2019 Land Rover Defender Returns In Close-Up Shots
The Land Rover Defender isn't due for public reveal until around September of this year, but the British marque drops its camouflage wraps a bit early into its final testing phase. Albeit, it's still wrapped but with a different livery from the fifth Invictus Games. To jumpstart the 12-month countdown to the fifth Invictus Games, Jaguar Land Rover, the event's official presenting partner, showcases the upcoming revived Defender. Also part of the celebration is the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who's the patron of the Invictus Games Foundation. The Invictus Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women. It's also used to generate a wider understanding of and respect for these handicapped individuals. In a similar tone, Jaguar Land Rover showcases the Defender, a revived nameplate and a symbol of perseverance and determination - a perfect juxtaposition for an almost four-decades-old name. One of Ike's friends from Japan, Chad, and his family graciously welcomed us into their beautiful home. That night we met up with an eclectic group of friends for some sushi and then hit up the local pub next door. Thanks to Chad, Karin, Julia, Andres, and Priscilla for meeting up with us! It was great to catch up. The next day we made our way down to Portland to visit Travis, a friend from high school, and his wife Kristina. We hit up a Chinese restaurant for lunch, then headed downtown to the OMSI: Oregon Museum of Science & Industry. For some reason every family with young kids was at the museum that day, but we braved the museum nonetheless. They had an impressive display about dinosaurs which proceeded to blow our minds with how much paleontology has progressed since we learned about dinos in our elementary school days.
This new tour features the work of the Classic Workshop team who are taking old, but generally structurally sound vehicles from generally dry parts of the world and restoring them to the state that they would have left the factory. Well that's the sales pitch from JLR, and from the comments and attitude of the couple of people we were able to speak to on the line it really seemed that they were living this attitude not just saying it. 4. Original paint colours for the specific vehicle are being researched from the records and matched. They have created a homage vehicle for the First Overland vehicles. I had to check the number plate from the book when I got home but when you look it is part one set of colours and part another, with accessories in G4 orange. At the end we were privileged to meet up with Mike Bishop who runs this section for JLR and was instrumental in its founding and success.
Quite a few of our salvage parts are available online. To locate them use the 鈥淧arts Finder鈥?or 鈥淧arts Catalog鈥?to the left (look for the term 鈥淨uality Used Part鈥?on the part's page), or you can search the entire site (just include the term 鈥渦sed鈥?. Our Salvage inventory fluctuates on a daily basis. Completing automotive repairs with used or salvage parts makes a lot of sense if minimizing the cost on a repair bill is the only concern. Although we sell a lot of high-quality used Jaguar parts and used Land Rover parts, we advise customers to carefully consider all options before deciding on installing a used part. Substituting a high-quality used part is more often than not an acceptable choice, but that is not to say that it is always the best option. Keep in mind that each repair on any given vehicle often presents a unique situation, so before buying used, make sure you understand the repair and part(s) involved but also our salvage & used parts policy.
