at 8.3鈥? The driving is presided by all wheels, which enable any absurd inconvenience to be passed on to any portion as per requirement. The price is little higher than it deserves to be tagged for. The all new LR2 2008 from the stubble of Land Rover can be coined as an exactly compact package of style, comfort, luxury and the terrain handling capabilities. All in all, the Land Rover LR2 2008 is a multi utility vehicle, not very much on the sporty adventurous side though.

Much more genteel, yet satisfyingly brutal. Then there is the jousting, and the halberd competition. I like that the best. The only hard part is trying to sleep. The revelry goes on late into the night, with the sounds of metal on metal ringing in the chill air as modern-day knights in armor fight with swords, axes, and spears. The occasional siren breaks up the rhythm for the ones that go to the hospital, or jail. Amazingly, the cars themselves are untouched the next morning. Nothing but a little blood spatter, to wipe off with the dew. Cars are sacred here. And some of the best action of the show happens at night. Bobby Stuart from the Jensen Club set up an impromptu drag race on a deserted stretch of Mountain Road, and they whupped the Aston Martin cretins hard. As all that unfolded, the Land Rover guys were replicating Gleason's famous night time crossing of Siberia up on the Mansfield ski slopes.

From the first product briefing in a Barcelona hotel, to the dusty end of a day of off- and on-road driving, Land Rover engineers and public relations staff gave me stacks of information about the new diesel-enginedRange Rover Sport. How efficient the newly motivated SUV would be, how much it will cost buyers, facts about the technology that's gone into the new engine, notes on available feature content, and more. But, before I'd turned a wheel in the freshest Range Rover family member, the most intriguing bit was this: in blind pre-production testing, not a single participant had identified that the vehicle they were driving was diesel-powered. To put it bluntly, I was skeptical. Were the driver's fashionistas whose only conception of "diesel" was as a slightly bro-y clothing company? Perhaps the unwitting test-drivers were casually selected from queue-standers at the local Beltone hearing test center? As it turns out, Land Rover has done a lot of work to make the 3.0-liter, "Td6" turbodiesel as quiet as possible.

Though the 2018 edition of the Paris Motor Show doesn鈥檛 begin until early October, we already have a good idea as to what some of the show鈥檚 biggest stars are likely to be. Following on from March鈥檚 Geneva Motor Show as the second major European automotive exhibition of the calendar year, the Paris Motor Show alternates with the International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt every year. Paris 2016 certainly didn鈥檛 disappoint on the new car front, either. With hugely important electric concept cars from Volkswagen and Mercedes in the form of the I.D. Generation EQ hitting the stands. Audi looks set for a big Paris show, with the firm's new A1 supermini all set to make its public debut. We've had our first look at the second-generation Volkswagen Polo rival and the show will be our first proper oppurtunity to get up close and personal with the new A1. Elsewhere, the venerable A4 has been spied testing ahead of a facelift, while the A6 Avant range will expand with a tough Allroad version in Paris too.

Exhaust gases were blowing out between the head and the block. It seemed like a classic case of fire ring failure in the head gasket. In years past, I'd have been right on it with new head gaskets and a cleaned up heads. Today, not so quick . As it happens, our caution turned out to be well founded. Here are both heads off the motor. As clearly shown, only one has a blowout (second cylinder from the left, upper head) So far, it looks like a blown gasket. OK, now lets look at a closeup of the failed cylinder in that upper head. The blowout line is in the center. Look at the holes for the head bolts. The one on the left is actually facing the front of the engine, as you are seeing the head upside down (we will look at that hole in the block in a minute) Note how its orange from coolant intrusion.

The scope of work is much broader in a restoration while repair of a car tends to be limited to what can be seen. There is also the question of cosmetics. We always want the brakes to work like new after service. Do we want them to look like new as well? In some cases we're asked to make them look better than new. We can do that too. Contrast that with these brakes from a 1993 Bentley, which look better than new. In this case the formerly unfinished cad plate calipers (dabbed with green paint to signify mineral oil) have been finished in high temp high gloss ceramic, which should hold this wet look through seasons of use. This next photo shows an older front end, from a 1972 Rolls Royce. In this job we retained the original "bare metal" look on the calipers but preserved it with clear ceramic. We refinished the steel pipes in the original chromate, and fitted new hoses. You'll also see newly replaced hardware (silver cad) and beautiful hard high gloss black powder on the spindle and suspension arms.

But if you forget you're in Command, it won't always help you. We were in sixth gear one time, and slowed down for a 35-mph speed zone in a town; when we got through the town and accelerated, nothing happened because the gear was too high. It wasn't just slow, really: nothing happened. We downshifted two gears and all was well again. Okay, we were punished for forgetting; but we like that better than a transmission whose programming is annoyingly overprotective, because it invariably does things you don't want it to, and doesn't do things you do want it to. On the other hand, you can simply select Drive and the transmission does everything automatically. The ride is excellent, maybe even exceptional. Our 400 hard miles with no stiffness or soreness attests to that. Way out in the country on a long straight road, we hit a series of deep long dips at 100 mph, and the LR2 stayed true, even when the front wheels got a bit light at the top, once.

You feel like no obstacle is too challenging, and for the most part, you are right. Minimum ground clearance is 8.26 inches, which is a little low when dealing with big boulders, but despite a few bangs and grinds, the LR2 soldiers on without complaint. Wading depth is 19.7 inches making shallow water crossings a piece of cake. I crossed a 200-yard river full of ice-boulders during my time in Montreal driving the LR2. It was effortless, and at times I swear we were deeper than 19.7 inches, although perhaps that was merely perception. Deep mud, steep climbs and descents provide only a minor grievance. Simply add a bit of additional power and the car blasts through like it's taking a Sunday morning stroll to pick up the latest copy of Outdoor magazine. The reason the LR2 (and all Land Rovers) can handle such extreme conditions with grace is their immaculate Haldex four-wheel-drive system.

Aside from the addition of the SVR model, there were few changes for the 2015 Range Rover Sport. Blind-spot monitors gained closing vehicle sensing and reverse traffic detection, and the puddle lamps were upgraded to project a silhouette of the vehicle, instead of an outline of the Range Rover Sport logo, when you approach. Land Rover's InControl suite of smartphone connectivity apps was made available. For 2016, Land Rover offered a Range Rover Sport with a diesel engine in the U.S. The Td6 uses a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine that makes 254 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. Highway mileage tops out at 29 mpg. A new HST Limited Edition model was added in 2016, straddling the gap between the supercharged V-6 and supercharged V-8 models. It got a 380-hp version of the V-6, unique chassis tuning, and some special design touches, borrowing some visual cues from the recently added SVR model.

The rims must appear round (no dents) and free of cracks or damage. If you are running the tires that the car comes to us with we will torque the wheels in the shop. We look in at the brakes and suspension. Brake pads must be less than half worn (this means the pad material must be noticeably thicker than the backing plate) with no 鈥渓ow pad鈥?lamp showing on the dash. This brake rotor is showing cracks at the vent holes and some ridge at the edge. You need fresh brake fluid every year no matter what, and if you run in the more aggressive classes you will need fresh fluid every so many runs. We often flush fluid as part of inspection. Some cars can be bled by pressure or foot pumps while others require use of a tool to activate pumps. Brake hoses must be less than 10 years old, unless the carmaker specifies changing then sooner, in which case they need to be within that limit. This car鈥檚 brake hoses are obviously original.

This requires extensive knowledge of the car line and model under study. Here at Robison Service we produce a written inspection report backed up with photos, and I would expect the same in any intensive inspection. But keep in mind that time is money - a really thorough inspection backed up with a well-documented report may cost you 6-8 hours of labor. Checking everything I list above is not a quick casual thing. That said, you don't always need that extensive a check. In some cases you may be well enough served by paying for 1-2 hours of the inspectors time and a verbal report. I encourage is to have the seller present when the car is inspected, and I recommend you ask the inspector to present his findings to the seller. That way you have less chance of a seller disagreeing with what鈥檚 being reported - he can disagree right then and there and a good inspector will support his position or recognize his error.

Land Rover lineup. But the British marque has now announced a series of minor upgrades - previewed by the spy shots we brought you in July - that seek to keep the LR4 at the top of its game. The updates consists primarily of a subtle facelift and some new tech. Up front you'll find a new grille, bumper, headlights and daytime running lights. There are also new wheel designs available, of course, but the badging updates - including "Discovery" lettering replacing the "Land Rover" on the nose - won't be making the transatlantic voyage since the model goes by an alphanumeric designation here. Land Rover has also integrated some of the electronics developed for the new Range Rovers, including the depth sounder and various traffic monitoring systems. There's also a new Meridian audio system available, and Land Rover has integrated its stop/start system and eight-speed automatic transmission across the range. Details have only been announced at this point for the UK market, where the revised model will begin delivery in November, but expect the changes to hit US showrooms shortly thereafter. In the meantime we'll anticipate scoping out the changes at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

An 8-way power driver's seat, heated leather upholstery, a moonroof and a navigation system are optional. The Terrain's second-row seat adjusts fore and aft. There's a plastic floor panel behind the seat that can be folded down to create a gap-free cargo floor. With the second row down, maximum cargo volume totals 63.9 cubic feet. Both the 4-cylinder and the V-6 employ direct-injection technology. The four-cylinder displaces 2.4 liters and makes 182 horsepower; the V-6 displaces 3.0 liters and makes 264 hp. An "Eco" mode, activated by a dashboard button, alters drivetrain calibrations in the 4-cylinder to maximize fuel efficiency. GM says Eco mode helps the Terrain achieve its highway mileage figures. When properly equipped, maximum towing capacity with the four-cylinder is 1,500 pounds. With the V-6, it rises to 3,500 pounds. Six airbags, including side-impact airbags for the front seats and side curtain airbags for both rows, are standard. So are four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, traction control and an electronic stability system. Maximum Cargo Volume 63.9 cu. Max Trailer Weight 1,500 lbs.

The focus of carmakers is to make money by keeping customers happy so they buy more cars. Good service on new cars is part of that. The dynamic for a third party administrator is totally different. They make money from finance, by collecting fees for service contracts and paying out as little as possible. Once those folks manage the car鈥檚 service, everything changes. Yet the motoring public knows nothing of this. Everyone tries to hide this ugly truth. Many dealers are told they cannot charge customers extra for so-called certified repairs. That is presumably meant to prevent gouging, but in practice it ensures no dealer technician will waste a single unpaid minute chasing a difficult intermittent problem. The system works for most people, most of the time, because most problems are not intermittent and motorists learn to ignore the rest. For the rest of you . We鈥檙e here in Springfield, Massachusetts, and we鈥檒l diagnose and fix anything at our regular shop rate. If an extended warranty pays us, great. If not, the owner can pay. From the shop perspective that鈥檚 the only fair way to do this. We get our clients everything we can from their service contracts and they pay the balance. We charge for actual time worked, and WE WILL solve the problem.

SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline. This Mazda 3 is estimated to deliver 27 city/38 highway (SKYACTIV-MT) and 28 city/38 highway (SKYACTIV Drive-AT). Highway estimates slightly lower rate can be attributed to the different aerodynamic and weight-highest among the sedan and hatchback. But driving the car is still impressive, with over 500 miles of pipe in the tank the same size as the sedan. The MZR 2.0-liter will not be available in hatchback. The highest fuel economy of Mazda 2012 3 SKYACTIV features is the direct result of combining the best features of technology in today's transmissions. To SKYACTIV-Drive, the main advantages of a conventional automatic transmission, continuously variable transmission (CVT) and dual clutch transmission (DCT) have been integrated. In addition, a torque converter lock-up clutch has been developed to ensure minimal decrease in fuel consumption and an increase in the direct sense. For SKYACTIV-MT, the objective was to achieve a sense of discrepancy that is sporty, fresh and responsive to the driver. Also available on 2012 Mazda 3 is the popular Mazda MZR 2.5-liter engine. Meanwhile SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter, 2.5 MZR is a technology leader as well.

The all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender may be the most anticipated new car launch of 2019. Jaguar Land Rover has let us know the new version will be coming to America. We鈥檝e seen the camouflaged spy shots and the official camouflaged spy shots. Land Rover retired the original Defender in 2016 after a 67-year production run, in large part due to looming new European emissions standards that would make selling the old model more difficult. Pent-up demand in the US market isn鈥檛 the only reason the new vehicle鈥檚 launch is so hotly anticipated, even among those who don鈥檛 consider themselves Defender heads; there鈥檚 also the sheer scale of Land Rover鈥檚 challenge. The Defender has always been the ultimate body-on-frame throwback SUV鈥攁 nostalgic vehicle whose eccentricities helped fueled the demand for it. In order to succeed in the present-day landscape, Land Rover must reimagine the Defender as a modern, unibody construction without sacrificing charm or capability. A vehicle that originated as a humble agricultural tool must now become a genuine luxury car as well. To add to the pressure: With recent financial difficulties mounting, Jaguar Land Rover needs the new Defender to be a rousing success more than ever. Can they do justice to the name? It seems we鈥檒l find out in September.

Are you wondering what service are due on your late model Land Rover? Read on . . For the 2010 model year, Land Rover changed from 7,500 to 15,000 miles for its basic service interval. They now recommend service annually, or every 15,000 miles, whichever comes first. High performance synthetic oil is now required. 路 Thanks to a larger element, the change interval on the air filter has been increased to 60-75,000 miles. In many cases, improvements in service parts, fluids, and vehicle design do make these longer service intervals possible without compromise. Unfortunately, if the extended service intervals prove insufficient, LR warranty will be long since expired, and the owner will be left to face what might have been preventable failures. 路 Even with long life oils, I suggest oil changes at 10,000 mile intervals or annually. The incremental costs of these extra oil changes are trivial when compared to the expense of any internal engine repair that might otherwise result from sludge building or accelerated wear. 路 The brake fluid change interval is based on brake fluid鈥檚 natural tendency to absorb moisture from the air. 路 I think leaving transmission and differential fluids in those components for ten years is ridiculous; it invites disaster. I would change all those fluids by 75,000 miles, just like the transfer case lube. 路 Land Rover is not the first company to extend coolant change intervals to a decade. I have my doubts about that, but the ph. If you plan to leave in in place, I encourage you to test it annually. If you cant do that, replacement is the safer bet in my opinion. 路 Land Rover no longer recommends scanning all systems at every service, but I recommend that be done anyway. The reason: It鈥檚 the only way to tell if electronic faults are current or recent.

Come on down and TEST DRIVE! Just a couple days away from an amazing one of a kind auction! What does the SVT stand for you ask? It stands for "Specialty Vehicle Team", a separate in-house division that designs and BUILDS the engines for SVT badged cars like this Ford Contour. And besides being equipped with a 'special engine' it also has sport-tuned suspension and exterior styling enhancements make it even more desirable. NO RESERVE means NO RESERVE! Limited and perfect for a family who is looking for the lowest price in the United States on a turn key and go Minivan! I just walked around this No Reserve Windstar and saw it has a very good body. The only blemish I could find was a scuff on the slider door. Good tires on alloy wheels. Very clean inside with the nice captain style chairs. Overall drives very well. Must see in person to appriciate!

Like so many other recent M cars, it has an automatic gearbox without an initial creep function. Engage first, ease off the brake pedal and鈥?nothing happens. That鈥檚 fine, perhaps, in something smaller and lighter, but I reckon most owners will want their 2.3-tonne, 567bhp luxury SUV to look after them better than that. Those owners will likewise probably want that performance SUV to be usable and easy to drive - just like the SVR. The Range Rover gives you one dial to flick when you want to really stretch its legs: Dynamic mode. There are lots of off-road modes, too, but given that the BMW has no answer for most of them, we鈥檒l leave them to one side. Instead, the X5 M has a whole panel of buttons to individually tweak steering weight, gearbox and engine response, damper setting and traction and stability control sensitivity. Configurability is the M division way of things, of course.

This metric is calculated by tracking millions of unique vehicles over multiple years to determine an average number of visits per year for each make and model. Controls were included to omit small routine visits to shops such as for oil changes. The severity component to reliability measures the probability that a repair will be a major issue. An issue is considered severe if a repair costs three-times the average annual repair cost for all models, an amount deemed prohibitively expensive given the unscheduled nature of the repair. This threshold is higher for premium and luxury brands, which have higher labor rates and parts costs. The average total annual cost for unscheduled repairs and maintenance across all model years of a vehicle. Higher average cost alone does not necessarily mean a vehicle is less reliable. For example, parts and labor for your vehicle may be expensive, especially if it is a European luxury car, but if severe issues and annual average visits to the shop are low, that's a good indicator of a reliable car. The average number of times the vehicle is brought into the shop for unscheduled repairs and maintenance in a single year.

If you live in snow country you know convertible and sports car season is coming to an end. Soon it will be time to put our pets away till next year. In this article I鈥檇 like to offer some pointers for storing late model collector cars. Start by filling your car with fuel and pouring in the correct amount of fuel stabilizer. I suggest Sta-Bil brand but alternatives are available. A full gas tank minimizes the chance of condensation which happens when water vapor from the air condenses on the inside of the gas tank as temps drop in the evening. If this happens every day in a car that鈥檚 in storage you can accumulate a great deal of water in the fuel. Filling the tank to the top will prevent it. I also suggest pouring in a bottle of octane booster as the fuel will lose octane rating the longer it is stored. Note: cars built after the 1990s have sealed fuel tanks which should not allow free circulation of vapors.

NASA has picked a landing site for its upcoming Mars 2020 rover. The space agency will try to land its nuclear-powered robot in Jezero Crater, a giant impact near the Martian equator. Jezero Crater was a water-rich area billions of years ago on Mars, and it might still hide signs of alien life such as microbes. NASA hopes to dig up and store Martian soil samples 鈥?for the first time in human history 鈥?for a future launch back to Earth. NASA has finally announced where it plans to land the Mars 2020 rover and dig for signs of alien life in the red planet's soil. The car-size robot is expected to land inside the 28-mile-diameter Jezero Crater, an ancient impact site located just north of the Martian equator. It was one of more than 60 sites that NASA internally analyzed and debated over a number of years. Jim Bridenstine, the administrator of NASA, said in a tweet on Monday. NASA's Mars 2020 rover is made from a backup of the Curiosity rover, which landed on Mars in August 2012 and has roamed the red planet on nuclear power ever since. Thomas Zurbuchen, NASA's associate administrator, said in the release. Jezero Crater, which is about two-thirds the size of the US state of Rhode Island, was officially named in 2007 after a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The name means "lake" in several Slavic languages, and it is no coincidence; the impact site was once rich with liquid water. Like Curiosity, NASA plans to use a death-defying "sky crane" system to plunk the 2,315-lb robot on the Martian surface. However, the sky crane for Mars 2020 will come with a massive artificial-intelligence-powered upgrade, called "terrain relative navigation," which could help the robot avoid hitting any hazards as it lands.

3500) includes a DVD-based navigation system, Dolby Pro Logic II Surround Sound system, Sirius satellite radio, rear seat audio controls and Bluetooth telephone system. 1050) includes bi-Xenon adaptive headlamps (they swivel in the direction of turns), approach and puddle lights, and a memory driver seat and mirrors. 700) includes heated front seats and a heated windshield and washer jets. Safety equipment includes electronic stability control with anti-roll technology, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. There are seven airbags: two-stage frontal bags, side-impact bags for the front seats, airbag curtains for both rows, and a final small airbag for the driver's knees. There's no mistaking the LR2 for anything but a Land Rover. Your neighbors might think it's a Range Rover, although it's 18.6 inches shorter overall and 6.5 inches less high. But its wheelbase is only 6.5 inches less, giving it a total of one less foot of overhangs, which makes it more modern and compact.

Washer nozzles can clog (you can clean them with strands of wire) and get bent out of aim. Fix them now, and make sure your washer reservoir is filled with the right washer solvent. Don鈥檛 know where the solvent goes? On most cars the washer reservoir is white or translucent and has a pop off lid, as shown. Most washer fluid is light blue in color. The next item to check is your coolant, which is also called antifreeze. Early cars used water in their cooling systems. Newer vehicles use sophisticated chemical blends to achieve the combination of cooling efficiency and corrosion reduction that today鈥檚 cars require. Coolant absorbs chemicals from the engine, and it can become corrosive if it鈥檚 left in a car too long. That鈥檚 why most car makers suggest changing coolant every three or four years, even if you don鈥檛 drive a lot. For many years there was only one kind of antifreeze, which was green in color.

We slammed the vents shut and started up the 2.25P and headed out, me driving and Marla swatting as many of the little vampires as she could. Did I mention it was hot? When we opened the windows or the vents the mossies went into hiding. Later to pop out when the Rover stopped. Since Series Rovers don't come with air conditioning ventilation is a necessity! My 109 has rear windows and screens, but sometimes you want/need more. Especially if you are in the front and want some crossflow air movement. Without screens sometimes it is not available. I was watching some show on YuuuuuuuTuuuuube and suddenly I had an idea for a front door window bug screen. Needing material I searched my garage for the right size rod to make a prototype. Next up was the screen. I have some nylon screen left over from a house project and putting the rod on top of it I marked off an extra inch for the overlay. At this point I was thinking I could just glue it or heat it up and melt it together. That didn't work out in testing, but the gluing might. My glue test was still curing so I tore off some strips of the nylon screen and used them to sew the rod inside the screen. Here is how it looks fitted. You can see that there is an opening where the glass is but I don't think any critter will find it easily. I would really like to have it be accessible for installation/removal from the inside. I think that could be doable with something made from one of those pop open sun screens frames. There is a gap at the back as my frame rod is not long enough. I think 5' would be just fine. I might just take it apart and weld a foot into it. Then it would have pressure to fit the back glass.

Based on ones prerequisite, you can install these canopies any place in the institution. To make it represent a great extension you can place the particular canopies as separate areas about edge in the building or maybe backyard. With out tampering with all the initial construction and building you can increase the place inside the classes with all the canopies. The problem involving guarded place demands intended for kindergartens, colleges and educational institutions is very easily sorted with all the canopies. This backyard playgrounds are classified as the most liked location for the youngsters to shell out time period. These kind of classes canopies can be purchased in many hues, patterns and sizing鈥檚. It is possible to install bright shaded canopy inside the classes as the youngsters are generally fascinated by bright hues. It is possible to provide the youngsters of the classes a fantastic comfort and protected environment by means of installing canopies.

They delegate the responsibility of reading and writing applications to their trainees and paralegals. I do not even know why lawyers charge such heavy fees for not doing any hard work. Lawyers do not even tell you which documents to send when you file application. They keep asking documents one by one. Can't they keep a list of all documents for each application form and send it to their clients in advance. Such problems are faced with people who have both big lawyers and small lawyers. It seems lawyers select each other. I wish they had clients rating lawyers and not peer review. No wonder only the worst students of law become immigration lawyers. Oops, i said something bad! Not sure how true this is but I got this email from my friend who is also an IV member. International Airports. Be watchful when ever you give your passport to Immigration/ Customs/Air India staff.

A car whose brake safety lamps are not working is not safe to drive, as it could have total brake failure with no warning. To proceed with testing, start the car. Watch how long it takes for the lights to go out. They will typically flicker briefly before extinguishing. If one or both lights do not go out you probably have one or two failed pumps, which is a no-drive fault. If the lights remain on more than 20 seconds the hydraulic pumps are probably weak. That's not a no drive fault but it indicates the need for professional inspection and probably service. Run the car 2 more minutes, shut it off, and turn the key back on. Begin slowly pumping the brake and note how many pumps before the Brake 1 and 2 lamps illuminate. If you see the lamps come on (either or both) in 5 pumps of less, the car is not safe to drive.

As with bigger bro, the Sport gets either the 340-horsepower 3.0-liter supercharged V6 or the 510-horsepower 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that are fitted with stop/start tech. Both run through a ZF eight-speed transmission, and power is put to the ground through a single-speed Torsen differential or an optional two-speed transfer case with low range. Commanding that increased off-road capability is the Terrain Response 2 system and its new Automatic setting. It has more articulation to play with, the brand new aluminum suspension worth 21.2 degrees of articulation - and the emergency off-road high setting gets higher while the access height goes even lower. The interior wears more soft-touch materials; features a smaller, thicker steering wheel; more sculpting and padding in the front seats and individual seating for rear occupants. 93,295 for the Autobiography. Even with all that, we haven't begun to tell you about its new features, so have a seat and a drink while you enjoy the exhaustive press release below. We'll have live pictures coming soon from the floor of the New York Auto Show.

Another question聟 If AMSOIL is so great, then why doesn't GM use it instead of Mobil 1 as a factory fill in their Corvettes and other high performing sports cars? Thats an excellent question. If you were General Motors, would it be in your BEST INTEREST to have the cars you sold lasting for hundreds of thousands of miles because of some super, high quality oil you told everyone to use? Wouldnt you be shooting yourself in the foot? As an auto manufacturer, YOU WANT REPEAT CUSTOMERS to come back every few years, not people who will keep cars for hundreds of thousands of miles because their engines run too well. We can't go out and say that Mobil or other oil companies make bad oil, but if you look at the comparisons and see the bigger wear scars that Mobil and others put out vs. AMSOIL, you can clearly see that over a long period of time, that Mobil and the rest can wear out your engine quicker than AMSOIL would.

The diesel came in 2 versions with 3 different power ratings. 150 horses or 160 were standard on Td4 versions while Sd4 versions came with 190 horses. The 3.2 I6 had 230 horses. Towards the end of its life in 2014 the the LR2 dropped the I6 in favor of a version of Ford鈥檚 2.0 Ecoboost I4. This engine was shared with the Evoque. This new engine helped the LR2 shead 88 lbs and helped fuel economy, but only gave the LR2 a 10 horse advantage over the old 6 cylinder. The LR2 was sold from 2006-2014. It was replaced the following year with the problematic and Explore-esque Discovery Sport. While its hard to find sales pre 2009, from 2009-2015, 310,619 Freelander/LR2鈥檚 were sold around the world. And while the vehicle was constantly popular in Europe, it was never a hot seller in the US. In 2004 for instance, just 5,430 were sold and in 2006, just 13 were sold the first few months of the year. If you鈥檙e looking for one used, they can be had for cheap, as depreciation was not kind to these things. I checked online, and for some reason there are only 2 first gen Freelanders for sale in the entire state of California. I couldn鈥檛 explain that. 10-17k depending on miles and year, with 鈥?4s and 鈥?5s being the more expensive. Thats if you want to buy one though. I cant bring myself to think of one good reason why anyone would buy one of these things used when Range Rovers and LR3s of the same vintage go for similar money.

The transverse engine mounting not only frees up interior space but offers impressive crash performance, helping the LR2 achieve a 5 star Euro NCAP rating for adult occupant protection. Terrain Response delivers the most sophisticated four wheel-drive technology in the sector ensuring the LR2 is equipped for every surface it may encounter, from sand to tarmac. Four settings remain for 2011 catering for general driving, slippery conditions such as grass, gravel, or snow, mud and ruts and sand. Terrain response also oversees the stability controls and traction aids such as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Electronic Traction Control (ETC) and ABS according to the selected terrain. It also engages Hill Descent Control (HDC) to suit the selected terrain and changes the setting of the electronic center coupling to optimize the four wheel-drive system in off-road conditions. In addition, Terrain Response includes Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Roll Stability Control (RSC) Engine Drag Control (EDC) and Gradient Release Control (GRC). The many functions of Terrain Response are underpinned by the high levels of body stiffness which provide the best foundation for excellent ride and handling characteristics as well as off-road performance. A structural undertray on the front sub-frame improves steering precision as well as protecting the underside of the vehicle and four point engine mounting aids engine stability and improves refinement. As with all Land Rovers, the LR2 is rigorously tested worldwide in the UK, USA, Middle East, Australia and Russia in temperatures ranging from -40掳F to 122C掳 and up to 95 percent humidity. The LR2 is also tested at altitudes of up to 13,100 ft.

The most desirable Land Rovers of modern times are the few hundred 1993 model year Defender 110 models that were sold in America. At those prices you do not see many of these trucks crashing through the woods of Western Massachusetts and Vermont, or mountaineering in Moab. They are just too valuable, and the Series trucks are too old. Yet we have plenty of clients with Defenders on Long Island, Nantucket, and Martha鈥檚 Vineyard. A small number of Defenders were privately imported to the United States, and a few more trickle in every year. Those trucks occupy a lower price point that the US market Defenders, with most of the same characteristics. The grey market Defenders often come with diesel engines and other options that were never sold in the USA - something many enthusiasts find very desirable. Models with the 300TDI and TD5 engines are particularly desirable, as are military models.

Tomorrow I am going on holiday to Majorca. Although I am very excited about enjoying some fun in the sun, I am also a little nervous. I hate flying. In truth I am absolutely petrified. When my friends suggested a girlie holiday in the sun I was extremely excited. I earn enough money and was happy to go for at least two weeks. I presumed they would want to somewhere in Spain or Greece. Maybe one of the Balearic islands such as Ibiza. However it seemed as I was wrong. They fancied going a little further afield. Cancun, Miami and somebody even suggested Australia. The money was not the issue but the flight time was. I could not face a long haul flight. I was just too scared. I once flew to the Canary Island of Tenerife which takes about four hours. That is the longest flight I have ever done and I just know that I would not survive any longer than that. I reluctantly want to the travel agents with the other girls. I knew I would end up booking with them no matter where they decided to go. I didn't want to miss out. I started to look up statistics on the internet which explained that it was much safer to travel by plane than to drive in your Land Rover Discovery Sussex car. It might be true but it didn't seem that way in my head. Thankfully the girls soon realised that they would be stretching the budget that little bit too far if they decided to head for far off shores, hence we are going to Majorca. It is only a two hour flight but I am still very nervous. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that there is no turbulence or horrid thunders storms!

For 2019, there鈥檚 a new Wade Sensing System on offer that provides real-time wading depth information when fording water. The Discovery鈥檚 options are spread across three grades: SE, HSE, and HSE Luxury. The Discovery doesn鈥檛 lack in safety. Along with the usual suite of airbags, all units come with a 360-degree camera system, parking sensors all around, rain-sensing wipers, and, for 2019, lane-keeping assist and rear cross-traffic detection. There鈥檚 even a clear exit monitor, which warns rear occupants of approaching obstacles to each rear door, via a warning light next to the door handle. Scale the trim ladder, and you鈥檒l gain blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with a traffic crawling function, high-speed emergency braking, and traffic-sign recognition with adaptive speed limitation. There is no published crash-test information regarding the Discovery. In a world of crossovers and SUVs that look handsome and go down the road in reasonable comfort, the Land Rover Discovery stands out for making good on the promises that its name and styling make. There鈥檚 plenty here to please anyone looking for a large, versatile luxury SUV. Kyree is new to the automotive journalism scene, but has voiced snarky public opinions about cars for quite some time. When he's not drooling over the latest European luxury sled, he's designing web experiences or writing backend code.

Mechanically, it鈥檚 just as tough as more rugged looking brethren from the same stable and, as a plus, rust proofing keeps panels and the frame from corroding. Despite its size, hard cornering demonstrates how stable this 4x4 is - making twisty lanes and tight country roads a pleasure, lording it up with either a V8 burble or diesel growl among the hedgerows. In town, the lines and stance blend with every urban landscape you can find. The P38a appears to make itself at home regardless of surroundings - whether outside the Savoy in the damp streetlight or plugging through the mud during a snowstorm. C'mon - what are the benefits of a P38? The load space is enormous, with seating extremely comfortable and easy to clean - making it the perfect wagon for the dogs or, even more destructive; the children. The view from behind the wheel is unmatched with a high position and big windows all round. You can suit up and go to a business meeting or suit up and go exploring in the middle of a moor. A great plus is the room inside; Land Rover are notorious for being unfriendly to the larger gentleman, yet I'm 6ft 6in and fit very comfortably in the seats, with plenty of headroom to boot. The air suspension also means that, no matter what you place in the back, the cars sits beautifully square on the road. A joy to drive. Why did I buy a Range Rover P38? Stylish, classless, tough, cheap to buy, comfortable, useful and genuinely cool. As numbers thin, rough examples are broken for parts or scrapped or written-off, we are now left to fight over the good ones. Prices are on the rise, with healthy early examples now changing hands for more than 拢10,000.
