Honda And Acura
Despite its relatively small scale of operations when put alongside Toyota, Honda continues to be Japan's most interesting auto maker, Asia's response to the European techno-house of Audi. Its IMA, for example, is a truly practical petrol-electric car, and the NSX continues to be the best supercar that no body has heard of. In between these comes an everyman range of cars, from the simple elegance of its Jazz city car through to the Volvo-rivalling Accord Tourer. There is also 1.0 litre insight, a strange-looking little hybrid car that, since the introduction of IMA, has fallen out favor. A neat two-seater sports car that feels distinctly European in execution. Honda has some really interesting products in the pipeline, which promises sparkling performance allied to outstanding economy. ACCORD/TSX Offered in both sedan and Touring (estate) variants, the sculpted Accord is a far more substantially-sized car than it looks at first glance; this is particularly the case with the stylish Touring version. Quite and comfortable and with a suspension system more geared as much to ride quality as it is sporting handling, the car has winning fans at a rate which is surprising even its advocates within the company.
The X-Runner gets its name from a unique X-brace on the rear of the frame. The Tacoma was really beefed up when it was redesigned for the 2005 model. The wheel flares are more muscular, character lines are more pronounced and the grille is a little more menacing. The Double Cab looks particularly good, especially in four-wheel-drive trim. The X-Runner, however, doesn't have a lean, athletic look worthy of its performance; it's just too burly with all its extra bodywork. The Tacoma interior gets a higher grade than other compact trucks, with a simple but effective layout, supportive seats and attention-to-detail build quality. The rearview monitor system features a small camera in the tailgate handle and a 2.5-inch display mounted in the rearview mirror. Ceiling-mounted speakers are included in all of the five sound systems offered throughout the lineup. Premium JBL audio, available only in the Double Cab, offers a six-CD changer, Bluetooth, seven speakers (including a subwoofer) and XM Satellite Radio. Toyota doesn't offer leather seating in the Tacoma, but there is a sport fabric on the X-Runner that's also available on the Access Cab and Double Cab in four-wheel-drive or PreRunner configurations.
British luxury carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover, has notched up its digital sales, hitting a mark of 15% from online leads. The group, owned by Indian carmaker Tata Motors, used its cross-channel marketing strategy to engage shoppers at every touch point of their purchasing process. The strategy was put in place by a partnership with Google. 鈥淐ross-channel digital marketing has become a cornerstone of our growth as a brand,鈥?said Kim Kyaw, Land Rover鈥檚 Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager. 鈥淚t鈥檚 always fun to work with a partner who鈥檚 going to push you and bring you new ideas,鈥?added Kyaw. 鈥淲ith Google, we work together to find the best solution for Land Rover鈥檚 needs. Knowing that nearly 95% of vehicle shoppers use digital avenues to research their purchases, Land Rover approached Google with an aim to reach out to those shoppers on all their devices, at every point in their buying journey. The luxury brand used cross-channel Range Rover campaigns on search, display, social and YouTube.
For years, Land Rover鈥檚 Range Rover was unparalleled in the luxury SUV segment. But with demand for SUVs soaring over the past decade it was only a matter of time until rivals started to challenge it. The current Range Rover is still hard to beat when it comes to an SUV that offers sublime luxury and serious off-roading potential but Land Rover isn鈥檛 resting on its laurels. The Range Rover and its Range Rover Sport cousin are approaching the midway point in their respective life cycles and to keep them fresh Land Rover will introduce some subtle updates. We鈥檝e already spied a prototype for the updated version of the Range Rover Sport and today it鈥檚 the Range Rover which is the focus of our spy shots. The prototype is sporting a new grille and a new bumper at the front. The design of the intakes on this front bumper is the only significant change. The wheel pattern is also one we haven鈥檛 seen on the Range Rover before. It鈥檚 not clear what mechanical updates are planned though we could finally see a gasoline-electric hybrid version on offer here in the United States. A diesel-electric hybrid version is offered overseas. Note, a pure diesel option was introduced here for the 2016 model year. The current Range Rover was introduced as a 2013 model. That means we should see this update introduced for the 2017 model year although it could be delayed until 2018 to coincide with the update for the Range Rover Sport. Look for a debut to take place late this year or early next.
