Review: 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HSE

Diesel variants were sold in Europe, but North American models were powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder gas engine (240 hp / 251 lb-ft.) paired with a 6-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. During its lifespan the first-gen Evoque sold well. It surpassed 125,000 units in 2014, which at the time accounted for more than one third of Land Rover鈥檚 global sales. By the time production ended in 2018, more than 772,000 had been sold worldwide. Big shoes for the second-gen model to fill, indeed. The production model was revealed last November in London and went on sale earlier this year. From a size standpoint, the L551鈥檚 footprint is almost identical to that of its predecessor, yet it has more room thanks to a longer wheelbase that yields an extra 21 mm of rear seat knee room. The new Evoque also has a larger glove box and centre console storage area, along with six percent more luggage space (610 litres).

It has something to do with the way the on-board computers operate. A weak MAF signal should not set a incorrect gear ration code, but it鈥檚 a very good thing to take note of in case you ever run into something like this again. Another good way to monitor this weak MAF signal is through the short term fuel trim. The signal are pretty much in correlation with each other. Fuel trim is a very important data value to monitor and understand when diagnosing automotive drivability problems. For example take a look at the before and after pictures of the fuel trim graph display above. If you work on these problem enough it鈥檚 a good idea to snapshot these type of value displays for quick reference later on. When you do eventually run into a similar problem it will save a lot of time, but the key word is quick reference.

Jack patiently described the major attractions of Hunan and invited me to not only deliver lecture but also taste Hunan specialties. I thought about refusing but there was something in his way of talking, his sincere smile, helping feeling, and above all his utmost trust in me. I therefore didn鈥檛 think much, and accepted his invitation. Jack sent me an expensive laptop to modify my lecture as per the needs of his audience. Jack left me a confirmed air ticket from Zhuhai to Changsha and flew to Hunan province the next morning. God, that blind trust, that pure sincerity and feeling of care, I have never felt anywhere in this world. He knew nothing about me except that I was just a foreign teacher somewhere in Gansu province. He simply trusted me just like he鈥檇 trust his little brother. Jack, a man from Zhuzhou city, Hunan province left a deep impression of trust, friendship and love of Chinese people to me. Time flew, and there I was, shaking hands with Jack at Changsha airport. We drove to Times Group in Zhuzhou, and we had this wonderful seven hours cultural seminar.

BMW sales were up 5.2% in 2016, slightly down on global premium sales growth. Arch rival Mercedes Benz is on the offensive as are other competitors such as Jaguar / Land Rover. It is a lucrative area to be operating in and it will remain so. However, you would have to think that profit margins will ultimately be affected in that sector as the battle heats up. In 2006, SUVs accounted for 16% of all BMW brand sales, in 2016 32%. In the same period, the 3-Series went from 43% to just over 20% of the total. The shift towards the SUV means a strong range of such vehicles is a must. Jaguar's belated entry into that genre shows the importance of such vehicles to even premium marques today. The i vehicles (3 & 8) have now been grouped together and account for 1.5% of sales. The Z sports car had 2.6% of BMW sales in 2006, but now just 0.3% as it gets phased out of production. Apparently they will do a joint model with Toyota for its replacement. Data source: BMW Group.
