There are five seat, seven seat and commerciaw van versions in de UK, Irewand and oder European markets. The design of de dird-generation Discovery was previewed by de Discovery Vision Concept at de 2014 New York Auto Show. In profiwe, de exterior design is awso very simiwar to de smaww Discovery Sport modew. In contrast to previous Discovery modews, de dird-generation has a much more rounded shape, eschewing de traditionaw anguwar design, uh-hah-hah-hah. The taiw wights have changed from a verticaw orientation to horizontaw, and de dird-row side gwass no wonger bwends into de roof gwass. The taiwgate is no wonger horizontawwy spwit and has been repwaced wif a conventionaw top hinged taiwgate made from composite. The roof is stiww stepped over de dird row, dough it is now wargewy cosmetic in comparison to de previous modews and de roof now has a strong taper to de back. The interior cwosewy fowwows dat from oder contemporary Land Rover modews, whiwe continuing de 3-row tradition of de Discovery. The new Discovery 5 incorporates severaw changes over its predecessors.
1979-newer T18s used a three-fork shift cover assembly that shifts reverse gear directly. Earlier versions of the T-18 go into reverse by shifting to the right then up. Later versions shift to the right and down the same as a series gearbox. Parts are easiest to find and cheapest for the Ford versions of the T18. There are 12 versions of the Jeep T-18 transmission, most of which are close ratio gearboxes. Several parts for the close ratio Jeep T-18s are no longer available. The Jeep T18 is usually a direct bolt up to the Dana 18 transfer case There are adapters available to fit Chevy engines to the Jeep T18. International harvester only used the close ratio version of the T-18. Engine & transfer case adaptors can be hard to come by. The T18 gearbox has a cast iron housing and top plate . The PTO side plate is on the right side.
Sid however, went and pointed at some carcasses hanging down from the wall. He bought the smaller one. We still till this day cannot be 100% sure what Sid bought in Tata, we know it was not cat because it was to big. It could have been Dog that could have made us rough. So we decided it was either Goat or Sheep. So it was then called Geep, which seemed like a fair compromise. We got lost a bit as soon as we tried to find the mining track because the locals had moved the entrance to the track to Bou-Zarif again. Or we were just no good at working the route out. I think it was the former here due to the hastily made up signs. The scenery was amazing as soon as we hit the mountains it was fantastic. We spent hours travelling around so lovely mountain trails and then onto some more difficult terrain, we got lost about 3 times but we all absolutely loved the driving, some of which was quite technical.
