Car News! Land Rover LR2 SUV

For 2015, the Land Rover LR2 gets new Black Pack and Silver Pack options that include distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels, a navigation system and unique appearance details. Also, the 17-speaker Meridian audio system is available as a stand-alone option on the base and HSE trims. If you take a typical compact luxury crossover onto snow-clogged side streets or muddy backcountry trails, you'll likely end up with expensive towing bill. Most of these supposed utility vehicles simply aren't designed to tackle truly demanding conditions. The 2015 Land Rover LR2, on the other hand, will feel right at home with its sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and generous ground clearance. If you're looking for a fancy crossover that's not afraid to get dirty, the LR2 certainly fills the bill. The 2015 Land Rover LR2 is a compact four-door luxury crossover SUV with seating for five passengers. It's offered in three trim levels: base, HSE and HSE Lux.

The engineers are particularly proud of two new features, Terrain Response 2 and Dynamic Response. TR2 is standard and denotes an additional mode that autonomously selects the appropriate drive program from an unchanged choice of five settings; DR is Land Rover-speak for self-acting, switchable antiroll bars and comes on all supercharged models. Driver intervention is still required to dial in low range and hill-descent control. Shod with optional 275/45WR-21 Goodyears, our Range Rover doesn't ride all that well around town, where the stiff sidewalls and the firm air springs make for bobbing headlights and tap dancing over drainage grids. Above 40 mph, however, all that goes away, and instead, a cushy comfort zone prevails. Unlike its ancestors, which were all over the place when pushed hard, the new Range Rover is in total command. The steering in particular is a real gem. It holds a straight line even on bumpy off-camber blacktop, provides exactly the right measure of turn-in support, is incredibly precise, and executes sudden changes of direction without undue weight and effort.

However this gap has been narrowed, as the import duty on cars has now been lowered to 10%, compared with 5% for SUVs. Due to high oil prices and a declining economy since the mid-2000s, sales of SUVs and other light trucks have fallen. In June 2008, General Motors announced plans to close four plants manufacturing trucks and SUVs, including the Oshawa Truck Assembly. The company cited decreased sales of large vehicles in the wake of rising fuel prices. As many SUV owners never actually exploit the off-road capabilities of their vehicle, newer SUVs (including crossovers) now have lower ground clearance and suspension designed primarily for paved roads. SUVs are also used to explore places otherwise unreachable by other vehicles. In Australia, China, Europe, South Africa, South America and the United States at least, 4WD clubs have been formed for this purpose. Modified SUVs also take part in races, including the Paris-Dakar Rally and the Australian Outback.

It was truly remarkable how far they went even after the sale, to satisfy me. They definitely cared for my satisfaction and business. These days when we can buy a car from vending machines and yet only a few dealerships understand the importance of providing exceptional customer experience. JLR of Austin definitely sets this bar. Robert & JLR of Austin will be my first stop for any car needs in the future. I've owned 5 Range Rovers over many, many years and love the car in general. I would never buy one from RR Austin. The dealership is ghetto & unbelievably disappointed with the service department. The following week they claim they are still waiting for the part. I walked in yesterday to look at a Porsche. Working with Bill who was recommend by a couple of friends. If you are looking at buy a car from Jaguar Land Rover of Austin ask for Bill.

The internal business processes and learning and growth perspective has been quite sound in both Ford Motor Company and Tata Motors but the perspectives have been entirely different. Ford Motor Company has focused on localization of products at a global platter whereby they keep their parts supply chain centralized and assemble cars as per the local requirements of a region after studying the needs. This has resulted in they able to deliver different variants of cars as per the requirements of different countries using the same spares supplied by their centralized supply chain vendor. Hence, the internal learning and growth of Ford Motors has been very comprehensive with localized knowledge captured from various countries and the benefits of global knowledge and experience effectively mixed with the localized knowledge. Tata Motors appear to be far behind this strategy as compared to Ford Motors but they appear to be taking the same path towards globalization.
