We pop in to check out the river at the entrance to the Makgadikgadi Game Reserve near the main road. The river is in flood. Trees are under water and the park inaccessible from this side. We recall one of our first trips, perhaps 20 years ago when we crossed the Boteti as a swollen river. Our trailer actually floated as we crossed. We鈥檙e back on the long tar road north to Maun, wondering what the water level is going to be like there. At 4pm on Day 2, we enter Maun, on the eastern fringe of the Delta. What used to be an almost derelict outpost, a frontier town leading into the Okavango, the tar road that has brought us here has also brought bustle to Maun. 鈥淚 remember when we used to get stuck in Maun.鈥?Hennie remarks and he鈥檚 referring to sand, not traffic. Now Maun has parking fees.
HE man from Land Rover looked and sounded reassuringly confident. Set the Terrain Response for grass/gravel/snow, switch on the Hill Descent Control, ease the car over the top, take your feet off the pedals and the car will do the rest,' he said. At the top of this particular hill on Anglesey, the bonnet of the new Range Rover Evoque was pointing skywards. Slightly apprehensive, we inched the nose over the top. The drop seemed terrifying but the brakes kicked in with the HDC and we crawled down at about three miles an hour. Despite its compact size the Evoque has been put through the same Evoque punishing test and development regime as its larger Freelander and Range Rover cousins. The Evoque, being built exclusively on Merseyside at the Halewood plant, goes on sale in September. This new mini-sport utility vehicle, the smallest ever Range Rover, is targeted at BMW's X1 and Audi's Q3.
Maps will always be up-to-date thanks to SOTA technology. In combination with the 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display, the advanced system provides high-definition 3D mapping within the instrumentation, leaving the central touchscreen free to control other applications. The high-resolution digital instruments can be configured to show a pair of conventional dials, full-screen 3D navigation guidance or a combination of the two, allowing drivers to optimise the display to suit the circumstances and their individual preference. Driver distractions are kept to the absolute minimum with Land Rover's Generation 2 Head-up Display (HUD). The full-colour backlit TFT set-up provides key information to the driver, while its new video capability can replicate displays from the central touchscreen - including articulation graphics to assist the driver in off-road environments. These include a 3D Surround Camera that goes above and beyond, providing both 360-degree plan and new 3D exterior perspective views of the surrounding area, both off and on road.

Toyota will price the RX 400h/Harrier Hybrid at a substantial premium over the non-hybrid RX 300/ RX 330/ Harrier. The list price in Japan ranges from 4.095 million Yen to 4.62 million Yen. The assistance of the electric motor increases the vehicle's performance; the 400h/ Harrier Hybrid can reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in less than 8 s, quicker than the petrol-only RX. Despite the increased performance, the RX 400h/ Harrier Hybrid consumes roughly the same amount of petrol as a compact four-cylinder saloon and it qualifies as a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) in America. The 2007 Lexus RX 350 features a 24-valve V6 engine with 270 horsepower at 6,200 RPM and 251 pound-feet of torque at 4,700 RPM. To ensure the most comfortable driving experience, the RX 350 comes standard with a five-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT), which provides improved acceleration at lower speeds. And on the highway, a smoother, quieter ride. The RX comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) featuring a viscous limited-slip center differential.
