My son's LR2 decided to die on the service road on a Saturday afternoon. He called Land Rover Roadside Assistance (LRRA). Six hours later, a tow truck shows up to take his car the 3 miles to the dealership. He could have pushed it there faster. The dealership is closed when the LR2 arrives, so the LRRA driver leaves the vehicle outside the Land Rover Dallas service department, drops the keys in the dropbox and leaves. I call on Monday to get information. No call back. I call on Tuesday, and no call back. This continues for 3 days and I finally get a call back on Thursday. Its a good news/bad news call. The problem with the vehicle dying on the side of the road is covered by warranty. The bad news is that "the electrical shorts" are not covered, nor is the replacement battery. 1,000. So what happened? Apparently the LR2 was flooded with water that drained to the back of the vehicle and shorted out the electronics in the cargo area. So how did the vehicle get flooded? The LRRA driver had apparently left the care at the dealership with the sun roof open.
Hit the open road, and the powerplant cruises the Sierra at extra-legal speeds with just a few lazy rpm. Put pedal to metal and the engine bellow-blasts the truck towards the horizon with all the manic fury of a drag strip refugee. Aside from wallet-draining mileage- 11mpg in town and 16(ish) in "when's the next exit?" mode- the Vortec is everything you could want from a big block V8: smooth, powerful, punchy and charismatic. As for the rest of the truck- its design, ride, handling, brakes and comfort- the predominant theme is "great, for a pickup truck". Or, if you prefer, "crap". But let's face it: we've moved on from the "pickup as automotive work boot" mindset. 39k, four-door, five-seat vehicle driven by as many suburbanites as blue collar workers. As far as I'm concerned, as far as the vast majority of buyers are concerned, it's a car with a large, open, versatile luggage compartment.
Continual driving with low oil pressure may severely damage engine components. The red triangle with a exclamation mark in red signifies a critical warning and should be looked at immediately. Details of the warning can be seen in the message centre. The amber triangle with an exclamation mark in amber signifies a general warning (non-critical), or information. Details of the warning or information can be seen in the message centre. The symbol with a red exclamation mark will illuminate briefly as a bulb check when ignition is on start. If the light illuminates whilst driving, there鈥檚 either low brake fluid levels or a fault with the Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) system. Stop your Range Rover as soon as possible and check brake fluid levels. If light remains on, contact a qualified workshop before continuing your journey. Your running clothes hopefully include some modicum of reflection, but ensure drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists can see you with running bands. I like BSEEN鈥檚 double pack of LED armbands. 21 at Patagonia: This simple cap is great to have around if you鈥檙e going to run in light rain or light winds. 11 鈥?it鈥檚 a no-brainer that protects your brain. 18 at Brooks: The Run-Thru is interesting because it鈥檚 a breathable way to keep the rain out of your eyes and can double up in casual setting if you鈥檙e stopping by the store before heading home from your workout. Whatever your needs are, running during wintertime necessitates wintertimes running clothes and accessories. Suit up appropriately so you solely focus on getting distance, speed, or both. The D240 starts at 拢53,720 in Velar S trim, next to 拢48,289 for the more powerful, torquier, V6 Porsche Macan S. Elsewhere, the Velar鈥檚 engine appears in the Jaguar F-Pace from a far more reasonable 拢42,115. Our test Velar had a deeply impressive ride, however, thanks to its optional electronic air-suspension. It soaks up bumps effortlessly while maintaining a firm, reassuring poise through hard cornering. The design approach means that in just about any spec the Velar has a well appointed and extremely high-quality cabin - especially thanks to the car鈥檚 all-new Duo Touch twin-screen infotainment system. Unsurprisingly, range-topping HSE models add perforated and patterned two-tone leather upholstery, 20-way adjustable seats with heating, cooling and massage functions, as well as a digital instrument panel, plus JLR鈥檚 full suite of driver assist tech. While autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, park assist and blind spot assist are all present, the only semi-autonomous feature the Velar has is adaptive cruise control. HSE cars also get 21-inch wheels, a sliding panoramic roof and excellent Matrix LED lights. A 17-speaker Meridian sound system is also included.
