I Thought I Had More In It?

I Thought I Had More In It?

The next morning we all packed up and headed out, stopping for pictures and video over the falls. Eventually stopping at Ignotus where I could drive again. As we exited from Ballerat there was a Range Rover coming in who I stopped to talk to. He had just bought it used and was going to do the Pleasant Canyon Loop. So I told him it was closed at Chicken Rock. At the pavement we said goodbyes and and aired up. I followed PVKD to Ridgecrest and Brett headed for Butte Valley via Goler Wash. I caught up with Paul in town at a auto parts store but he had no luck there. We went to another store and a salvage yard. With the same results. I decided to part ways and got some lunch and headed home. A long drive back I arrived home around 2200 tired and ready for a real bed, but I missed being at the springs for New Years and with my Rover friends! Today, I pulled apart my freewheeling hubs and put Ignotus up on jackstands. It appears that one of the hubs was frozen and would not engage. There was no metal chips in my diff oil. I drove it around my neighborhood in 4 low and there was no popping noises. So it may be good now.

The original Mazda Miata is one of the best driver's cars of all time -- and new ones have been amazing too. But there's something alluring about the first one, the "NA" Miata, that makes it special. It's the origin of the species that inspired many, many more wonderful, inexpensive and lightweight roadsters. Early Miata models are getting hard to find in nice shape, but this 1990 Miata is exactly that. It's a first-generation Miata from the very first year, and it's traveled just 12,800 miles from new. Although the ad doesn't include any interior photos, the exterior photos show a beautifully preserved car in perhaps its best color, bright red, with no noticeable flaws. Of course, a low-mileage early Miata in excellent original condition is an increasingly rare car -- and prices are starting to reflect that. 10,000 just a few years ago. But desirable cars tend to gain in value, and this is certainly one of them.

Hit it, and the CVT understands you mean business as you pass another car or just want more responsiveness. Despite the fully loaded car that Nissan will probably splash over its ads, the 2019 Altima poses its biggest threat in lower trims. 24,645 2019 Altima 2.5 S offers a killer set of features. As a commuter car with EPA-estimated 28/39 mpg city/highway for most front-drive trims, the 2019 Altima is a decent budget-friendly option with a long highway driving range. Expect much more, however, and that rock-solid value crumbles a bit. Two of the three Altimas we drove had steering that felt imprecise, with a vague on-center feel. The SR model performed slightly better, which makes sense considering that volume trim is designed to not just look sporty, but feel sporty, too, with retuned steering and suspension. At least the ride on 17-inch wheels and 215/55R all-season tires is cushy, though we can鈥檛 say the same about a loaded model we drove with 19s and 235/40R all-season tires. The Altima looks great on 19-inch wheels, but the highway ride of Platinum and Edition One cars could be a little more comfortable.

What if I told you that you could use potato peelings to cover up grey hair, clean the fireplace, make alcohol, and much more? You won't believe the amazing ways that avocado seeds can be used. My mother in law first showed me this traditional way to use up pineapple skins. It's really easy, and is good for you, too! Pineapples contain high amounts of bromelain which have amazing health benefits. To make your tea, combine the skin, core and any other scraps of one pineapple in a container that has a lid. A small pot or large glass jar is ideal. Cover the pineapple scraps with water, and leave out in the sun for several hours until the water turns yellow. Strain the tea, chill completely and drink sweetened or as is. Don't have any sun? Pot pourri is surprisingly easy to make at home, but most people associate it with dried flowers and leaves.

Always make sure you give credit to whoever came up with the best idea. Don't try to pretend to your boss or anyone else that it was your idea. Acknowledge these people in meetings and encourage the entire group to start thinking about how to be more profitable, provide better service, be more efficient or improve the working atmosphere. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the results. If you want to save yourself time, help build your business for the future and impress the executives you need to have successors. What is a successor? They are the people that you and your management team identify as having potential to advance in the organization but to be successful it goes a lot further than just identifying them. As a manager one of your most important responsibilities is to be able to grow your people. You will stand out from the other managers when you are able to provide qualified people for available positions within the organization. To be truly successful at it you must be able to give your star performers away with no adverse affects on your department.
