The new HST will be based on the Supercharged specification with the additional equipment including: electric sunroof, an electronic active locking rear differential and privacy glass. The interior is distinguished by a unique hand polished lined oak trim. The exterior design is the work of the same Land Rover team that created the original Range Stormer. It includes new flush-fitting front and rear bumpers and a new larger open-mouth grille. The front lower air intake is deeper and new front fog lamps are mounted in the spoiler. The lower doors and lower rear boot are body-coloured, making the body sides appear deeper, accentuating the vehicles road-hugging qualities. A new tail spoiler is also fitted, and the special rectangular tail-pipes are close to those used on the original Range Stormer concept vehicle. Further visual impact is provided by the 20inch 'Stormer' alloy wheels, chromed aluminium side vents and body-coloured door mirror cappings, unique to this derivative. Land Rover design director, Geoff Upex. The HST is available in five colours; Bonatti Grey, Cairns Blue, Java Black, Rimini Red and Zermatt Silver. Performance figures are the same as the standard Supercharged model. As a Land Rover, the HST will naturally still have off-road capability. The removable chin spoiler means that approach and departure angles are as good as the standard vehicle.
A wide-ranging knowledge of the vehicle was needed to be able to select the correct gear, transfer ratio, various differential systems and master various techniques required for tackling steep hills, deep water and other tough terrain. Terrain Response attempted to take away as many of the difficulties as possible. The driver selected a terrain type on a dial in the cab of the vehicle. The options are "Sand", "Grass, Gravel & Snow", "Mud & Ruts" and "Rock Crawl". The on-board computer systems then select the correct gearbox settings, adjust the suspension height, adjust the differential lock settings and even alter the throttle response of the engine suitable for the terrain. As well as new mechanical and electronic systems, the Discovery 3 introduced a new design to the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The original 1989 Discovery's looks had been determined by limited funds and the consequent use of first-generation Range Rover components. These continued to influence the Series II.
In back, the tail rises slightly at its center. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust pipes, xenon headlights and power-folding outside mirrors are standard. The rear-wheel-drive M37 offers a Sport Package, which adds 20-inch wheels, a darker grille finish, darker headlights and unique bumpers. Like before, the M's dash falls away from the driver and that results in a spacious, open cabin. A wide panel with controls for the navigation and climate systems sits closer than before, while the transmission retains its short, leather-wrapped gearshift. Upscale available materials include a suede-like headliner, faux-leather stitched dashboard panels and wood trim with interlaced silver-powdered accents. Optional semi-aniline leather has a similar feel to a leather sofa's, Infiniti says. Standard features include CD stereo with six speakers and USB/iPod compatibility, power front seats, leather upholstery, a moonroof, a backup camera and keyless access with push-button start. A Premium Package adds Infiniti's latest-generation navigation system, a 10-speaker Bose stereo, a heated steering wheel, and heated and cooled front seats; the package is standard on the M56.
I'm gonna lift my car at my friend's shop next week, so if i find something, I'll post here what I see. Thank you so much for the response. Hey there, man that's rough. I've never heard that happening to such a new vehicle. How did you notice that you were leaking oil internally by the way? Is there a lot of smoke coming out the tail pipe? Do they tell you how many valves are leaking? The reason I ask because the thing about an internal oil leak is that, if it's not that bad, then it's not that big of a deal. You'll just burn oil, which isn't especially good for the environment, but won't cause excessive amounts of problems either. I just can't believe that an 05 can be leaking that badly from the valves. If I were you, I'd definitely try the stop leak to see if it helps anything before doing anything else.
More importantly, the MLA platform has been designed to accommodate plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains. Given this, it’s not too surprising to learn the next-generation Range Rover will offer an assortment of eco-friendly powertrains. Nothing is official, but there will reportedly be a mild hybrid variant that uses a turbocharged and supercharged straight-six engine. It will reportedly offer outputs ranging from approximately 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) to 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS). The report also says there will be a plug-in hybrid variant which uses a straight-six engine and an electric motor on each axle. There’s no word on specifications, but the model could have an electric-only range of approximately 40 miles (64 km). An electric version is also rumored, but little is known about it. However, the report suggests the model will be targeted at city dwellers in Asia. There’s no word on what the new Range Rover will look like, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the model adopted an evolutionary design that takes some cues from the newer Evoque and Velar. If this is the case, we can expect sleeker styling and retractable door handles. There should also be a more luxurious interior with updated technology.
