British Cross Country Championship BXCC
鈥淭he new Tremec sequential gearbox was built by Lofthouse Motorsport and ACR Deeside with the assistance of PPG and it completely changed the way the car drives,鈥?said Moran. 鈥淲e鈥檝e looked at every element of the car to give us the best chance of taking the title. 鈥淲alters last year was a disaster for us, we cut a corner early on and hit a boulder which broke the steering rack and ripped the front tyre off as well as nearly rolling the car. Behind the two championship contenders there promises to be a close battle with three crews presently separated by just three points. The event is likely to be the last time the Bartletts Racing Bowler will be seen in the BCCC. Team navigator Aaron Burch commented: 鈥淲e鈥檝e had a great season in the car and have thoroughly enjoyed each event but we are itching to be racing the 206 again next year. In the Freelander Challenge the title race is between the Race2Recovery team and Ian Linford. After a great debut BCCC season Linford will round off his year by competing on Wales Rally GB in his standard Land Rover Freelander.

In March 2000, BMW announced plans to restructure and sell substantial parts of the Rover Group and threatened to close Rover completely. In response the government brought together local actors through the West Midlands Regional Development Agency (RDA) and Government Office of the West Midlands (GOWM) by setting up the Rover Task Force (RTF). After a local consortium purchased Rover, and Land Rover was sold to Ford, the RTF focused on modernising the auto cluster, diversifying into other clusters, and a regeneration programme linking cluster policy with spatial targeting. This paper assesses the role of the RTF as a response to the crisis and explores to what extent regionally based cluster policies are likely to succeed, using the RTF as an example. Whilst the RDA and GOWM were in a sense able to use the RTF to legitimise and adapt their emerging clusters policy, there have been a number of advantages arising from the RTF鈥檚 work. However, there are limits to what a resource-constrained RDA can achieve given the fragmentation of policy delivery in the region, given trends in the auto industry and given the tensions with and incompatibilities of central government policy. The case also raises the critical issue of coordination of regionally based cluster policies where the cluster in question clearly crosses administrative regional boundaries.
The Discovery Sport will also get the upgraded underpinning to allow the electrification from 2020. The new Evoque will, on the other hand, switch to the new Premium Traverse Architecture. The mid-updated Discovery Sport will also boost the interior design and features to stay neck to neck with the class newcomers. Some reports claim that model will come with the multiple screens infotainment system following the pattern of the Velar model but other reports claim the Touch Pro Duo setup won鈥檛 arrive in the refreshed model. Still, the model will get upgraded infotainment features and the center stack. As for the for the engine options the 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport should get the revised and cleaner diesel units outside the US. The improvements in ride and performance should also hit the US version but no exact details yet. The current US version exploits a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine available in two versions. The base version delivers 237 hp and torque of 251 pound-feet. A more powerful version provides 286 hp and 295 pound-feet of twisting. The 9-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive are also part of the deal. The plug-in hybrid version when arrives should integrate the 1.5-liter combustion engine. It should also be the case with the new Evoque. The updated 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport will go on sale later in 2019. The debut should take place early in the year.
Land Rover Discovery Series II -- The Discovery model was introduced in the States in 1994, and again, was something different from what Americans had seen from Land Rover before. Easily distinguished by the unusual raised roof, alpine windows, and roof rack, the Discovery bridged the gap between the utilitarian Defender and the luxurious Range Rover. Although there was generous head- and legroom, the SUV's tall and narrow proportions resulted in poor shoulder and hip room. It would be one of the first Land Rovers to be marketed as a family vehicle, although it lacked much of the comfort and conveniences typical of a family car. In the Series II Discovery model, Land Rover claimed it had made 720 changes. The interior and exterior were reworked to be less utilitarian, while still staying true to its predecessor's styling. The rear body was also extended to improve load space. However, in making the Discovery more of a family ride, off-road capability was compromised by the increased rear overhang. The Discovery served as a stepping stone for the eventual LR4, which more evenly balances family life with off-road capability.
