2019 Land Rover LR2 Pricing, Reviews & Ratings
In keeping with a longstanding Land Rover tradition, the LR2's cabin is roomy and flexible. The rear seat can comfortably accommodate two adults or three children, and folds flat to expand cargo capacity from 26.5 cubic feet to a maximum 58.9 cubic feet of space. You'll find plenty of Land Rover heritage inside the LR2 with traditional high-end materials and build quality. Although barely three inches longer than Land Rover's first small SUV, the Freelander, the LR2 gains almost four inches in wheelbase, which leads to a considerably larger cabin with adult-friendly seating space in the front and rear quarters. Both seat-up and seat-down cargo capacities are good for this class, and the rear bay is easily accessed by a large, one-piece rear hatch with a bumper-level cutout. The multifaceted 2010 Land Rover LR2 bolsters its impressive mechanical roster of all-wheel drive, Roll Stability Control (RSC), Terrain Response System, anti-lock brakes (ABS) and Hill Descent Control/Gradient Release Control with numerous people-pleasing touches.
I have had a 2004 land cruiser with roughly 210k miles. I previously had a 2006 LR3 SE for about 4 years. Anyways, my land cruiser is getting up there in miles and repairs are cropping up more and more. 800 for the timing belt and water pump, and will likely need to do the front suspension at some point. It鈥檚 also just an old vehicle. There are two 2014 LR4s about 90 miles from my house. Each are the HSE Lux with the HD package. 24-25k. Neither have the tow package unfortunately. One is gray exterior, other black, both have black interiors. While these are very nice vehicles, and arguably too nice for me, I will putting AT tires on them and getting them dirty in the national forests. I鈥檒l likely add some skid plates for sensitive areas and rock rails. I鈥檒l add the tow package as well since I occasionally tow. I wish I could spend more time off road, but with small kids, it鈥檚 tough. Anyways, I know what Land Rover ownership can look like. Thankfully, then platform is well understood and most of the problems sorted now, unlike back in 2008. Regardless, am I an idiot for thinking about this? I loved my LR3, but it was anything but smooth sailing.
37,250 and three models are available (LR2, HSE, HSE LUX) with the price raising a couple of grand with each jump. The LR2 boasts an all-wheel drive system by Haldex, and features Terrain Response that allows the driver to choose between four settings based upon the driving conditions faced (General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud & Ruts, and Sand). Off-road, the car handles practically anything you can throw at it, from impossibly steep descents, river crossings and mud deep enough to drown a small dog. When the going becomes less rough, the LR2 keeps going. The ride feels firm and poised, and the car exudes more agility and engagement than you would expect from a machine that made its name from scaling mountains. The Land Rover LR2 is not just a one-trick pony. It's a compact SUV that can do it all. The LR2 is undeniably Land Rover. In fact, it isn't far behind the Range Rovers in the looks department. Neighbors would be forgiven for thinking you received a promotion at work and bought yourself a Range Rover Sport. We think the LR2 is better looking than the bigger LR4, which appears boxy and slightly awkward.
That's perfectly fine, because despite its pretensions towards improved handling the Camry XSE is a sheep in wolf's clothing. I couldn't discern any enhanced steering response or cornering capability in the car compared to previous versions of the sedan, but nor did I lament a crashing suspension over Montreal's snow-covered, yet still pothole-infested pavement. That's not to say that the 2015 Toyota Camry is a slug out on the road - far from it. The four-cylinder engine in my test vehicle was quite lively, with a smooth character that belied its small displacement. Toyota has done an excellent job in pairing the 2.5-liter motor to its six-speed automatic gearbox, which kicked down when necessary and slipped into Eco mode during periods of more staid cruising. Other bonuses for the 2015 Camry include a stiffer chassis that has been treated to additional welds regardless of whether you order the XSE or SE models. There's also claims of a quieter interior, with certain versions of the sedan providing additional insulation (including an acoustically-treated windshield) to help reduce road noise. My week with the Camry coincided with a particularly brutal batch of snow squalls and freezing temperatures, a set of environmental circumstances that the car handled without much complaint aside from rather disconnected steering feel in the slush. The 2015 Toyota Camry's edgier exterior styling and swankier interior wrap around a platform that brings more of the same conservative, comfortable, and competent motoring to the mid-size conversation. The Camry's a solid family sedan, if an unexciting one (even in XSE trim), and it's deserving of a test drive by anyone who wants to benefit from the brand's excellent reputation for reliability and resale value.
