My Ford Dreams Classic

My Ford Dreams Classic

Ford has shown some interesting concepts over the years, many of which never get built. But some do, and go on to be either flops of fads. Every once in a while like the Mustang and Taurus they become cars that define their segment, and the competition chase them. Ford Motor Company made the Automobile accesable for the common man almost 100 years ago with the introduction of the Model T (1908) and sells various models all over the globe. Few companies have the brand recognition that Ford Motor Company has. It's trucks have been among the largests selling vehicles in the world, the F series for 29 years, the Ranger for 16 years. The Transit commercial vans are known the world wide. Ford may not have created some segments of the market, but hey have refined and dominated some. The Pony car segment is named after the Mustang, even though it wasn't the first of it's kind to market.

The 2015 Audi Q7 receives three new options packages (Offroad Style Plus, Sport Style Plus, Luxury) and a few minor trim changes, including the deletion of the optional rear seat entertainment system. Another year has come and gone, yet the aging 2015 Audi Q7 continues to stay the course. To be fair, there are still some things to like about the 2015 Audi Q7. The interior really is quite nice, with high-quality surfaces and excellent build quality. A big part of what earned the Audi Q7 an Edmunds "B" rating involves its comfortable and quiet interior. As far as engines go, the optional TDI diesel-powered V6 delivers an impressive 28 mpg on the highway, along with a healthy wallop of torque for passing or hill climbing. The Q7 is also surprisingly nimble for such a large vehicle, inspiring confidence where some other three-row luxury SUVs would feel bulky and out of sorts. But if you desire a vehicle that prioritizes interior space and versatility, Audi's big crossover comes up short. Ample exterior dimensions notwithstanding, the Q7 has a rather cramped third-row seat, and there's not nearly as much cargo space as you'd expect.

Human cousin number one goes to the University there and number two maybe hopes to. The city boasts fine architecture, old and new, and has a reputation as for great night life and a local accent almost as incomprehensible as Aberdeen's Doric. As my friends over the Pond would say, what's not to like? Edinburgh, where I get a chance to stretch my legs in Princes Gardens and Calton Hill and sometimes meet up with my wiry pal Horatio. It would be perfectly possible to stop and change trains at Newcastle instead. Wouldn't that be fun? I don't care that there are no green spaces conveniently near the railway station. I want to explore the fine Victorian city streets then cross the famous tilting bridge and visit the spectacular Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. Well on Wednesday, as the train was halted in Newcastle station and lots of passengers were disembarking, it just so happened that my collar and lead sort of 'fell off'. Yes really, a gentle backward motion on my part, and suddenly, freedom!

Jaguar didn鈥檛 have any new metal on the floor, but it did use the Frankfurt Motor Show to tease the next-generation XJ. Briefly shown during the Land Rover Defender presentation, the teaser image shows the flagship sedan will have a bold rear end with slender taillights that span the entire width of the vehicle. The model also has prominent Jaguar badging and what appears to be a trunk with an integrated spoiler. The overall design appears to be an evolution of the styling language used on the facelifted XE. This will likely appease fans as the rear end of the current XJ - which went out of production earlier this year - was highly controversial as critics complained about the odd taillights and blacked out rear pillars. While Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth talked about the car for a little bit, his words were drowned out by the host of the Defender presentation. More importantly, the company has confirmed plans for an electric variant which will be based on the Modular Longitudinal Architecture. A previous presentation showed electric vehicles based on that platform will have a 90.2 kWh battery pack which will give them a range of up to 470 km. The presentation also suggested upcoming electric vehicles will have a motor at each axle and this will give them all-wheel drive.

Thank you so much, John Harper, for sharing my article on your Facebook page. I am humbly honored that you did so, my friend. Payroll taxes of FICA WILL NO LONGER BE applied individually and recorded and accumulated for the individual. Great article James, reposted it to my FB pages. I have yet to have an explanation how Payroll taxes, AKA FICA can be embedded in the fair tax. Payroll taxes of FICA as opposed to withholding are applied individually and recorded and accumulated for the individual. The purpose is to determine what benefits will inured to the individual. How is this going to be accomplished with FAIR TAX? Don't get me wrong, I like anything that gets rid of the 16th amendment. Yes, it also eliminates the great fraud of corporate taxation. The elimination of corporate taxes means that the price of goods and services will drop drastically because competition will force the lowering.

Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works Is A Dream Factory

Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works Is A Dream Factory

Purpose-built at the historic Browns Lane site in Coventry, Jaguar Land Rover's Classic Works is a 150,000 square-foot dream garage filled with some of Britain's greatest hits from the last eight decades. Here, anything is possible, from a nut-and-bolt restoration to restomodding, or building historic race cars from scratch. What's more, the place is open to the public. Vintage is a huge business nowadays, and JLR knows how heritage sales can help bolster its brands. Fortunately, quite a few iconic vehicles have left Jaguar's assembly lines since 1935 and Land Rover's since 1948. The British shall never run out of objects worthy of our lust for chrome, rivets and moody electronics. Sit down on the right sofa in the showroom, though, and you'll be able to peer through a tantalizingly transparent wall. Behind it, the Classic Works has 54 individual workshop bays and teardown areas, as well as the dedicated engine shop and space for over 500 vehicles. Jaguar Land Rover needs all that space to store its not-so-secret car collection, a rotating fleet that contains parts cars and heritage collection museum pieces alike.

Local Peoria Buick car dealer, Heritage Buick, says the car has been receiving a lot of deserved attention and become one of the dealerships top sellers. Another car making a splash was the newly redesigned Mazda 3, an already-popular auto that was turning heads with its new body. A top seller for several years, the Mazda 3 appeared to draw in even more car enthusiasts at the show, according to the Peoria Mazda car dealer at the event. Judging by the traffic hitting dealerships in the days after the shows end, Peoria dealerships are happy with the results. Peoria Buick car dealer Heritage Buick reported a spike in customers at its Peoria dealership during the week following the auto show partially due to the huge 2010 Buick LaCrosse debut. And they were not the only Peoria dealership to report encouraging results, as several other Peoria car dealers showed high car buyer turnout, likely resulting from the event. The auto show has always been an important boon to the local auto industry as dealers enter the spring season, their best time of year for new car sales. The shows impact this year may prove even more important than in years past, as Peoria dealerships attempt to climb out of a very deep sales hole in the early months of 2009 brought on by slow economic activity.

If you have a snorkel as i do all you need to do is remove the jack and pop it into the boot and you have a ready made compartment. 1. Just run a live from the 1st batter to the 2nd, not recommended at all, but I have seen it done. The problem with this setup is you need the same batteries and they are not isolated from each other so if one goes wrong and loses charge the other one will leaving you with no power. 2. Install a relay which switched charge to the 2nd battery when the voltage on the alternator is enough to charge both batteries, does not suffer from the issues with option 1, and does isolate the batteries. No with option 2 you need to do some wiring. I found this diagram on the net which lays out what you need to do.

After a year in which neither the North American Car of the Year or Truck of the Year award winners were actually made in North America, the 2013 award recipients have brought the top prizes back to domestic soil. Announced at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Cadillac's ATS Sedan and Dodge's Ram 1500 pickup were named the year's best. This year marks the 20th in which the award has been handed out, decided upon by a jury of 49 automotive journalists representing a variety of different publications, web sites, and radio broadcasts from the US and Canada. To be considered for the yearly honor, a vehicle must either be an entirely new model, or have gone through a significant redesign over the previous year. Each year, there are dozens of vehicles vying for the award. The selected jury rates each potential vehicle in a number of categories, including its level of innovation, comfort, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, and value for dollar. Ballots are then submitted in early December; finalists are announced shortly thereafter, and the winners are revealed at the auto show.

Appeal exterior design combined with a spacious and functional interior design is a gift from the Mazda 6 strengths. Mazda new family face is introduced by the updated model for a strong sporty appearance that has made the quality of sound construction. Inside, some changes inside the cabin even more constrained. There are new decorative surfaces, new materials for aircraft wheel and steering, new upholstery and color combinations. These frames lunettes "inner eye" consists of round fog lights inside the lower eyelid ING strong sophistication. In addition, newly designed headlights, new grille and winged logo at the top is black Mazda in all grades and sports in body color grade. Deeply etched character lines running from the grate between the fenders and hood complete the sporty Mazda 6 forward ever. The patterns are repeated in the front wing of the rear combination lamps with chrome trim new wings that make the lights appear larger and seem even smaller in the side panels. The lamps themselves are a combination of clear lenses and lights.

Range Rover Classic Two-Door

Range Rover Classic Two-Door

Although the car may look good on the outside and may even look good on the inside also it is important to lift up carpets and check underneath for signs of rust. Use a torch/flashlight and pay special attention to the front bulkhead, inner wheel arches and rear floor. Check the top and bottom edges of the rear split tailgate for rust. Also check A and B posts. Remember that corrosion often starts from inside and works its way out so look for any tell tale bubbling of paint. Check the interior trim including the headlining which can have a tendency to sag. Check radiator coolant especially looking for milky deposits that indicate oil leaking into the coolant. Signs of coolant leakage. Engine running smoothly, listen for noise from the top of the engine after starting. The engine鈥檚 top end should quieten down soon after starting and stay quiet. If the car has had an LPG conversion check it has been certified and assess the quality of the work.

Reviewing another author's work is fun. With so many items posted on the Internet, looking for feedback, there is plenty of opportunity to share your thoughts and offer helpful advice. To the beginning reviewer, this can be daunting. There are many aspects to giving helpful reviews that can be explored. In this article we will analyse giving feedback on plot, character development and good endings. These are just some basics, but they make a good example to gain some insight into what to do when there are serious issues with a piece. A good plot helps to shape a good story. A weak and/or inconsistent plot can soon chase away a reader. Of course, it is not always as simple as that. You might come across a story with an excellent plot but something seems to be missing, or at the last moment the story gets too predictable. Perhaps there could have been more twists and turns, or perhaps there are too many of these. As a reviewer, you should not be afraid to speak out about this. If something doesn't add up for you, point this out.

鈥楬ideous鈥?some of you might say; 鈥樷€檞hat a sight鈥欌€?others might comment. Wild dogs were Kaynas鈥?job on a ranch nearby for over three years. She came from Cornwall (strange how so many people from one of the nicest counties in the Uk could end up here in Kenya!)to taste Africa and ended up on the wild dogs research project. Some of them obviously liked her and followed her to her new home! On a ranch nearby to where her work was based. I have two points to my story above. 1/Kayna said they had a mate of Paul鈥檚 making his first visit to them from UK. She felt she must prepare a safari to various places including game parks to accommodate him. Kayna was already used to what was splashing about yards from her feet. Unknowingly she almost took for granted the big game surrounding her lovely home. She was instead thinking she would have to take this friend to national parks!

Thrust is reasonably good, if not exactly eye opening, but the beauty of the Focus is you don鈥檛 really need to be going superfast in it to feel engaged. Like so many well-sorted small cars, the Focus is great fun to drive fast鈥攕lowly. In other words, you can tear into corners, relying upon the tenacity of the little car鈥檚 roadholding to deliver an abundance of visceral entertainment. With the 1.0-liter turbo, you鈥檒l be fascinated an engine so small can provide so much amusement, while simultaneously returning outstanding fuel economy. If you doubt the ability of a three-cylinder turbocharged engine to deliver, might we remind you this is precisely the same configuration found in the awe-inspiring BMW i8 (albeit supplemented by an electric motor). Further, Mini鈥檚 Cooper also runs a small-displacement turbocharged three cylinder. The automated manual transmission equipped Titanium models shift smoothly, and their programming seemingly always finds them in the right gear for the task at hand. All in all, Ford鈥檚 Focus remains one of the most engaging models in its competitive set. When you consider this includes such standouts as the Volkswagen鈥檚 Golf and the Mazda3, you鈥檙e looking at a rather significant statement. While we have a great deal of praise for Ford鈥檚 economical compact, we have taken note of a recurring issue popping up quite frequently in the Ford Focus owner鈥檚 forums on the 鈥楴et. There seems to be quite a bit of mention of transmission problems with the six-speed automated manual in the 2014 model. The issue seems to be centered around leaking clutch input seals. While we saw no hint of anything untoward in our testing of the 2015 Focus, it does show up in enough different forums to where we鈥檇 feel remiss if we didn鈥檛 mention it. Pros: Delightful handling, outstanding high tech features, smooth ride, and quiet operation. Well-crafted interior with a quality look and feel, outstanding value for the price.

Off-Road In A Range Rover Classic

Off-Road In A Range Rover Classic

But for one glorious afternoon, I was able to enjoy it precisely where it was born to drive. No, I鈥檓 not talking about the Hamptons. I mean a series of challenging off-road trails located very close to a skilled mechanic. It was a Saturday morning when I took the Range Rover off-roading with my friends Andrew and Sam. Our preferred trails are found in a rather dangerous, gritty neighborhood near Atlanta, the exact location of which I will keep secret for fear of discovery by the police, or worse: hipsters. Our journey began with a steep drop into a valley comprised of 20 percent trees, 20 percent dirt, and 60 percent discarded trash. The terrain would be no problem in a modern Range Rover equipped with a fancy console-mounted switch for hill descent control, which functions primarily to absorb Starbucks spills from suburban housewives. But old ones don鈥檛 have that fancy crap: they have brakes. And not very good ones. As a result, a firm push on the brakes meant the Rover descended the hill at approximately the speed you might go on a rural interstate in the middle of the night.

It's just that anything that needs to be fixed will be sent back. And generally it takes a while for a vehicle to age into seeing what reliability issues are. Three to five years I think, and then after that, other issues tend to crop up. And we're going to be talking, as I said, the line of Land Rover and Range Rover is large. With the Range Rover, we're going to stick with the full size and the sport. And with the Land Rover, it's LR3 and LR4 models. The LR2s and Range Rover Evoques, we'll discuss those another time. Mark: All right, so we've narrowed it down. Let's start with the engine. What kind of issues do you see with Land Rover, Range Rover engines? Bernie: Yeah, so as far as engines, first of all, you'll find either a V6 or a V8, mostly V8. So V6's are not super common but they are available. And as some of the newer Range Rovers also have a supercharge V6, as well, which is a nice option because they do tend to be a real fuel consuming vehicle.

You can still quite easily knock down even the latest Defender with a 19mm, 17mm and 13mm spanner. The high ground clearance means a lot of jobs don't even require the car to be jacked up. There's no plastic trim hiding the nuts and bolts and the internet is chock full of information on how to strip down, repair and replace just about any component. It's the perfect vehicle to learn about the mechanisms of a car and to be able to have a bash at fixing it yourself. The Defender body and chassis are extremely modular as we've already discussed. Interior load space is cavernous. The flat outer panels mean you can mount just about anything anywhere. A full length roof rack gives you plenty of room for fuel, spares and equipment. Couple this with the wide availability of Land Rover parts & the ability to run on low quality fuels and you have the best adventure vehicle by far.

My Ford Dreams Classic

My Ford Dreams Classic

SUVs were available before the Explorer, but none sold in the numbers Explorer did. Ford has the ability to pull it together and regain market share and profitability. So here's a question I don't think I've asked before, What do you want from Ford? What kind of new models or features would bring you into a Ford dealer? Do you want more performance? Do you want better efficiency? Do you want bigger or smaller? Make a wish list of what you want and post it to comments. This is especially for those readers that don't drive a Ford now, but also for devoted Blue Oval Fans. Pretend that Ford is listening, let me know what you would like to see in a future Ford line up. Not limited to just Ford, but Mercury, Lincoln, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and Astin Martin also. Primarilly for the US market, but even if you'r not from the US, what would you want for your home market? I've spent the last 10 months telling anyone who will listen what I want from FoMoCo, now it's your turn. Commentors should remember to ID themselves with at least initials, as Anonymous posts will not be published. I've read and discussed here, that Ford and other manufacturers hire consultants to scan web pages, including blogs to see what consumer trends may be. Now it's your turn to sound off. If you want to see Diesels in passenger vehicles or Hybrid trucks, now is the time to comment. And in the least you will have vented some of that frustration.

There are no fuel efficiency numbers for the diesel, but it's probably better than either of the gasoline engines. For either of the gasoline engines, fuel economy is not horrible, but it is slightly below class average. Maximum towing for either of the gasoline engines is 6000 pounds, just under the class average. Towing numbers for the diesel are not available, but are undoubtedly better, as the diesel engine gets 425 pound feet of torque, well above even the V8. Maximum payload is 1345 pounds and cargo volume is 21.9 cubic feet. The V6 gasoline and diesel engines are a little light on horsepower for their class, but the V8 engine cures that admirably. The X5 is shy on front head and legroom, though. As you would expect from the German engineered BMW, the X5 is a very safe vehicle. NHTSA crash tests give it four stars for rollover, which is about as good as it gets for an SUV, and for passenger front crash. Everywhere else it gets five stars. There are a lot of excellent safety features, among them an anti-theft system, BMW's xDrive four-wheel drive system, airbags everywhere, automatic load leveling, antilock brakes with electronic assistance, traction control and a vehicle stability system. Surprisingly, there is no locking or limited slip differential and child safety locks are not available. 8,500 cheaper than the class average for luxury SUVs. Considering what you get, that could make it worth checking out if you're in the market.

I replaced that radiator with a custom horizontal flow aluminium radiator the second time my vertical core radiator needed to be recored. A horizontal core radiator can be mounted on top of the front cross member providing more space for the engine length AND allowing space for a thicker core. The height can be what fits between the cross member and the underside of the bonnet. The width is what fits. Some folks take a wide off the shelf radiator and cut a hole in an inner wing so a tank can fit through. The left side of my radiator rests against the power steering box (with rubber pad between) and I have just enough space on the right side for the bonnet prop rod assembly and for the passage of the headlamp wiring. This radiator sits inside a rubber padded U channel bolted to the top of the front cross member.

2.5 billion to buy Jaguar Cars. March 15, 1990: Ford introduces the Explorer sport utility vehicle. July 1, 1992: Ford buys 50 percent of Mazda Motor Manufacturing and changes that company's name to AutoAlliance International. June 20, 1993: Ford opens its first dealerships in China. Its brand sales in China increased 46 percent in 2005, though it still lags behind General Motors Corp. Germany's Volkwagen AG in China. April 18, 1993: Ford begins production of the Flexible-Fuel Vehicle (FFV) Taurus. FFVs can burn gasoline, ethanol or mixtures of the two. Despite the fact that there are an estimated 5 million FFVs, there are only about 500 ethanol fuel stations in the country. According to the law, if automakers produce FFVs, they can also produce more of other cars that consume more gas. Aug. 21, 1997: Ford sells the first taxicabs run on natural gas to New York City. August 2000: Bridgestone/Firestone recalls 6.5 million tires after 271 rollover deaths in Ford Explorers. May 2001: Ford Motor unilaterally recalls 13 million more tires and Bridgestone/Firestone dumps Ford as a customer, saying Ford was using the tire maker as a scapegoat to deflect attention from problems with the Ford Explorer. Federal investigators ultimately concluded that tire defects were the main cause of the rollovers. July 11, 2005: Ford's new gas-electric hybrid SUV, the Mercury Mariner, goes on sale. 4,000 more than the gas-only version and has the endorsement of the Sierra Club. Dec. 22, 2005: The United Auto Workers agrees to a deal with Ford in which 99 cents an hour of any future wage increases will go towards a health-care fund. Insurance deductibles will rise by as much as 33 percent, and the costs for current retirees will also go up. 650 million a year. 3 billion in today's prices. 2005: Ford loses market share for the 10th year in a row, and also loses its place as America's best-selling brand to GM's Chevrolet.

Off-Road In A Range Rover Classic

Off-Road In A Range Rover Classic

Andrew and Sam were terrified by this and got out the moment we reached the bottom, continuing a tried-and-true off-roader tradition: first drive over something, then look at it. We inspected the land, which primarily involved looking into the distance and trying to avoid stepping on empty beer bottles. Fortunately, we could tell the hipsters still hadn鈥檛 discovered the area, since it wasn鈥檛 craft beer. We got back in the Range Rover and drove towards a section full of dirt ruts that were several feet high. Since my Rover had been converted from its factory air suspension to more reliable springs, we couldn鈥檛 raise its ground clearance to go over them. Instead, we just crossed our fingers and slowly took on rut after rut. Although no words were exchanged, we were all silently praying that nothing scraped the underbody, which - in the infinite wisdom of the 1970s Brits - probably contained most of the Rover鈥檚 essential components. But we cleared the ruts unscathed, arriving next at another steep hill. This time, the hill鈥檚 angle looked too severe to attempt directly. Instead, we decided to take an alternate route which involved driving over a medium-sized tree.

If the answer is affirmative - then I would say - you would be lucky to see 200 K max ouit of it (and probably not even that) - sleeved aluminum blocks do not appreciate being boiled! So you must bear this is mind. But if you get one from the original owner who, following the British traditions of 'motoring' - babied it - Joey's guesstimate is not outrageous at all. In order to save yourself a lot of frustration you must keep in mind that there are profound differences between North American engineering perspectives/expectations and British ones. I will give you one of the best examples I know of personally: i.e., when the IDF/ZAHAL was starting up its fledgling armor corps to hold off the Gypos with their T-34s/Stalins/etc. If you tune into the British websites on these rovers and their engines - you will see what i am gettng at here. Moreover, there is no point in babying some poor old tired-out 4.00 liter that the original leasee decided to drag race everywhere with in the last few months of his lease (I am speaking from personal experience here).

80,000sport-utility vehicle that gets 14 miles per gallon and requirespremium gasoline, which is why Tata has gone out of its way to makeprospective buyers want it. What we're discussing here is an object of pure lust, the 2010edition of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged withoptions, possibly the most luxurious of full-size SUVs. Tata Motors, part of a Mumbai-based multinational conglomeratethat acquired Land Rover from Ford Motor in 2008, makes no pretensethat the vehicle is meant for anything other than enjoyment andprestige. This is the SUV as ceremonial elephant. Step in. The Range Rover Sport Supercharged smells rich. Under its tutelage, Ford emphasized the technical prowess of theRange Rover line. Buttons and dials were all over the instrumentpanel and center console. The feeling was more aircraft flight deckthan luxury coach. Tata has changed that, giving the SportSupercharged fewer buttons with greater ease of use. It matters not that underneath its considerable finery, the SportSupercharged remains a truck with a hydro-formed, box-steel ladder-frame. So, yes, the new Range Rover Sport Supercharged remains tough.

Among the coolest features of this model are as follows: Intelligent Seat Fold, Meridian audio systems, InControl Touch Pro, Terrain response 2 and more. Discovery Sport - Looking forward to new adventures on the road? This compact SUV was born to provide you with the highest level of satisfaction. Boasting a compelling exterior and interior design, it steals the attention of every one on the road. When it comes to power and performance, it also stands out with a new 4-cylinder 2.0L Si4 petrol variant available in 240PS with 9-speed Automatic Transmission. Land Rover Defender - An icon of power for more than 68 years, this has become one of the most distinguishable four-wheel drive vehicles in the world. If you are the type of driver who has an extreme spirit, this is the perfect car for you as it is built tough. It comes in three body types such as pick up, hard top and soft top.

Off-Road In A Range Rover Classic

Off-Road In A Range Rover Classic

For a true car enthusiast, few things can top the allure of an old British car. The style. The uniqueness. The allure of wind-in-your-hair motoring, even if you don鈥檛 have a convertible. Of course, most car enthusiasts stay far away from British cars, unless 鈥渃ar enthusiast鈥?is the weekend hobby and 鈥渇irefighter鈥?is the day job. That鈥檚 because old British cars tend to catch on fire, assuming you can get them started in the first place. Or, at least, that鈥檚 their reputation. I didn鈥檛 really buy it, which led me to purchase possibly the ultimate old British car: a 1995 Range Rover Classic. Now, 1995 may sound new compared to, say, a 鈥?6 MGB, which allows the same amount of rainwater to reach the cabin whether the top is up or down. But it鈥檚 important to remember that the Range Rover Classic was developed in the 1970s, when most problems at Solihull were addressed with: 鈥淟et鈥檚 sort it out at the pub! 鈥?This is far different from today, when it鈥檚 more like: 鈥淟et鈥檚 sort it out over a beer from the vending machine! Unfortunately, my Range Rover Classic held true to its reputation, as I鈥檝e documented elsewhere.

Tourists be damned, The tourists come anyway. They must like sitting in two-mile long lines of traffic on Highway One. I suppose it's a much more scenic traffic jam than they can find in Jersey or inside Boston's I-495 or, increasing, from within the M-25 London beltway. What was it Bette Midler said in "Big Business"? Two sets of bridge works on Route 7 ate up my last ten minutes. It was just 10 am when I pulled into Belfast, and I still didn't know where to go! The official ladies behind the desk in the church's community room were polite but firm. I was late. I'd better go get my sticker and registration pronto or my test would be cancelled. I tried to explain that I needed a moment to clam down, but they didn't seem to get that at all. Back out on the bed of the truck, straps all askew, I tried my hardest to get the durn luggage compartment open, hands shaking, mind a blur.

A poorly packaged, bloated SUV of excess if ever I saw one. LR designs are on the money but the next models will be lighter for sure. LR has to be careful with technology, as many already steer clear of the brand due to past reliability issues. Make sure all models are top notch. A new Defender is overdue, and that is coming. The Freelander (LR2) is beautifully proportioned but understated. The rest are awesome in this area. Overall, the best range of SUVs by far. The JLR summary: The brand now has a hands-off owner, letting the brands flourish. They have excellent people in charge leading them forward. Some experts see no future in JLR, but then some experts said the Range Rover would fail when it arrived. If you are in the market for vehicles in the segment that Jaguar or Land Rover compete in, think beyond the boring Germanic offerings and get some style into your life. JLR is going places.

We stop about 20 metres from as not hassle them. The cubs come sauntering up to the vehicle and gaze in awe (of the Landy perhaps). It is here that we reflect on the injured lion we saw in Moremi. We hear the lions roaring most of the night. Fear to some, music in the night to others. 鈥淲ild animals seem to heal very quickly,鈥?Hennie observes. We recall a zebra I photographed on a previous outing that had mismatched stripes, the sign of a scar possibly inflicted by lion鈥檚 claws. 鈥淚t must be a survival mechanism. Our two days in Central are quiet and peaceful, a soothing end to a busy trip. The finale is intended to be even quieter, as we make for the moony wasteland that is the massive Makgadikgadi Salt Pan. At Letlhakane we make for the mystical island of Kubu. We arrive late in the day and while setting up camp a guy from the local village arrives with his bicycle, asking for camp fees. He tells us it鈥檚 not safe to drive on the pan.

2. Use. Where are you going to drive with your 4脳4 jeep, what roads are you going to take and how often? Whether those are going to be activities connected with your work or you are going to participate in off road adventures and expeditions? How much space do you need in your 4脳4 off road jeep? Is it going to be the only vehicle or the second or third in your car park? The right choice will help you to achieve your goals faster and easier. 3. Reliability. It is very important to accomplish everything you have planned in time and reach the target. And the reliability is even more important, if you need to cover bigger distances or go on off road adventures. 4. Fuel consumption. Important as always - off road adventures are not exception! 5. Engine power and type of gear box. Of course people can get used to anything, but the pleasure is bigger if you drive a 4脳4 off road jeep you like!

Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works Is A Dream Factory

Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works Is A Dream Factory

And yes, seeing these cars back at Jag can raise eyebrows, given how the brand sold off all its XJ220-related assets more than a decade ago. Of course back then, dealing with up to 275 individual XJ220 owners was seen as just another expense bringing no benefit to the table, at a time when Ford couldn't get rid of its European premium brands fast enough. Jaguar certainly did not want to talk about the commercial failure that was the XJ220. These 217.1mph (Nardo, Martin Brundle) supercars were designed and built by Jaguar Sport anyway, a joint-venture with Tom Walkinshaw Racing helmed by some of the best motorsport experts in the business. For a while, one family ended up caring for these cast-off beasts. Don Law started racing XJ220s in 1997, developing them continuously while picking up clients passed on from Jaguar. Due to the lack of support after 1998, Don Law Racing started manufacturing its own XJ220 replacement parts. Jaguar whispered that, once its legally-binding obligation to provide service expired after 10 years, it would sell the entire XJ220 business to Law. Fast forward to 2007, and that's exactly what happened.

January 2007 saw the upgrade of the Everest alongside three Ford SUVs, while the Ranger got that under-the-knife treatment months before. This version saw additional updates in 2009 and 2013 with changes in equipment and the availability of a Limited 4x2 edition in the first minor model change. Mostly XLT models in either rear or 4x4 drivetrains are available throughout its selling life. Prior to this, a non-CRDI Everest was made available and can be seen in this review. This version can be had for as low as P500,000 (non-CRDI ones are priced less) for earlier models while last releases are priced in the million pesos range. With numerous examples in the used car market, be picky enough since going for a pricier model but in tip top shape would be a good choice than something in the opposite spectrum. Do take note under-chassis components for this version is way different than its earlier iterations, which makes the price difference for these parts a bit pricier.

The Jaguar XF has undergone a thorough revamp, four years into its life, to help it face up to intense competition from the latest BMW 5-series and Audi A6. The 2012 XF 鈥?which goes into production this July 鈥?has been given new front-end styling, tweaks to the rear, extra safety features and changes to the interior, including a new audio system. Diesel XFs also get a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. But perhaps most important for the sales success of the XF is the arrival of a new four-cylinder diesel engine, which also gets a new stop-start system. All versions of the new XF, including the XFR super-saloon, feature a new bonnet, wings, headlamps, grille and bumper, and modified rear lights. Adam Hatton, a Jaguar design manager, says the nose graphic of the XFR was intended to 鈥渢urn up the visual volume and give a purposeful road presence鈥? The most important technical aspect of the new XF is the new 2.2-litre AJ-i4D four-cylinder diesel engine, which is expected to account for around 60 per cent of future XF sales.
