Land Rover of Chantilly in order to have OEM quality headrest monitors installed as well as a top of the line radar detector. Since this was a new generation for the Range Rover the customer did not just want anyone doing the work, so they brought it to us to ensure it would be done right. First we installed our Vizualogic perfect match headrest monitors. These head rest monitor systems are special ordered to match the vehicles original leather and stitching for a factory look. These systems include two DVD players and two screens, which can play from either DVD player or from an auxiliary plug on the front of the screen. These units also allow the sound from the movie to be played through the radio by means of an FM Modulator or through wireless headphones allowing the front passengers to listen to the radio. Finally we installed an Escort Passport 9500ci radar detector. This is a fully concealed system with dual front laser diffusers, front radar detector, a single rear laser diffuser, and a GPS antennae for locating speed and traffic light cameras. The system also comes with a small display and control module, as well as a cut off switch for quickly powering on or off the system. These units also have a USB adapter plug located above the drivers feet to allow easy updates of new camera and speed trap locations. The Passport 9500ci is a top of the line concealed radar system with unmatched performance for everyday use.
It was 70 years ago that the Rover company introduced the first Land Rover. Land Rover is expected to celebrate the historic run by revealing a redesigned Defender at the end of the year, but there will also be a series of additional events along the way. For example, we learned a week ago that the automaker will bring back to life a rare pre-production 1948 Land Rover long thought to be lost. Now we've learned that Land Rover will also produce a run of 150 Defender V-8 conversions. Known as the Defender Works V8, the vehicle was revealed on Wednesday and is currently available for order, albeit not in the United States since the Defender is no longer officially sold here. Handling the conversion is the Jaguar Land Rover Classic department, which is led by Tim Hannig. 鈥淭he idea of reintroducing a V-8 Defender was something we were discussing as far back as 2014, when we were still building the Defender in Solihull,鈥?Hannig said.
I was not worried about the cosmetic stuff and things like breaks which can be replaced easily, its rust that kills there cars. My idea of checking for rust before buying Larry was to lie under the car with a hammer (well ratchet) whacking everything in sight. I whacked the sills, boot floor, wheel arches, below the driver鈥檚 feet, everywhere. One thing I did not do, which a chap who bought my Nissan Patrol did to Patsy, was to wet my finger by sticking it in the radiator and taste the coolant. I still to this date have no idea why he did this; I can only assume he had a taste for cheap Spanish wine? To be honest after parting with my cash I then spent the next two weeks with loose bowel movements before I got it checked over for rust etc. I FORGOT TO CHECK PREVIOUS MOT FOR ADVISORIES doh! I kept saying to my girlfriend 鈥淚 might have made a mess of this one鈥? She nodded and smiled after all her Smart Car just got sold for this, oh crap!
This redesign kept the German influences. More upscale touches and a still-low price, boosted volume considerably in the US.
