Ford makes a rubber boot that goes over the distributor cap and does a great job of protecting the distributor from splash. The stock Chevy oil filter location is better placed for use in a series Land Rover. It faces down at the left rear of the engine for very easy access. The small block Ford oil filter sticks out the left side at frame level on a Rover. The frame prevents removal of a standard Ford oil filter. Ford offers a 90 degree oil filter adaptor that puts the filter alongside the engine instead of sticking straight out. This actually puts the filter in a more protected area than the Chevy filter. Also the shorter Dodge 318 oil filter fits and works OK on a small block Ford and can easily be replaced. The oil pan must have it's deep part in the rear for maximum front axle clearance.

A deviation should be reported if a trend is noticed that requires further investigation. All batch production deviations (planned or unintended) covering all manufacturing facilities, equipments, operations, distribution, procedures, systems and record keeping must be reported and investigated for corrective and preventative action. Reporting deviation is required regardless of final batch disposition. If a batch is rejected a deviation reporting is still required. For the ease of assessing risk any deviation can be classified into one of the three levels 1, 2 & 3 based on the magnitude and seriousness of a deviation. The department Manager or delegate should initiate the deviation report by using a standard deviation form as soon as a deviation is found. Write a short description of the fact with a title in the table on the form and notify the Quality Assurance department within one business day to identify the investigation. QA has to evaluate the deviation and assess the potential impact to the product quality, validation and regulatory requirement.

The Apollo program was conceived early in 1960, during the Eisenhower administration, as a follow-up to America's Mercury program. While the Mercury capsule could only support one astronaut on a limited earth orbital mission, the Apollo spacecraft was to be able to carry three astronauts on a circumlunar flight and eventually to a lunar landing. While NASA went ahead with planning for Apollo, funding for the program was far from certain given Eisenhower's ambivalent attitude to manned spaceflight. In November 1960, John F. Kennedy was elected president after a campaign that promised American superiority over the Soviet Union in the fields of space exploration and missile defense. Using space exploration as a symbol of national prestige, he warned of a "missile gap" between the two nations, pledging to make the U.S. Despite Kennedy's rhetoric, he did not immediately come to a decision on the status of the Apollo program once he became president. He knew little about the technical details of the space program, and was put off by the massive financial commitment required by a manned Moon landing.
