2019 LAND ROVER LR3 Problems With Suspension

2019 LAND ROVER LR3 Problems With Suspension

LAST WEEK THE AMBER LIGHT ON THE SUSPENSION HEIGHTS IS ON AGAIN WITH CHIMES EACH TIME THE ENGINE STARTS. 3 DAYS AGO, I WAS DRIVING TO A SUPERMARKET WHEN THE AMBER LIGHT TURNED RED, THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED, THE VEHICLE DROPPED TO A LOW STANCE AND VERY BOUNCY. IT MADE STRANGE NOISE FROM THE LEFT REAR SIDE, I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE MORE THAN 25 MILES PER HOUR, AS IT WILL BOUNCE WILDLY. THE CAR IS NOW STILL STUCK IN A LOW LEVEL SUSPENSION, PARKED IN THE A PARKING SPACE NEAR MY HOUSE. LUCKY IT HAPPENS NOT MORE THAN 10 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE, SO I DROVE IT VERY SLOWLY. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS IN A FREEWAY, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE INSIDE QUICKLY. CHANGED THE TIRES ALREADY AT 32,000 MILES AND ALMOST NEED TO CHANGE THEM AGAIN AT 47,000. WAS TOLD THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS BUILT WRONG ON THE TRUCK. LANDROVER NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEMS AND GET NEWS TIRES.

Cameras: The front-jump-seat Defenders come with a rearview mirror able to be switched to a rear camera feed for even better visibility than the mirror. ADAS: Blind spot assist steers you away from merging into a vehicle in the blind spot. Other ADAS includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, driver monitoring, autobraking, traffic sign monitoring, 鈥淩ear Pre-Collision Monitor鈥?鈥?which flashes your hazards when some idiot is about to rear-end you. And that鈥檚 just some of what鈥檚 available. OTA: 14 modules on the vehicle are able to download updates over the air. An actuator-controlled piston operated by the foot pedal applies braking effort, delivering much finer control. The system comes into its own during low-speed off-road maneuvers and, when the Traction Control and Emergency Braking(18) systems are triggered, it can lock a wheel within only 150 milliseconds - versus 300 milliseconds with a conventional set-up. Trailer: You can steer the trailer from a center console controller if the vehicle has Advanced Tow Assist. Also, the customer can manipulate the rear ride height of the Electronic Air Suspension to make it easier to hitch a trailer.

Just let the flaming commence now, but I am going on record that the LR3 is the best used Land Rover option in North America - period. Yep, better than my much loved 1995 Discovery, better than a 2004 Discovery II, better than a 1995 Range Rover Classic. I have owned and driven every possible configuration of Land Rover and have near endless love for the brand, but these new generation trucks are shockingly good. And not only are they capable, they are even (dare I say it) pretty reliable. I was talking with Land Rover Las Vegas about these cars and they told me that warranty claims are down 60% from the Discovery II - sixty percent! I will admit my dislike of these vehicles early on - no solid axles, hybrid frame/unibody construction, more electronics and complexity, etc. However, reality has been a bitter pill for me, and I am changing my tune. The LR3 is a serious contender, but it is still not up to Toyota (or even Mercedes) reliability, so go in with eyes wide open. The South Africans are loving these cars with the TDI V6, as are the Australians. With coil spring conversions now available and a notable worldwide dealer network, I look forward to seeing more of these taking the path less traveled.

The new Evoque is redesigned from the ground up, but you may not be able to tell at first glance. It bears a striking resemblance to the outgoing model in terms of proportions and character lines, and looks very much like the long, sultry Velar released last year that was squished at both ends. That鈥檚 not necessarily a negative, though, as the Evoque鈥檚 design is clean and sleek, with pronounced wheel arches and a sloping character line that gives it a forward-leaning stance. The interior design is a mish-mash of other Range Rover styling elements but is executed beautifully with what is now likely the best cabin in its class. A clean, width-wise dashboard design incorporates a somewhat boxy hood over the gauge cluster that tapers down to a smooth line across the length of the dash. The foremost panel is swathed in contrasting leather and sandwiches two long, sleek vents front and center, resting right above a rounded-off infotainment screen that tilts upright when the Evoque is started.
