Boxy Bollinger B1 And B2 Launched With All-electric Power

Boxy Bollinger B1 And B2 Launched With All-electric Power

The B1 comes with a two-speed high- and low-range gearbox, a near 50:50 weight distribution and approach and departure angles of 52 and 43 degrees - compared to the Defender鈥檚 respective figures of 38 and 40 degrees. However, due to its longer wheelbase, the B1鈥檚 breakover angle is marginally poorer than the Defender鈥檚 at only 30 degrees; an issue which Bollinger will eventually remedy with the introduction of a two-door, short-wheelbase version later in the car鈥檚 life-span. The B1 and B2 feature removable glass, doors, rear seats and roof panels, as well as a removable windscreen. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, bluetooth connectivity and six 110V sockets scattered throughout the cabin. Buyers will also be able to spec heated seats, glass roof panels and a winch as optional extras. Inside, there鈥檚 little else other than an analogue gauge cluster, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and seating for four. Both models also feature Bollinger鈥檚 patented 鈥減ass through鈥?panels between the rear bed, cabin and under-bonnet storage area. As such, the B1 can transport items up to five metres long, while the B2 can carry items almost six metres long. The B1 and B2 both have a payload of 5201lbs (2,360kg), a maximum towing capacity of 7,500lbs (3,400kg) and 15-inches of ground clearance. There鈥檚 around 400 litres of storage space under the bonnet of both models and Bollinger claims that the B2 can carry 72 sheets of 4 x 8陆 foot plywood with the rear seats removed. Bollinger is currently taking reservations for the B1 and B2, with the intent of starting production in mid-2020. The firm will prioritise the American market first, although Bollinger says it is planning to eventually sell both models overseas, in right-hand-drive format.

Whitley, UK, 27 March 2014 - Roger Crathorne, one of the best known and most highly respected Land Rover employees for more than five decades, is retiring from the company. From Royalty, VIP customers and senior military figures to journalists from all over the world, global explorers and countless generations of company management, Roger is known simply as 'Mr Land Rover'. As an instructor, he has passed on his vast knowledge and experience of off-road driving in the world's most inhospitable regions to thousands of people; all with passion and patience. Roger joined Land Rover in 1963 as an apprentice, but the story of his association with the company starts even earlier than that. Roger was born in 1947 in Lode Lane, Solihull at the local hospital - less than a mile from the factory where, at the exact same time, the idea for the first Land Rover was being conceived. After serving 15 years in engineering, and being closely involved in the development of the first Range Rover, Roger's reputation as an off-road expert came to the fore in 1978 when he became head of the company's vehicle demonstration team. The team went on to become Land Rover Experience which itself celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The brief was simple - to showcase the outstanding off-road capabilities of Land Rover vehicles to people of influence.

You鈥檒l be surprised. Range Rover is the brand of British multinational automotive company Jaguar Land Rover Automotive PLC that is a subsidiary of Indian automaker Tata Motors. So, formally, it is Indians who make Range Rover cars, while the main production facilities are still in the UK. Isn鈥檛 it Ford who owns Range Rover? 5.3 billion in 2000 when the latter purchased it from BMW. Range Rover or Land Rover? Both monikers exist and represent the same manufacturer. In fact, Land Rover is the name of the entire marque, while Range Rover is the name of one of its model lines. The Land Rover (LR model line) usually refers to rugged, off-road SUVs, while Range Rovers are more luxurious with emphasis on comfort and on-road abilities. Of course, even the cheapest Range Rover will cost you much more than an average LR SUV. Naturally, the best option, in this case, is the one that fulfills your needs for the budget you have.

You can鈥檛 always start at the top, but it鈥檚 nice to know you have a chance to get there. The Discovery Sport is Land Rover鈥檚 new entry-level model, and the first in its soon-to-grow Discovery line of street-smart crossovers. It mixes country club style with just enough off-road cred to earn the Land Rover logo. 2. The cargo bay they fill may be better left empty, and provides a nice big space when it is. Packing for a week-long trip for a family of four or five should be no problem. Don鈥檛 let the name fool you. 鈥淪port鈥?in this case really means 鈥渇un size,鈥?and there will be a larger Discovery model arriving next year. Nevertheless, its 240 hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine and nine-speed automatic transmission combo provides enough punch to keep things lively, even though it likes to hunt for fuel economy in the upper gears, where it finds 26 mpg on the highway.
