2019 Land Rover LR2 Review

2019 Land Rover LR2 Review

Beginning with the HSE trim, standard features include auto-leveling xenon headlights, LED signature lighting, and mirrors with approach lighting and an automatic reverse tilting function. All models are available with 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. The LR2 doesn鈥檛 offer standard wood cabin trim or optional ventilated seats, like the 2015 Audi Q5. What Land Rover does offer is a simple yet attractive interior design that鈥檚 anchored by a bold center-stack arrangement. The standard rear seats in the LR2 are positioned 2 inches higher than the front seats, which improves the view for second-row passengers. They leave room for 26.7 cubic feet of rear storage, too. If you need more, the second row also has a standard 60/40-split, and when both sides are folded, the vehicle serves up 58.9 cubic feet of cargo space. For standard equipment, Land Rover supplies leather upholstery, six-way power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with a tilt-and-telescoping column. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are options for all trim levels.

Just look at the Four-Ball wear test comparisons to see what Im talking about. So wouldnt it be in GM's best interest (or any automobile manufacturer for that matter) to put a lesser quality oil in their vehicles and not recommend the absolute, best oil in the world? And believe me, THIS IS EXACTLY what ALL OF THE AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURERS WANT It's a little thing they call PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE. And when you use AMSOIL in your engine, transmission and/or rear-end differential, you are essentially CHEATING the manufacturers' planned obsolecense. This is why automobile manufacturers would prefer that you do NOT LEARN ABOUT AMSOIL. And you want to spend this kind of outrageous money on a vehicle and then put the cheapest oil you can find in it? 40,000 vehicles every year? Believe me, they smile all the way to the bank everytime you hand out your hard earned dollars on a depreciating asset only to replace it in a short time period later.

In 2016, a Ferrari 458 Italia driven by Fabio Barone ripped through the tight, twisting ribbon of asphalt known as Tianmen Road. Located in China, this 7.0-mile stretch features 99 sharp corners, sheer drop offs, and little room for error. Barone completed his run in just 10:31. And now that run is history, because it was just bested by a Land Rover. Not just any Land Rover, of course. The brilliantly blue Land Rover the broke the Ferrari's record is a Range Rover Sport SVR, which means it's equipped with a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine that cranks out 575 horsepower. Apparently that's enough power to blow the doors off the time set by the Ferrari. Tung has quite the list of wins under his belt with regards to his motorsport career. In fact, he finished first in class at the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans. That drive was good for second place overall. Now Tung has taken his talents to Formula E where he's helping the Jaguar team in silent battle mode. That's probably a good fit, as Ho-Pin clearly has a handle on the larger JLR products. Is it possible that a Ferrari driver could take another whack at this record? Certainly. But until that happens, Land Rover and Tung have the fastest time to clear that 7.0-mile distance. And it's certainly quite a bit more remarkable to see someone make the run in a large Range Rover than it is in a smaller sports car. What's also more interesting about the Range Rover, is that it can ditch the road route entirely and just take the stairs.
