The average number of times the vehicle is brought into the shop for unscheduled repairs and maintenance in a single year. This metric is calculated by tracking millions of unique vehicles over multiple years to determine an average number of visits per year for each make and model. Controls were included to omit small routine visits to shops such as for oil changes. The severity component to reliability measures the probability that a repair will be a major issue. An issue is considered severe if a repair costs three-times the average annual repair cost for all models, an amount deemed prohibitively expensive given the unscheduled nature of the repair. This threshold is higher for premium and luxury brands, which have higher labor rates and parts costs. The probability of a repair being a severe or major issue is 11% for the Land Rover LR2, compared to an average of 10% for luxury compact SUVs and 12% for all vehicle models.





Doug Gaffka, Ford SVT chief designer, and his team worked closely with Carroll Shelby and the Shelby team to make certain the new KR was crafted in the spirit of the original Shelby muscle car. Gary Davis, vice president of production and product development for Shelby Automobiles, played a key role in defining the look of the custom designed carbon composite hood for the GT500KR. His knowledge of the original GT500KR helped sculpt a modern interpretation of the original's bulging hood scoop, a visual indication of the extra horsepower packed beneath it. The hood is secured by a pair of stainless steel, twist-down hood pins. The composite front valance houses a pair of chrome-trimmed, functional brake ducts to cool the large 14-inch, vented Brembo front brakes. The show car wears exclusive, Shelby-designed 20-inch, forged, polished aluminum wheels with special custom center caps, mounted on Pirelli rubber. Production models will arrive with an 18-inch version of the design.





The base LR2 comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear foglights, rain-sensing wipers, heated mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass, rear parking sensors and keyless entry and ignition. The HSE adds xenon headlights, a rearview camera and driver memory settings. Going with the HSE Lux gets you upgraded leather upholstery, additional power adjustments for the front seats (eight-way driver, six-way passenger) and a 17-speaker Meridian surround-sound audio system. Offered on all three trims is the Climate Comfort package, which adds a heated windshield, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Stand-alone options across the board include 19-inch alloy wheels, a voice-controlled navigation system and satellite/HD radio. The HSE Lux's 17-speaker audio system is optional on the base and HSE trims. The base and HSE can also be had with either the Silver Pack or the Black Pack for 2015. Each includes special 19-inch alloy wheels, the navigation system and unique exterior and interior trim details.
