GMC MODELS REVIEW

I'm Max Grabowski. I make trucks. What could be more American than that? Fast forward one hundred and six years and I鈥檓 face-to-face to face with a GMC SUV named after a diplomat with dubious powers. Go figure. And riddle me this Batman: why in the name of modern science is this four-wheeled Neanderthal still for sale at the tail end of the double-o's? There is so much to dislike about the base Envoy that I wish to state for the record that it is by no means the worst vehicle ever sold by GM. Of course, that鈥檚 a bit like saying 鈥淪ure, Michael Vick was involved with dog fighting. OK, looks. The Envoy isn鈥檛 meant to be a pretty truck. And by God, it isn鈥檛. It's not that's it's ugly. It's just that it's dull. So dull it's almost an archetype. SUV. Big, boxy and vaguely macho. That said, the Envoy鈥檚 panel gaps my only "real" complaint; they're large enough to accommodate an illegal immigrant.

The Series ring and pinion gears are thinner and weaker than the 3.54:1 gears. GBR Utah (formally Great Basin Rovers) produces a range of ring and pinion gears that are much stronger than stock. These offerings are a good choice to go with significant power upgrades. GBR supplies 5.13, 4.75. 4.1, 4.43, 4.14, 4.11, 3.9 and 3.54 ratios for the Rover diff and 4.7, 4.11 and 3.54 Salisbury ratios. GBR is your best place to get uprated ring and pinion gears and they can supply assembled differentials ready to slip into your axle housing. ENV and Salisbury ring and pinion gears are normally strong enough to handle whatever you put in front of them. Figuring out a differential ratio: If you have an unknown differential sitting in front of you, you can calculate the ring and pinion gear ratio by counting the number of teeth on both the ring gear and the pinion gear.

These are fascinating times for the car industry and car buyers. We start with the all-new Range Rover Evoque, a car with the same street cred as its predecessor and even more off-road ability. But it鈥檚 also a car that is, in the vast majority of its line-up, electrified with mild-hybrid technology. There鈥檚 the new Mazda 3, aiming to prove that the combustion engine isn鈥檛 dead yet with a revolutionary supercharged motor that tries to mix the best bits of petrol with the character and economy of a diesel. A mix of buyer trends, legislation and pure economics has brought us to this point - and the sands are likely to shift again within the next six months. That鈥檚 the pace of progress at the moment, as battery and electric motor technologies advance and become more democratised. Undoubtedly. But we鈥檇 argue that it鈥檚 exciting and brilliant at the same time.

The Land Rover Defender SUV is back! In the United States that is. I fell in love with the Land Rover Defender the first time I rode in one. My Professional Hunter in South Africa had one and everything about the vehicle screamed 鈥渟afari.鈥?The vehicle, with its minimalist styling and workhorse bravado, was the very epitome of adventure. That beast of a vehicle drove over and through everything my PH put it through. He drove it through brush, over rocks, used it to carve a trail through tangled foliage and to haul everything from stores of food and camping equipment to dead animals weighing upwards of 2,000 pounds. The 2020 Land Rover Defender SUVs can, apparently, do all this and more. Despite being far more aerodynamic than its predecessors, the 2020 Land Rover Defender SUV still carries a box-like appearance that contains massive integrity. Its monocoque architecture delivers triple the torsional rigidity of a body-on-frame design that delivers lightweight strength and durability.

It will be available in both three- and five-door options. Spy images reveal that the upcoming rugged SUV will get a neo-retro design. It is likely to get three diesel, two petrol and one PHEV powertrain option. Will rival the likes of the Mercedes G-Class and the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon once launched. It has been a long, long wait for the rebirth of the Land Rover Defender. After a gap of nearly three years, the iconic SUV has finally been spotted testing undisguised. That too on the sets of the upcoming James Bond movie No Time To Die. And now Land Rover has released an official teaser video which reveals that the 2020 Defender will debut on September 10 during the first press day of the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Land Rover will be livestreaming the reveal event as well as taking orders for the rugged SUV at the same time. We already know from earlier spy photos that new Defender borrows some styling cues from its predecessors.
