The two aren鈥檛 quite the same and the SLS AMG will always live on as a one-of-a-kind sports car, but the AMG GT has a much more affordable price tag, relatively speaking. With sales continually on the decline, Nissan chose to let go of the Xterra from its lineup. In order to keep it on the market, the automaker would have had to upgrade the SUV鈥檚 safety and emissions equipment and it appears that the investment wasn鈥檛 worth it.
For these cars filling the tank is less important and indeed you may want to keep their fuel level low so you can fill with fresh gas in the spring. Run the car at least 30 minutes to get it thoroughly warmed up; an hour鈥檚 hard run is better. You want to make sure you have boiled any stray moisture out of the engine and exhaust system before shutting the car off for the season. You want to store the car with reasonably clean oil; some suggest changing oil right before winter storage while others argue for changing the oil first thing in the spring. In my opinion, the oil in your collector car should always be fairly clean so that no special attention is required for storage. As a practical matter, I can say with confidence that cars often go into the shop to be "checked over for spring" where shop visits to "prep for winter" are fairly uncommon.
I agree that it is a bad lease deal but that is also typical of Land Rover. None of Land Rovers models lease well because they DO NOT PROVIDE lease incentives. The only time Land Rover provides lease incentives is for end of model year clearance and then only if there is an excess of ground stock. Right now they are decent Lease deals on the 2007 LR3 and there were decent lease deals on the 2007 Range Rover. They never came out with lease deals on the 2007 Range Sport because there was no left over ground stock. Most of the 2007 Range Rovers are sold now so the lease special will probably be discontinued at the end of the quarter if not earlier. I would like to see Land Rover provide better lease support for all of their vehicles but they will not do that. I have asked and they have basically given the same explanation I gave you. A few things you probably don't know.
Land Rover certified pre-owned vehicles undergo a 165-point inspection process. Certified technicians will check the condition of all systems, including the electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems. The inspection process also evaluates the vehicle鈥檚 luggage compartment, interior, and emissions. Inspectors will check the car鈥檚 individual components, from paintwork to airbags to infotainment functions. Finally, the required road test makes sure that the car鈥檚 engine, brakes, and suspension are in top shape. The Land Rover Approved Certified Limited Warranty covers vehicles for up to seven years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, as long as the vehicle is serviced as recommended by Land Rover. The seven-year/100,000-mile CPO warranty extends the vehicle鈥檚 original four-year/50,000-mile warranty. The CPO warranty is transferrable to subsequent owners. Coverage starts from the vehicle鈥檚 original in-service date. There is no deductible for repairs covered by the Approved Certified Pre-Owned Program. Owners are also entitled to reimbursement for lodging, transportation, and other travel-related expenses if a certified pre-owned Land Rover breaks or becomes disabled due to a defect covered by the warranty. Each certified pre-owned Land Rover comes with a vehicle history report that documents its service history, ownership record, and mileage. How Does It Compare to Rivals? Volvo鈥檚 warranty covers three years or 50,000 miles after the original four-year/50,000-mile warranty expires. Lexus鈥?CPO warranty is good for two years after its four-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle basic warranty expires, but mileage is unlimited. Mercedes-Benz provides an unlimited-mileage warranty for one year and offers buyers the choice to extend the original warranty for up to two additional years.
