Land Rover Range Rover

Land Rover Range Rover

The Supercharged gets a 400-hp, 4.2-liter V8. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both also feature permanent four-wheel-drive with a two-speed transfer case and electronic Torsen center differential, all-terrain traction and stability control, Hill Descent Control and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and now Land Rover's Terrain Response technology. The Supercharged comes with everything in the Luxury Interior Package, plus 20-inch bright-finish aluminum wheels and the locking rear differential. Brakes are upgraded with Brembo calipers in front and vented discs all 'round, in place of the HSE's vented/solid setup. In addition to the HSE's paint and interior choices, two monochromatic interior pallets and an exclusive Grand Black Lacquer wood trim are offered, as are the entertainment package. Brake and accelerator pedals are stainless steel with rubberized inserts. Safety equipment on all Range Rovers is comprehensive. Nine airbags come standard: front, side, and head airbags for driver and front-seat passenger, as well as head and seat-mounted side airbags for rear outboard passengers, and a special airbag designed to protect the driver's knees. That's in addition to the many active safety features. Also standard are front and rear park distance control and a rearview color television camera, both extremely helpful when backing up, and tire pressure monitors. Security is also a high priority, which means deadlocks and an ultrasonic alarm system. A panic button activates locks for extra security against attacks.

It requires multiple steps to adjust most settings, and the screen responds slowly to inputs at times. No matter what you want from a powertrain, the Range Rover offers it. There are several engine choices, ranging from the 340-horsepower supercharged V6 base engine to a 557-horsepower supercharged V8. There are also diesel and plug-in hybrid options. Performance-wise, you can't go wrong. All feel energetic and provide quick acceleration, though the V8s are the unquestioned stars in this regard. The Range Rover gets better fuel economy than most competitors, earning 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway with its base engine (according to Land Rover). The diesel-powered model currently gets the best ratings in the lineup, earning 22/28 mpg city/highway. Fuel economy estimates for the PHEV are not currently available, though Land Rover claims it has a maximum all-electric range of 31 miles. The Range Rover feels stable and composed on winding roads, and it's more agile than many of its classmates. It's also easy to maneuver in cramped areas, which cannot be said about many large SUVs.

Any car whose interior could be spruced up with nothing more sophisticated than a well-aimed hosepipe can hardly be described as chic. Step into the latest car and you鈥檒l be amazed at what the designers at Land Rover鈥檚 Gaydon studio have conceived. Winners of a three-way design battle with BMW鈥檚 Munich and California styling houses, the homegrown touch has certainly paid dividends. This is a car whose interior ambience is closer to an Aston Martin than anything else, with wood trim that鈥檚 tastefully integrated, lustrous pleated leather seats and intelligent use of aluminium and chrome finishing on the dashboard. The effect is tasteful, restrained and isn鈥檛 going to date as quickly as a more extreme design. Some of the minor controls are obviously BMW-sourced but then that鈥檚 no bad thing. Despite the Germanic provenance, the exterior styling is unmistakably Range Rover. In fact, when viewed from the side, only the twin gills mounted behind the front wheel arch immediately give the game away to the casual observer.

Will definitely do business again and highly recommend do business here. If you're considering purchasing a new vehicle from here don't walk rather RUN in the opposite direction. Bought a Discovery Sport SUV here in May and it has been riddled with problems. In less than 2 months I have had to have the brake pads changed, rotors replaced, a constant SOS limited functionality warning light that continued to return after having it "repaired" multiple times. I've never heard of a vehicle with less than 2,000 miles have so many issues. Trust what you read in the forums. Very cheaply made unreliable vehicles. There is nothing luxurious about this brand. Received little to no support from the salesperson that sold me the vehicle. I bought a lemon! Vehicle was at the dealership being repaired July 16-19th, AGAIN July 22-25th, AGAIN July 25-29th, AGAIN July 29th-Aug 6th. Absolute garbage! This review is strictly for the service department.

This becomes clear when you take a close look at it for the first time. Yes, the block-like profile and the stand-up lines have been carried over. There are a whole load of details that link the two visually. The short front and rear overhangs, the flat panels and glass area, the squared-off wheel arches with the 鈥榬ounded鈥?shoulders and the distinctive 鈥榟ips鈥?with the individual tail-lamps stacked vertically. And look closely and you can see the rising roofline, the slot-like 鈥楢lpine鈥?skylight above the rear windows, and also all sorts of accessories, like the roof-top tents and side ladders. But while the design appears to be simple it is also extremely sophisticated. Potentially, the most divisive aspect of the new Defender鈥檚 styling is the nose. Unlike the rest of the design, the nose carries very few classic Defender clues. Yes, it is impossibly tough-looking head-on, and very clearly a Land Rover, but it is also missing the prominent 鈥榁鈥? shaped bonnet or the pontoons on either side, and then the grille and headlights are not recessed either.
