"And He Built A Crooked House"

"And He Built A Crooked House"

A particular story I enjoy is a tale of the fourth dimension. And they all lived together in a little crooked house. The crooked house in the sci-fi story is a folded tesseract that, when unfolded, leads to other dimensions in space-time. Step into the house and you never know where - or when - you are going to visit. In the 1941 short story that first appeared in "Astounding Science Fiction", the address of a magic four-dimensional house is a real one near that of author Robert A. Heinlein's own house when he wrote the story. He chose a real address, but how many addresses does a real four-dimensional house need? That might depend upon how many points in space-time it can reach. In the Heinlein story, an ambitious architect becomes drunk with a friend and begins to complain about the state of architecture in 1940s America -- It is too conservative. It is too confining.

The average duration for new-car ownership has been cited as 71.4 months (nearly 6 years). That鈥檚 a long time to be married to a vehicle you may end up not liking. Two years ago when I embarked on finding a new car to own and drive, it was never my intention to look at 95 (or even 25) vehicles. I just couldn鈥檛 find one that had the comfort, visibility and other features that were important to me鈥?and it didn鈥檛 seem to matter how much I spent. 55,000, which enabled me to look at a lot of vehicles. It鈥檚 mind-boggling how vehicle designers fail to comprehend certain user-friendly features including interior storage space which ultimately became a time-consuming part of my assessment. It鈥檚 pretty basic stuff: door pockets, seatback pockets, glove box, and bins in the ceiling, dashboard and center console. We all need places to store things, so you鈥檇 think automakers would maximize the number and size of storage spaces, and design these spaces for items that folks most often use. You would think that, right?

It's incredibly simple, handy and versatile. But now there is a new problem; your head unit doesn't fit in with your rest of your car. It's obvious that you've pulled off part of the dashboard and just stuck a new head unit in. You might have better sound, but you've cheapened the appearance of your car as a whole. Well, of course not. Your new car stereo wasn't designed to fit in specifically with your make and model of car. It was designed to fit equally well into a Seat Ibiza, a Skoda Fabia or a Kia Rio. This is where fascia adaptors come in. A fascia adaptor is a plastic frame designed to fit around the outside of the new head unit, blending it into the surrounding design of your car. The genius of the piece is its simplicity. It doesnt obscure the display or controls of the stereo, but it does make it look smart. DIN and double DIN fitting kits allow you to fit an aftermarket car stereo without radically altering the appearance of your cars dashboard. Fascia adaptors are available for a wide range of major car brands, including Peugeot, Honda, Ford, Land Rover and Chrysler. Please do note, however; some fascia adaptors will require you to buy the appropriate 聯cage聰 to hold your stereo and fascia in place. Finding a matching cage and fascia adaptor can be a pain, but the best car audio suppliers will offer both as part of the same deal where appropriate. A fascia adaptor allows your car to have style, consistant design and the very best quality of music and audio. Like all great ideas, it is simple but effective. You dont need any technical expertise to fit the adaptors, its a quick process and any small instructions you might need should be easily available online.

It鈥檚 been a fantastic trip. We have done a little less than 5.000Km with little amount of Km on the roads. We started the trip as a big group and finished it with just 5 Land Rovers, 9 people. The whole thing has been one of the most amazing experiences I鈥檝e ever had. My brother and I started the trip on Friday the 26th of October. All the way down to Almeria and ferry to Melilla. In the ferry we met most of the other people on the expedition. The 28th was very similar, very long day, driving off road all the time, some orientation was needed, as we didn鈥檛 follow lots of trailed paths. We arrived to the Baraka (Merzouga), we had a big nice dinner. The 29th was the day for the big dunes, Erg Chebbi, dunes are always fun, we ended up having lunch in an oasis next to the big dune.
