Planning And Hosting A Mystery Dinner With Menu
Dinner can be Fun! Mystery Dinners are probably the most rewarding type of meal that any person can plan. My motto is 鈥楾he more the merrier鈥? this works well if you are having a lot of people for dinner. Having been the head of an organization for a short time, I wanted to reward my helpers with a fun night out. To this day it is still talked about and referred to as the most fun anyone has ever had at a dinner. Let me explain what a Mystery Dinner is. It is a dinner that should have no less than 6 people (for the maximum amount of fun). The guests have no idea what they are going to eat, they are presented with a menu from which they have to 鈥榩lace鈥?their orders. A good menu should have no less than 4 courses, 5 is a good round number. It is also fun if you should include in your menu the ordering of utensils. Plates and bowls are a given, you need something to serve the food on.
A modern Land Rover is really about top-level technologies for off-road capability. Tech over old-school solid-axles, big, aggressive tires, and driver skills has been Land Rover鈥檚 direction for decades now. The Terrain Response system in modern Land Rovers is impressive. But the new Defender takes it to new levels of capability and driver-selectable customization. The new Defender utilizes a whopping 85 ECUs. That鈥檚 a lot of computing power! The camera systems on the new Defender will also provide more real-time driver terrain information than ever before. Not only is there ClearSight Ground View that lets you basically see through the hood of the vehicle, but there is also a 360-degree aerial view that lets you see all around the vehicle. To top it off, there鈥檚 a rearview camera that can be displayed in the rearview mirror. This is perfect for those times when the back is full of adventure sports gear or friends.
The most important feature of the new PTA platform is its ability to house various hybrid configurations without intruding on the improved interior space of the new Evoque. At launch we'll get the MHEV option, which uses an underfloor battery pack connected to a belt-driven motor-generator on the side of the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. This configuration enables far smoother integration of start-stop technology, electric torque boost and torque fill to flesh out the turbocharged engine's power delivery and bestow significant fuel saving benefits. For example, when coasting up to a stoplight the gasoline motor cuts out far earlier - now at 11mph - to contribute to a 6-percent improvement in fuel consumption. Meanwhile the all-wheel drive chassis features Driveline Disconnect to run in front-wheel drive only and reduce transmission losses when you don't need four-wheel drive. In this instance - and unlike the MHEV version - there is no physical connection between the front and rear axles, the power pack taking the place of the propshaft and other mechanical hardware under the vehicle's floor. But, again, with no compromise or intrusion on interior space, given the PTA has been designed from the start to accommodate.
Despite increasing rumours, Volvo is not for sale, according to senior Ford sources. Instead the company has decided to turn around the fortunes of its loss-making Swedish subsidiary, rather than allow it to be sold to a Russian or Chinese bidder. Ford鈥檚 senior management wants to boost Volvo鈥檚 annual sales from 420,000 to well over 600,000 units. Ford is said to be unimpressed that Volvo has stumbled with a product strategy, which has seen sales of most of its models falling in recent months. One source suggested that Volvo was too small to properly compete with premium makers such as BMW and Mercedes and it would be better to play to its traditional strengths by competing with 鈥榩remium mainstream鈥?brands such as VW. Insiders say that Volvo鈥檚 future model plans will be completely re-worked. A whole new forward strategy - with plans for less expensive models that sell in larger volumes - could be rubber-stamped as early as the new year. In future, Ford strategists are likely to insist that Volvo鈥檚 future models are more closely aligned with Ford products.
