Land Rover's smallest Range Rover, the Evoque, turns heads with its daring exterior styling and has proved such a hit that it spurred other products throughout the lineup to take on a similar look. Although the Evoque was introduced in 2010, it still manages to look fresh and modern, luring moneyed buyers in upscale neighborhoods throughout North America. Its interior is similarly posh, at least for front-seat occupants, and can be optioned heavily to include luxury items such as massaging seats. It doesn't boast the same off-road capability as its larger stablemates nor is it as refined on-road, but it's much easier to pilot through tight city streets than its bigger Rover brothers. What's New for 2019? Land Rover isn't changing much on its junior model this year. We'd go with the Landmark model鈥攚hich looks great with its sportier exterior styling featuring glossy gray accents. Opting for the Landmark trim also brings navigation, a panoramic glass roof, and a power-operated rear liftgate with hands-free gesture operation.
You do not need to stay on top in the Sport as other Land Rover products, but that鈥檚 by design; this is a marathon, remember, so snug, feel cockpit-like desirable result. Happily, the visibility is good, plenty of glass all around. The standard 8-inch screen seems a bit dated compared to other competitor, and simple graphics and occasionally slow response times. On the other hand, it鈥檚 pretty easy to use. A nice program for 2015 Control Apps, which includes Apple and Android smartphones in such a way that certain applications see the same screen as they do on your device. Seat comfort is good before, and sport seats in the SVR鈥檚 take lateral support to a new level. The rear outboard seats are fully adult-friendly, although position of center, as always, is only suitable for small occupants. As for the third row, Land Rover says that specifically designed for children, and they鈥檙e not kidding - it鈥檚 a pretty tight back there. But its standard power-feature is great, allowing you to fold the seats flat or raise them at the touch of a button.
