I thought I would never own a white vehicle, but boy was I wrong. I saw this LR2 HSE and instantly fell in love with it. Then I took it for the test drive and couldn't believe how comfortable it is and how it handled, more like a car than an SUV. The size is perfect, not too big and not to small. The A/C is cold before you have your sunglasses on and in Arizona that's extremely important. The Sound System is fabulous! I would sit in it to listen to new music just for the pure enjoyment of it. Yeah, I would definitely do all I could before dropping 6k in repairs on a fairly new vehicle. I'm confused though. I don't know how leaking valve guides can cause oil to leak outside the car. If the valve guides are leaking then oil should be getting inside the combustion chamber and burnt. If the oil is leaking outside the car, I think you probably have some other type of leak, hopefully one much cheaper to fix. I'm glad you have a friend with a shop because it sounds like there's something fishy going on. I hope you can get to the bottom of it. I went to bmw service to change oil as usual and they just told me there were no oil at all in the tank. After I noticed it, I've checked the ground where my car was parked, and I found lots of oil leaking. That was just too much. I don't think it leaks into cylinder and burned since I don't see the blue smoke from exhaust and don't smell something burning.
