After A Long Drive From Tucson
I've gotten so accustomed to being in Redding, that it's almost like a second home to me. After a week of dealing with engine problems on BABs (my motorhome), I'm finally back in Redding, at Rover Hybrids, awaiting completion of the veggie conversion on the Land Rover so we can begin converting the motorhome. After a long drive from Tucson, I spent last Thursday night at Mono Lake Park. Friday morning, I had engine problems. The symptoms pointed to the fuel system, but I didn't have the tools, nor the knowledge, to attempt the repair myself, so I called a tow truck. The first truck that AAA sent me was too small, so I had to call another truck. The bigger truck wouldn't be available until the next morning, so I spent another night at the park. Fortunately, during this time, I had plenty of heat, water and food, so I was comfortable, if not happy, during my breakdown. On Saturday, I arranged a tow with a bigger truck, who wasn't able to reach me until midday.
The winners will be: Ford, GM and others that have already built a presence in the country. Small cars and cheap cars will be among the fastest growing segments in Europe, as car buyers look for value and taxation will increasingly favor low-weight, fuel-efficient vehicles. Few carmakers will release new models in this range, but, among low-cost cars, Renault's Logan will continue its expansion. The losers will be: Any company that is not willing to invest heavily. Decontented versions of existing cars are not the right solution. The year 2008 is likely to see sports car maker Porsche take majority control of Volkswagen. That will open the way for increased technical cooperation between the two automakers, which should help lower costs. It will also raise potential competitive issues between Porsche and VW's premium-car unit, Audi. And a statement by Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking that all VW divisions should make money will cast doubt over the future of VW subsidiaries Lamborghini and Bugatti. The winner will be: Wiedeking. The losers will be: Anyone who defies him.
Mention the words European Car and Filipinos will have the following results: luxury brands like BMW, Benz, or Audi, sports car brands like Porsche or any exotic from Italy, Land Rover for off-roaders, and old VWs for nostalgia stake. For any car brand from the Continental side, you'll be treated like a stranger unless there is enough marketing done. First introduced as an MPV to the European market in 2009, this vehicle developed a fan base due to its spacious cabin and futuristic exterior and owners call it the "Space Wagon". After a seven year run, it bowed down and was replaced by a crossover SUV version of this vehicle. Under the helm of Columbian Autocar Corporation (Kia, BMW, Mahindra), the Peugeot brand had a comeback with the 5008 being the first four models to be brought in. Three models were available paired to two engines were first made available from November 2012 until an update three years later reduced to one model - the expensive top of the line.
That makes it just slightly shorter, a bit wider and somewhat more squatted than the Infiniti G37. The curb weight measures 3550 pounds making it a full 65 pounds lighter then the G37 as well. The 2010 Genesis by Hyundai has the ability to perform as well. It features a 3.8L 310hp 263 lb-ft 24-valve V6 that definitely causes people to hold their children tightly as you pass by. These figures are slightly lower than the G37, but the Genesis has a definitive torque/rpm advantage. In fact, the Hyundai Genesis is ahead of all of its competition on the torque/rpm list. Hyundai also states that the Genesis can run on either premium or regular fuel and lose no more than 4 horses in the switch. Exterior design standards are explicit and bold - further challenging all competitors to come out and play. The rear side window features a notched-out belt line that catches the eye in athletic fashion. Additionally, the entire vehicle is very present with its Z-shaped character lines. Dihedral headlamps add a distinctive flare to the design as do the accentuated hoof strakes and rounded-out front bumper. The 2010 Hyundai Genesis is nothing if it isn't a slap in the face to all of its self-named competitors. It emerges onto the scene in fearless fashion to take and give blows until it either prevails or falters. It's a risk for Hyundai - and one that no other automakers have the stones to take. That leads one to assume that Hyundai is either completely crazy - or maybe they know exactly what they are doing. It's definitely a match to be anticipated: Hyundai verses every top automaker in a test of innovation, performance, style and audacity.
