Dr. Gizmo's Auto Blabber
Once the motor warms up it runs normally. I replaced the crank sensor because my parts house found 336 in the engine computer. This did not fix the trouble. I also replaced the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. I also cleaned the m.a.f. None of this cured the trouble. I鈥檝e owned the truck since it was new. It鈥檚 my baby and in great condition. It has 196,000 miles on it and none of the parts I installed had ever been replaced in the past except for the spark plugs and filters. What do you think is wrong? When a vehicle crosses the 150,000 mile mark it鈥檚 a good idea to replace parts such as the fuel pump and water pump as a preventive measure. These are parts that will fail. You just don鈥檛 know when. And when they do fail you could be stranded in the middle of nowhere.
In keeping with a longstanding Land Rover tradition, the LR2's cabin is roomy and flexible. The rear seat can comfortably accommodate two adults or three children, and folds flat to expand cargo capacity from 26.5 cubic feet to a maximum 58.9 cubic feet of space. You'll find plenty of Land Rover heritage inside the LR2 as well, but it far surpasses the departed Freelander with respect to design, materials and build quality. Although barely three inches longer than the Freelander, the LR2 gains almost four inches in wheelbase, which leads to a considerably larger cabin with adult-friendly seating space in the front and rear quarters. Both seat-up and seat-down cargo capacities have been increased by over 25 percent, and the rear bay is easily accessed by a large, one-piece rear hatch with a bumper-level cutout. Legible gauges and fairly intuitive positioning of main controls, plus loads of cup and bottle holders, covered and open stow areas and dual 12-volt powerpoints further add to its charm as a daily driver. The multifaceted LR2 bolsters its impressive mechanical roster of all-wheel drive, Roll Stability Control (RSC), Terrain Response System, anti-lock brakes (ABS) and Hill Descent Control/Gradient Release Control with numerous people-pleasing touches.
My first, ill-fated job in the auto world was at an exotic car dealer in metro Detroit. The job itself sucked, but the cars, they were exceptional. Amidst a sea of Tiptronic Porsche Boxsters, first-genMercedes-Benz SLKs and abused second-generation Range Rovers, there were some real gems. In particular, I have fond memories of a trio of undrivable Jaguar E-Types. Two Series II coupes as well as a Series III convertible (that featured a mostly broken roof) spent the entirety of my brief tenure at the dealership in the back of the musty service garage. I'd make side trips through there just to see the trio of E-Types, which rarely failed to put a big, ridiculous grin on my face. Since that time in the summer of 2005, there hasn't been a single Jag that's been capable of eliciting the same goofy smile. Not theXFR-S, with its un-aristocratic wing, nor the XKR-S.
