Obtain sensor specifications from a reliable source; you can send us an e-mail from the Help Link and we can assist with most information. Hook up a scan tool with the ability to monitor sensor valves (PIDS) and pull up the mass air flow sensor. Record your MAF sensor reading at idle, and again at various RPM ranges. Compare the values against specifications. Next, start from idle and increase throttle opening while watching MAF reading. Increase should be steadily proportional to RPM change. Perform the same checks while lightly tapping on the sensor, or heating the sensor with a blow dryer. Any fluctuation, or out of specification reading indicates a mass air flow sensor, or related wiring concern. Repair and retest. I would also recommend monitoring MAF values while driving the vehicle and checking readings while the concern is present. Have an assistant drive while checking these readings. If the mass air flow reading is within specification while a concern comes and goes then it is not likely the problem. Be sure to check all air intake connections and gaskets, as well as the air filter before faulting the sensor, as these types of concerns can affect readings. It is possible that the sensor is just contaminated from age or use of oil saturated, aftermarket air filters. You could try exposing the sensor hot wire (once the sensor is removed from the vehicle) and cleaning it with electronic parts cleaner and low pressure air. Use appropriate cautions. Once the sensor is clean, reassemble and install and check operation, you may be pleasantly surprised! I hope this information has been helpful. Thanks for visiting , and have a great day!

BMW's storied history of building roadsters dates back to the original 328 of the 1930s. However, there have been gaps in the brand's open-top lineage, including one extended stretch through the '60s, '70s and '80s. After a dalliance with the bizarre European market Z1, BMW finally got serious about roadsters again in the '90s with the introduction of the Z3. Earlier this year, the Munich brand introduced what's essentially the third generation of its modern mainline roadster (discounting the aforementioned low-volume Z1 and the Z8) in the shape of its all-new Z4. Upon its introduction, the esteemed Mr. Harley took our first crack at the new "E89" at its Southern California launch last spring and came away with mixed feelings. To be fair, whenever an automaker builds a new model, there's always a distinction between what the engineers and designers expect of it and what consumers bank on. There's also a big difference between spending a few hours on a prescribed driving route under controlled conditions versus living with a car as a daily driver for a week or longer.

One option available for models 2012-is a new Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system. BSM system helps drivers avoid accidents that occur often in difficult situations spaced, like brushing against another vehicle during lane changes and merging traffic. 24GHz radar sensors located at the rear of the vehicle designed to detect vehicles approaching within 13 meters left or right, and within 26 feet from the rear. When a vehicle is detected in the area of the blind spot, the direction indicator lamps housed in the door mirrors light. If a turn signal is activated when the lights are on, they blink and a beep is an additional warning. Also available is an optional Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) with auto-leveling bi-xenon headlights. AFS offers a wider range of vision when cornering, which increases the driver's eyes away and visible point, taking into account both steering angle and vehicle speed to change the focus at an angle.

Car production in the UK flies under the radar for many even in it's home nation. With few local brand names to identify with, and most British too apathetic to bother finding out about it, many are unaware of it's success. That reality of that is shown in production figures, where exports account for about 80% of the total and penetration of locally made cars in the UK market is less than 13%! Nice for the German and other car makers who benefit from such ignorance. The third generation is here! Below is a list of production, with 5,000 being the cut off. The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport combined is an accurate figure, but I have allocated production to each model by calculated estimate based on sales. Figures are rounded for clarity to the nearest hundred. 15 Toyota Avensis 36,700 Where to from here? 16 Honda Jazz 25,000 UK production to end? 19 Jaguar F-Type 9,500 Not a full year. 21 Land Rover Defender 8,400 Don't stop making them! Nissan is a stand out of what a well run company can do. It has used it's UK operation to spearhead an effective approach to Europe. Jaguar and Land Rover also have been well run with a 'hands off' approach by Tata. Production is commencing in China and soon in Brazil for LR, but that should have little effect on UK production. Bentley numbers are small, but they are really good. 2014 will be similar to 2013 in production volume. The SUV will take Bentley to the next level. Toyota is doing well with the Auris (Corolla really) but the Avensis segment isn't going well. Another model is needed, but it seems it will take a new direction when it arrives. Honda have models that are unique to Europe in the Civic Hatch and Tourer. It needs to get them out into the world.

All Cars Are Green Light with Motor a light cleaning will make it look even better than it does now. The heated seats are a perk you'll really appreciate as the temperature continues to dip and the leather steering wheel and shifter enhance driving pleasure. Wood tone console and accents contrast nicely with the soft interior tones, the sunroof lets you catch some rays when you want to and the control panel is positioned toward the driver for more convenient access. Good tires on alloy wheels with shiny chrome rims wrap it up.

There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry. 鈥here could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor. 鈥n the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for its location if you need help. I find it鈥檚 best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. What does that mean? Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 has detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). 1. The P0171 is one of the more common trouble codes. This code is triggered by the first downstream (front) O2 sensor. Note: The use of 鈥渙iled鈥?air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry. A lot of times, cleaning the MAF sensor and finding/fixing vacuum leaks fix the problem. If you鈥檙e on a tight budget, start there, but that may not be the fix for certain.

The last in line is not nearly the least, as evidenced by the 2014 Range Rover Sport, which is being unveiled to what we're sure will be the delight of New York audiences. In front and in back it looks like a larger Evoque, with the Range Rover's tapering blade lights and LED day-time running lights. It shall be known by its twin-bar thematic elements such as the two-bar grille, the strakes in the side vents and the two vents on the hood. It's also got a faster windscreen angle and is more aerodynamic throughout, returning a coefficient of drag of just 0.34 for a vehicle that is 2.5 inches longer than before. The wheelbase has also been stretched by a huge seven inches. Still, it's a comprehensive rework. It's new aluminum structure deletes 800 pounds of heft, and it weighs about 100 pounds less than a similarly equipped Range Rover.

The information, specification, engines and colours on this website are based on European specification and may vary from market to market and are subject to change without notice. Some vehicles are shown with optional equipment that may not be available in all markets. Please contact your local retailer for local availability and prices. The figures provided are as a result of official manufacturer's tests in accordance with EU legislation. A vehicle's actual fuel consumption may differ from that achieved in such tests and these figures are for comparative purposes only. From 30 September 2019 Spotify will no longer be supporting the InControl Apps access. As the dominant preferred access by customers it will be available to customers via Smartphone Pack where installed. WLTP is the new official EU test used to calculate standardised fuel consumption and CO2 figures for passenger cars. It measures fuel, energy consumption, range and emissions. This is designed to provide figures closer to real-world driving behaviour. It tests vehicles with optional equipment and with a more demanding test procedure and driving profile.

At quarter end, Jaguar Land Rover had cash of 拢2.85 billion and a 拢1.9 billion undrawn credit facility. Since then, the company has completed a 拢625 million five-year amortizing loan facility backed by a 拢500 million guarantee from UK Export Finance (UKEF) and signed a new 拢100 million working capital facility for fleet buybacks. Jaguar Land Rover is also continuing to execute its product strategy. In September the New Land Rover Defender was revealed, the toughest and most capable Land Rover vehicle yet. The latest addition to the company鈥檚 line-up retains the character and authenticity of the original and meets the most stringent emissions and safety standards in the world. Jaguar Land Rover鈥檚 Advanced Product Creation Centre opened at Gaydon, UK, in September. Co-locating Jaguar and Land Rover design, vehicle engineering and purchasing for the first time, the new facility increases collaboration, encourages innovation and promotes leaner processes. The centre supports the delivery of the company鈥檚 Destination Zero mission to achieve a future of zero emissions, zero accidents and zero congestion. For the financial year ending 31 March 2020, Jaguar Land Rover continues to expect year-on-year improvement and to target a 3-4% EBIT margin with cash flow increased over last year. 鈥淥ur people have responded very positively to the challenging circumstances over the past year. The improved performance this quarter reflects their ongoing passion and determination.
