Once I had all the bolt holes drilled, I began cutting the access panel holes out of the mat. Cuts were also made around the handbrake lever. I used an X-Acto knife and number 11 blade to cut the mat. I drew the line in pencil using a straightedge, then scored it, then flexed the mat along thew score line and carefully cut it down. Land Rover went with a 9-speed mostly in the name of efficiency, but thanks to the Disco鈥檚 heft, fuel economy sits at a middle-of-the-road 20 city and 26 highway miles-per-gallon. That鈥檚 better than some larger-engined options but still on the low side. Good thing gas is cheap at the moment. If installing an Android Car Stereo in your car, that would be great!

If the formula of creating compact SUVs with sedans as their base is successful when it comes to mainstream brands such as Honda, Subaru, and Toyota, what more if luxury brands have one on their line up? Lexus started this trend back in 1998 (a year earlier for the twin named Toyota Harrier) with their RX300 that is based on the Lexus ES sedan, basically a glorified and more expensive Toyota Camry. It may cause some stir on this statement, while the Land Rover Freelander arrived a year earlier (and sold at the same time with the Harrier), the Lexus sparked the market and had German brands develop theirs. Filipino Bimmer fans had to wait until late 2004 for the arrival of the X3 in our shores. Initially, it was offered with a gasoline engine but a mid cycle refresh in 2007 had the 2.0 diesel engine paired with a stick (it was only in its category to offer one) than an automatic box.

Different enough that my previous instructions aren't accurate. The 2015 model lacks the small plastic tabs to press and release the sensor/switch from the latch assembly. The older part number (for my 2008 LR3) is LR041431 (previously LR024358). That part won't work on the 2015 model. The sensor on the 2015 model is integral to the latch mechanism and doesn't separate. It's glued into it. The part number for the 2015 LR4 is LR054331 / LR065340. You can see from the images below that the new model doesn't have the release tabs that I described in an old post here and is bolted onto the chassis. I haven't tried installling it yet, but it looks like it will be easy. Step 1. Open the hood. Step 2. (optional) Remove the grill for improved access. It's super easy. There's even illustrated instructions in the owner's manual. Step 3. Use a Torx T30 driver to remove the latch mechanism assembly. Step 4. Disconnect the electrical connector on the back side by pressing the tab on the connector. Step 5. Remove the hood release cable. Step 6. Set aside the old latch assembly and grab the new one. Step 7. Insert the hood release cable into the new latch. Step 8. Connect the electrical connector. Step 9. Mount the latch assembly with the same T30 bolts. Step 10. Reinstall the grill (if you removed it). Line up the black plastic pins that insert into holes near the headlamps. Push forward to insert the top tabs. Press to expand the top tabs to ensure that they properly fasten. Lift each tab if needed.

Despite the 110鈥檚 hefty weight of about 2.5 tons, which rivals many full-size pickups and even heavy-duty trucks powered by V-8s, Land Rover says the turbo-4 will power the Defender 110 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds.

In the past, the Mazda 6 has never been a dominant player in its segment. Mazda is always seeking to change that, and with the 2014 redesign, Mazda doesn't stray on its quest to pumping up its sales dramatically. Though the side windows are shaped similarly to the outgoing generation, the new 6 is significantly more angry-looking than before. The aggressive shapes translate to a .26 drag coefficient, meaning air resistance is minimal. For reference, the Prius has a .25 drag coefficient while a Camry has a .28 drag coefficient. Plus, the new 6 is a lot sexier than a Prius. The car itself should be sportier as well. 220 to 375 pounds have to dropped on the new 6, depending on trim level. A Mazda 6 with all the goodies is said to only weigh 3109 pounds, less then a Chevrolet Cruze. Combined with new SkyActiv four-cylinder engines, gas mileage shouldn't disappoint.
