With a price tag of 拢40k, on paper it could possibly be considered affordable. However, like most high-end car dealerships, JLR dealer's money is made on the customisable upgrades, of which the new Defender is certainly not short. Official add-ons, such as a variety of pet packs, a portable rinse system and an integrated air compressor, show that JLR have obviously considered at least some of the needs and wants of their loyal customers. However, the augmented value of a purchase from such an auspicious manufacturer as Jaguar Land Rover, such as aftercare and dealership services also make up the entire value of a Defender. A huge selling point of the original was ease of maintenance. Why would they even consider replacing their old workhorse when it still serves its purpose so well? All-wheel drive is standard, and the LR2 offers select driver settings to optimize traction in different driving conditions. The 2014 Land Rover LR2's interior cabin feels more roomy compared to other compact SUVs. Much of this roomy feel is accredited to the combination of a panoramic sunroof and its large windows that lets in lots of scenery and natural light.
I think most people spent as much time in the campground as they did in the Expo. 200. Lots of people came by and asked to check out our Dormobile and of course we were glad to show them. We met one couple from Canada who own a Dormobile and spent two months in Morocco in theirs. I said if they can handle two months together in that car then their marriage is sure to go the distance. By the way, they are thinking of selling their Dormobile. One thing we all found interesting was that there were more Land Rovers than any other car. I was expecting to see more Toyotas and Jeeps. After a discussion I learned that Jeeps are too small for Overlanding, but I did expect more Toyotas. On Saturday night, we had another great dinner. Then Linda used her dutch oven for the first time. She made a dump apple cobbler, which was more like an apple crisp. It was very yummy. Sunday morning we were woken up by a symphony of dog barks. This only reinforced our resolve not to get a dog. Many people were up and out of the camp early, and only the 鈥淩over Divas鈥?and their three families remained. We got some good Rover Diva shots and then we all parted ways until the next trip. Great weekend spent with great people!
