From here it is downhill on double track into Kilnsey Village with its distinctive overhanding rock, Kilnsey Crag. Turn left onto the Broad and after a half mile or so on the B6160 leave left onto a minor, unclassified road with the River Skirfare to your right coming down to the Upper Wharfe. Before long you come into Hawkswick Cote. The track on the left after the last houses brings you onto a rock-strewn, grassy track. If you feel like a detour climb up Cote Hill, on to High Cote Moor for long views down into Street Gate. You deserve this break, having covered about seventeen and a half miles. Up on your feet again, and back at Street Gate T-junction make a turn left onto the surfaced road and down into Malham Village. If you still feel like another detour, turn left through the kissing gate to Malham Cove. You can sit on the grass, looking up at the cliff with its trickle of water.

So what鈥檚 left off? Ignoring the miniature greenhouse and the solar-powered helicopter proposals (either likely would have been media sensations), the 2020 mission will not have the class of laboratory instruments included in the both Curiosity and the ExoMars 2018 payloads. Performing the most sensitive measurements requires larger instruments than can fit on the robotic arm. To address this, both the Curiosity and ExoMars rovers have instrument laboratories housed within their bodies. For example, the Curiosity and ExoMars mass spectrometers can identify the specific composition of organic molecules. This is useful to separate organics created from non-biotic processes from those created from possible biotic processes. The laser instruments to be carried by the 2020 rover will be limited to more general identification of the presence of broader groups of organic molecules. The mass spectrometer instruments proposed but not selected for the 2020 rover could have been more sensitive still than Curiosity and ExoMars鈥?

The Land Rover Discovery is built for a certain kind of person. It's built for the person who has a sense of adventure. A Land Rover driver loves to travel in the mountains and across rough terrain. They also need lots of space for people and cargo. If you're looking for something to fit your family or your extreme lifestyle, the Land Rover Discovery may be the right vehicle for you. The Discovery has features designed for an active lifestyle. Gradient Acceleration Control helps you drive on steep descents confidently. Terrain Response changes the settings of your car to fit whatever surface you're driving on. It has a large ground clearance as well as shorter front and back overhangs. This makes it easy to move around rocky terrains. Air suspension improves the smoothness of your ride which is usually a problem for off-road driving. The Discovery can even drive through water at a maximum of 700mm. It has a sensor that lets you know if the water isn't too deep. The Discovery has a towing capacity of 3,500kg. The Trailer Stability Assist supports the vehicle by keeping it under control while you're towing.

I didn鈥檛 bother with the rear-seat entertainment, on the basis that people have phones and iPads. And I skipped over the various things that would allow me to fix bikes to the roof and canoes to the tailgate. In fact, I skipped over most of the options, and yet, when I鈥檇 finished, the price was just shy of 拢80,000. I鈥檒l say that again. Anyone who pays that much for the Velour is completely mad. And in fact Land Rover has just updated the model, so you can鈥檛 order it as I configured it, though you might find one on a dealer鈥檚 forecourt. And yet we all pay hundreds of pounds for an iPhone, because it鈥檚 so tactile and nice to use. And people pay millions for a few swirls of paint. And that鈥檚 the trick Land Rover has pulled off with the Velour. You want one no matter what the price, because after you lock it, you鈥檒l never tire of turning round for one last look before you go through the front door.
