The 2015 Land Rover LR4 is a midsize luxury SUV offered in three trims: base, HSE and HSE Lux. 2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE brings a range of 19-inch alloy wheels, Xenon lights, LED running lights, front parking sensors, power to pre- glasses, ignition keyless and entry, navigation system, voice controls and 7 Seat Comfort package. Climate Comfort option package, available for both base and trims HSE, collect a burning spirit, the spirit burning washer jets, heated front and second row seats and a heated steering wheel. Cool and aloof, the interior of the 2015 Land Rover LR4 is almost Scandinavian in its melding of simple design and shapes and high-quality materials. This is not the inner you want if you want to wow the neighbors buttons and gadgets; all LR4鈥檚 exceptional subdued in its attempt to avoid distraction while improving performance. Not that there is little gee-whiz. I鈥檝e had numerous conversations before with both dealers and Toyota corporate, but I talked to 3 people at Toyota HQ/customer service again yesterday for 3 陆 hours. The 3rd person has now admitted the dates I鈥檝e been given before are only estimates and not actual available dates. They鈥檝e now pushed the exact match of what I鈥檇 want (a 2020 super white XLE 4 cylinder with macadamia leather with no added options) back to early December! She said those dates are subject to change every day since there are a lot of variables for delivery. By the end of those calls, I was worn out and decided I hate Toyota and don鈥檛 want to buy from them now.
All LR2s are powered by a 240-hp turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with full-time 4-wheel drive. While the suspension is tuned for comfort and to allow some off-road ability, it handles and maneuvers reasonably well in tight city spaces as well. The LR2's boxy design pays dividends inside, with enough room for five adults--though broad-shouldered occupants might be a little tight three across in back. In front, a so-called command driving position puts you high and upright, with a good view out over the hood and around the vehicle compared to most other utility vehicles. Cargo space is quite impressive, with the boxy body allowing a versatile space with the backseat folded down. The Land Rover LR2 is missing one key off-roading attribute--a low range--but its system provides good on-road traction while enabling respectable off-road ability with a host of electronic controls. Terrain Response coordinates them all, with four different modes, for normal driving; slippery conditions (like snow or gravel); mud and ruts for rugged off-road conditions; and sand--with the latter mode offering just the right amount of wheelspin.

When you talk about companies with off-road heritage, you probably think of Land Rover and Jeep. But don鈥檛 forget Toyota. The company has more than 60 years of experience with four-wheel drive, and there鈥檚 been a Land Cruiser in its range for 65 years. This year brings a host of revisions to Toyota鈥檚 biggest 4x4. They start with a new look for the exterior, but also include a revised dashboard, a more comfortable cabin and a new 鈥榳orkhorse鈥?entry-level model. However, our first experience of the new Land Cruiser comes at the opposite end of the range: the Invincible, which costs well over 拢50,000. This being a Land Cruiser, at least some of the changes are for purely practical reasons. So while the grille and headlights are new, they鈥檙e set higher to improve the car鈥檚 off-road ability, and there鈥檚 now a dip in the centre of the bonnet to give the driver better visibility.
