2019 Land Rover LR2

2019 Land Rover LR2

It鈥檚 powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque (at only 3,200 rpm). The powerplant is 10 horsepower and 16 pound-feet of torque more than the 3.2-liter naturally-aspirated inline six-cylinder engine that it replaces. Furthermore the new engine is 88 pounds lighter. Mated to an Aisin AWF21 six-speed automatic transmission engineered with advanced neutral logic control to reduce internal drag when the vehicle is stationary gives it an EPA-estimated mileage figure of 24 miles per gallon (highway). The transmission is coupled to a full-time four-wheel drive system featuring a Haldex rear axle differential. To just say the LR2 is capable is to say Robert De Nero is a decent actor. Whether it鈥檚 over the woods or through the river the LR2, as well as all its company siblings, will get you there. The Terrain Response System is one of the core Land Rover technologies that gives the vehicle its outstanding range of capabilities.

Here is a little riddle! Rear-wheel drive, wind in the hair, aggressiveness, style, unique driving pleasure and 245PS? There is only one answer having all these qualities - 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i. Although the car is not an entirely new model, it received BMW鈥檚 brand new 2.0 liter twin-scroll turbocharged petrol engine with a nice power of 245PS (180 kW) and a train-pulling 350Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. 2012 Z4 sDrive28i accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and still returns a nice 41.5 mpg on combined cycle with emissions below 160 g/km. This is possible thanks to a number of modern technology - Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing and VALVETRONIC variable valve opening. The top speed of the roadster is 250 km/h (155 mph), doesn鈥檛 matter whether the roof is up or down. The latest BMW鈥檚 roadster has a lot of advantages over the other rivals, but price will not be one of them.

LR2 a nimble, spritely small SUV. That鈥檚 correct: A brand known for off-road capability has a spritely and nimble small SUV. The LR2 is fun to drive thanks to its agility, though it doesn鈥檛 feel very sporty when pushed too hard, thanks to noticeable body roll. In addition to improving horsepower, the new engine boosts gas mileage from 2012鈥檚 trucklike 15/22 mpg city/highway to an EPA-estimated 17/24 mpg. While better than before, that still lags all-wheel-drive competitors like the BMW X3 xDrive28i and the Acura RDX, which are rated 21/28 and 19/27, respectively. Land Rover sourced the new engine from the ultra-modern Evoque, which has higher gas mileage ratings of 20/28 mpg. The 2.0-liter gives the LR2 a superb driving experience, with the exception of accelerator lag from a standing start. Some of what鈥檚 new on the inside is also sourced from the Evoque: a multimedia system with an easy-to-use 7-inch touch-screen for navigation, radio and Bluetooth phone controls.
