The 2006 Land Rover LR3 represents the brand's ongoing improvements in the SUV luxury vehicle market. In 2006 Land Rover decided to also offer the vehicle in a V6 model which made some of the vehicles produced more affordable. The 2006 Land Rover LR3 maintained most of the best options and features made famous by the initial 2005 model. It maintains its off road durability and power while still being stylish and sophisticated. The vehicle gets approximately 19 mpg in highway mileage. Most SUV鈥檚 are notorious for getting poor gas mileage, preventing many vehicle manufacturers from releasing smaller, more economical SUV's. This fact helps distinguish the LR3 from its competitors. The vehicle is well suited for off-road capabilities, and has multiple traction settings that can be switched at the flick of a button to suit any road conditions. This control has the vehicle's computer adapt all of its systems for maximum traction in any given situation.
Interior updates include new seats, doorsills, and 鈥減remium soft-touch materials.鈥?Standard models make do with eight-way power-adjustable front seats, while spending the big bucks can net fourteen-way seats with optional massagers. The biggest news in the interior is the much-anticipated arrival of Land Rover鈥檚 InControl Touch infotainment system. Standard kit, the system features allegedly easy-to-navigate menus and allows users to swipe between screens as on a smartphone. It also lets owners access several phone-based apps using the center-console touch screen via InControl Apps functionality. InControl Touch Plus can also be specified (it is, however, standard on HSE and above), bundling nav, rear-seat entertainment with a pair of eight-inch screens and wireless headphones, and an 11- or 17-speaker stereo. New powertrain options include a pair of TD4 diesels from JLR鈥檚 new Ingenium engine family, but those won鈥檛 be coming here鈥攁t least not yet, as the diesels have yet to be approved for use stateside.
After reporting record sales in 2016, and predicting the momentum will continue through 2017, Wolfgang Hoffmann, President, Jaguar Land Rover Canada says luxury is still a driving force north of the border. You鈥檝e just come back from the 2017 Montreal Auto Show. What was creating the most buzz at the Jaguar Land Rover stand? At the Montreal Auto Show the all-new Land Rover Discovery made its Canadian debut, which was obviously the big story for us. It goes on sale in Canada in May and the response has already been tremendous. While the LR4 model has always been a solid sales performer for us, I think the more contemporary styling of the new Discovery, together with its added versatility and availability of diesel power, will widen its appeal. Did the show stand get plenty of visitors? You had a great sales success story to tell Canadian journalists on the Montreal show press day. Can you tell us more about that? How do you expect sales to be in the coming year? How successful have Jaguar and Land Rover new diesel models been in Canada?
