One is a 168-horsepower 2.5-liter engine carried over from last year, but it's only offered on the base model. The mainstream choice is a new turbocharged 1.6-liter. It puts out 178 hp and returns an EPA-estimated 33 mpg on the highway. Drivers who want quicker acceleration can opt for the 240-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, which effectively replaces the V6 in the old Escape. A hybrid variant of the Ford Escape is no longer offered, however. The 2013 Ford Escape is better in every way relative to its precursor. Its primary competitors -- the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 -- can't match its engine choices, while the Kia Sportage and Subaru Forester can't match its interior refinement. One possible downside is price -- once you load up an Escape with all of its nifty options, it ends up being one of the most expensive models in its class. But if you're OK with that, the 2013 Ford Escape should be an excellent choice for a small crossover.

I asked for your help a few weeks ago looking for sneaker recommendations for walking in Disney World. So many people had wonderful suggestions, and a few people felt the need to call me nasty names for wanting new shoes shortly before a trip. But the real MVPs of the Buy Committee comment section were the people who suggested new socks. While I went into the Buy Committee looking for sneakers, I had tacked on a request for sock suggestions. After a horrible previous experience with blisters on every one of my toes, I needed help. You guys really came in strong with the suggestions. Once I read your recommendations, and a few Amazon reviews, I bought WrightSocks. Double layer socks saved my feet from a million blisters while running. I buy Wrightsocks off Amazon. I second Wrightsocks Coolmesh II socks. I used to get blisters on day one of vacations, but I鈥檝e been pretty much blister-free so using Wrightsocks. Buy Committee: What Shoes Will Help Me Survive Disney World?

You could save hundreds. The table below shows Land Rover car insurance cost for a sample driver. Please note that car insurance prices depend on many factors including your age, location, driving history and more. So, to get a customized quote, enter your postal code above. Land Rover鈥檚 lineup of SUVs and crossovers belong to a vehicle class that鈥檚 traditionally insurance friendly. Given that families find these models practical alternatives to the more typically suburban minivan, it鈥檚 natural that higher income earners within the family demographic look to the premium Land Rover brand. 110,000. These are luxury SUVs and crossovers, to be sure. It鈥檚 typical that the materials and construction techniques used in luxury car manufacture lead to substantial vehicles that protect both driver and passengers well in the case of an accident. In addition, with budget concerns taking a back seat, leading-edge safety systems frequently feature. Both these factors are true for Land Rover models. Insurance companies rely heavily on statistical data to determine risks for individual car models.

Which Cars Have The Highest Maintenance Costs?

Which Cars Have The Highest Maintenance Costs?

In this case, sticker prices don't represent maintenance costs. Knowing the relative maintenance costs of brands can be informative, but it鈥檚 also important to consider how car costs change with age. This chart looks at the median annual cost of maintenance across all brands. Maintenance costs are always increasing. 150 per year in costs exists for years 1 through 10. After that, there is a distinct jump between 11 and 12 years of age. 2,000 per year. This is likely because people disown their cars if maintenance costs are higher than their cars鈥?worth. Even within brands, not all cars are created equal. How do specific models compare directly to one another? We drilled down by splitting up all cars by model to look at 10 year maintenance costs. 11,000 to maintain over 10 years. These estimates include expensive one-off costs, like a transmission rebuild, that skew the mean higher. Now we know which cars are money pits.

The British firm was owned by BMW but the Germans departed in an acrimonious split that left new owners Ford with a magnificent vehicle with which to do battle with - you guessed it - BMW鈥檚 X5. What鈥檚 more, the Ford organisation learned lessons from the construction of the BMW designed Range Rover that would later produce another X5-basher, the Volvo XC90. Like I said, you couldn鈥檛 make it up. Despite its troubled existence, there鈥檚 not a great deal wrong with the third generation Range Rover. The previous model鈥檚 Metrocab styling and low rent interior was resolutely fixed and the BMW-sourced engines were superb units. Reliability has proved good and the addition of a Td6 diesel version has opened Range Rover ownership up to those who baulked at the V8 model鈥檚 thirst. A V8 Autobiography special edition was launched in late 2003 but other than that, buyers chose between either the Td6 diesel or the 4.4 V8 in SE, HSE or Vogue trims. The original Range Rover was billed as the first luxury 4x4, but the term is relative.

Owing to the slightly domed shape of the roof and the positioning of the spoiler, the roof makes the Cooper Coupe appear to be wearing a backwards baseball cap; marking it as the 鈥渂ad boy鈥?in the MINI lineup. So pronounced is MINI鈥檚 design language, even with these radical departures from tradition, the Cooper Coupe is still readily identifiable as a MINI product. The tautly drawn parallel lines, athletic stance, and harmonious curvatures defining the body of the car all say MINI loudly and quite clearly. Up front, the bulldog facial expression is maintained with the slightly oversized headlamp clusters juxtaposed against the r hexagonally contoured grille and the rounded front end. Viewed in profile, the shoulder line rises as it progresses toward the rear of the car, lending it a slight wedge shape. This gives the side view of the Cooper Coupe a more dynamic appearance, owing to the inherent forward thrust of such an arrangement. The length, width, and wheelbase of the Coupe are almost identical to the Hardtop; the only real difference being the overall height is a full inch less. And yet, it looks smaller than the Cooper Hardtop.

They appear to be Hollanders. While the buffaloes are congregating I notice a fellow moving off into the bush wielding an axe. It isn鈥檛 long before his efforts start echoing around us, and the buffaloes aren鈥檛 the only one鈥檚 getting irritated by this. Finally I get up and approach the guy, and point out that his chopping is chasing away the wildlife. We offer him some of our wood which he accepts gracefully. When I return I find Hennie is setting camera traps for the night. After a braai under the moonlight and some discussion over gin and tonic and the odd whiskey, we sit with our backs to the Land Rover and the fire, listening to the haunting calls of hyenas. People often sit around a fire with their backs exposed. Fire is no protection from hyenas, worth noting since two people have recently been grabbed from behind by hyenas in Moremi.

Maintenance Issues On The Bentley GT Series

Maintenance Issues On The Bentley GT Series

The result is a top that does not fold correctly when lowering, which ultimately bends the frames. Over the past few years I鈥檝e heard from quite a few frustrated Bentley owners about this topic. Yet tops have been a trouble spot on Bentley cars since the first introduction of high pressure hydraulics with the 1994 Corniche. Azure tops experienced failure of lines and actuators, and all those cars are facing top repairs in the same cost range as that cited for the newer GT line. Here鈥檚 what I take away from that: It鈥檚 hard to engineer a fully automatic convertible top. In the convertible world, the Bentley tops are among the biggest, so they put the most stress on hydraulic lines and actuators. Top reliability is complicated by the fact that weaknesses tend to show up years later - after the car is out of warranty - and the permanent 鈥渇ix鈥?- re-engineering for longer life - is seldom undertaken. The next problem we are seeing is with engine externals.

Tires are low and should be replaced within the year as well. So this Mazda is not perfect, but these are very minor blemishes as you can see in the pics so for No Reserve you cannot beat the price no matter what! No Reserve Means NO RESERVE! 500 and if you are the high bidder it's yours. And Remember All Cars are Green Light! All Cars Are Green Light with Motor & Transmission in Good Working Order. NO RESERVE MEANS this awesome Audi will sell to the highest bidder regardless of the price! This automatic Audi runs great, with an ice cold AC and good tires on alloy wheels. It sounds like alot more than it looks! The black leather interior is soft, luxurious and heated for ultimate comfort when it's cold. It still packs luxury and you'll only score it here at a crazy low NO RESERVE price!

Like the F-Pace, the Velar gets brake-based torque-vectoring, and this can be felt working with the SV in its Dynamic setting, giving a rear-biased feel to the power delivery in order to combat understeer. The brakes also are worthy of praise, with the big 15.6-inch rotors and four-piston calipers proving tireless even when tasked with the thermal loads of long descents and multiple hairpin turns. High-speed refinement also is excellent, and the suspension seems happiest when ensuring stability on the Spanish autopistaat speeds more normally seen on the German autobahn. Travel in the Velar SVAutobiography can be both rapid and relaxed at the same time. SVO is in need of a hit. In recent months it canceled plans to build a two-door version of the Range Rover after finding insufficient interest from potential buyers. It also quietly nixed what was meant to be a V-8-powered SVX version of the Discovery. With JLR's balance sheets running blood red at present, the performance division will have to deliver success if it is to enjoy a future that extends beyond the short term. Regardless of that, if the Velar SVAutobiography is JLR's last V-8 model, it seems like a fine place to end the long association with what remains our favorite of its engines.

How I dream of owning a Tesla. Safest vehicles on the road which are all electric with ZERO EMMISIONS. They also have solar roof/panel solutions that can be partnered with a Tesla battery pack to store your daytime energy from your solar panels for use when the sun goes down. That is my plan before getting into a Tesla vehicle. The models they currently offer are the Model S which is a luxury sedan that can best most muscle cars and super cars out there in a race while being the safest car on the road. 100k depending on options. They also offer the Model X which is the SUV/crossover that is more expensive and is only all-wheel-drive. This one has the rear doors commonly called the falcon wing doors. 35k. There is a wait list for this car currently. I went to this dealership, if that is what you call it, to take a Model S out for a test drive.

Land Rover is showcasing a catalogue of innovative technologies - collectively known as the e-Terrain System - that reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while also improving the outstanding breadth of capability of Land Rover鈥檚 4x4 vehicles. Land Rover's e-Terrain Technology Concept. Together, they contribute to a potential 30 per cent improvement in fuel economy over a current vehicle of similar size and performance. And most of the technologies will be available on Land Rover production models starting in the next few years. Land Rover - in the most innovative and effective way possible. Matthew Taylor, managing director of Land Rover. Over the past nine years, Land Rover鈥檚 cross-range emissions output has fallen by 13 per cent, compared with the motor industry鈥檚 overall average improvement of 9.7 per cent. Indeed, the Freelander Td4 diesel鈥檚 CO2 emissions compare with many hot hatches, and the seven-seater Discovery 3 TDV6 has CO2 emissions to match many saloons.

Engine Coolant Leak at Coolant Pump

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

The fluid level in the engine coolant system expansion tank may fall below the minimum level over a period of time or a Low coolant level message

is displayed in the message center. Upon inspection, a leak may be found to be from the front of the engine-driven coolant pump together with

excessive wear of the coolant pump bearing.

NOTE:

The coolant pump can display some dry coolant residue on the pump body and surrounding area during normal operation. A small amount of

coolant may temporarily weep through the pump seals or from the evaporation chamber. This does not affect the operation of the pump or the

cooling system and does not damage the coolant pump. A small amount of dry coolant residue on the pump body, pulleys, belts, or around the

front of the engine is not alone sufficient justification for changing a coolant pump.

Cause:

This may be caused by coolant ingress into the coolant pump bearing housing, leading to corrosion of the bearing and incorrect support for the

impeller shaft, leading to accelerated wear of the mechanical flat-face

of the seal and a coolant loss sufficient to display the warning message.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

PARTS:

No parts necessary

TOOLS:

Refer to Workshop Manual for any required special tools

1. NOTE: Acceptable Coolant Pump Witness Marks

Check the coolant pump for witness marks before continuing.

^ Note the severity of any witness marks on the repair order.

2. Check the expansion tank level and message center for a low coolant warning; record on the repair order.

^ If there is low coolant in the expansion tank and or a low coolant message from the message center, continue to next step.

^ If a leak is located this must be claimed as a separate claim.

3. Top up the coolant to the correct level.

4. NOTE: A 1.0-1.5 PSI pressure drop is normal, and does not indicate a system leak. An air leak may also be present in the pressure test

equipment.

Carry out a cooling system pressure test to 1 bar (15PSI) pressure test the system for 5 minutes.

^ Record the pressure drop (if any) on the repair order.

^ If there is a cooling system pressure drop of more than 1.5 PSI, then investigate the system for fresh wet leaks and record on a repair order. A

UV light may be helpful as there is a UV dye in the coolant.

^ If there is fresh wet coolant dripping from the pump - this indicates a leak. Coolant residue is normal and does not indicate a leak.

5. If no leak is found starting the engine from cold, listen for unusual noise (moaning, groaning, rumbling, grinding); record results on the repair

order.

6. Stop the engine; slacken the FEAD belt tensioner and slip the FEAD belt to one side.

7. Hold the coolant pump pulley firmly and rock it up and down by hand.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

TEST SUNROOF DRAINS

1. Perform the following test to determine if the sunroof drain tubes are functioning normally or are potentially the water ingress source.

NOTE:

The restricted access caused by the roof opening panel glass may require the vehicle to be inclined rearward slightly to pass water down

the rear drain holes.

To prevent mis-diagnosis, the rear drain tubes require a greater volume of water poured into the water trap than when testing the front

drains due to the rear drains venting into the rear bumper area.

^ Place the vehicle on dry level ground.

^ Fully open the sunroof panel to gain access to the water trap.

2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport (LS) V8-5.0L Page 178

^ Carefully pour water into the water traps, one corner at a time so that the water drains into the drain hole and drain hose. (Figures 1 and 2)

^ Confirm that water has pooled on the ground at all four drain points under the A-pillar and D-pillar on both sides of the vehicle. (Figures 1

and 2)

RIGHT FRONT DRAIN CORRECTION PROCEDURE

NOTE:

This procedure should be followed if there is no water found pooling on the ground below the right hand side A-pillar during testing.

CAUTION:

Care should be taken when removing the fender air intake grill to prevent damage to retaining clips.

2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport (LS) V8-5.0L Page 179

^ Verify the valve of the roof opening panel drain tube can be fully opened. (Figure 6)

^ If the valve can not be opened, cut as required to permit full opening. (Figure 6)

^ Install cowl side trim panel

NOTE:

If both the routing of the roof opening panel drain tube is correct and the valve of the roof opening panel drain tube cannot be faulted, the

foam insulation pad may be the cause.

The foam sound-deadening pad may have been installed in such a way as to block the roof opening panel drain tube end.

6. Remove and then install the foam sound-deadening pad, taking care to ensure that the roof opening panel drain tube valve locates in the indent

in the foam insulation pad to avoid crimping the tube.

7. Confirm free4low of water by repeating "Test Sunroof Drains" procedure for the right front drain.

8. If satisfactory test is completed install the duct and fender air intake grill.

9. If satisfactory test is NOT completed, blow out the drain tube with compressed air and test again.

10. If satisfactory test is still NOT completed refer to GTR Workshop Manual Interior Trim and Ornamentation Section 76.64.15 and remove the

headliner to gain access to the drain tube. (Figure 7)

11. Inspect for misrouting or kin king of the roof opening panel drain tube paying particular attention to:

^ Collapsed elbow joints

^ Pinched tube

^ Inclined routing

12. Repair drain tube routing as necessary and confirm free-flow of water by repeating "Test Sunroof Drains" procedure.

13. If satisfactory test is completed, install the headliner.
