All Land Rover owners are invited to drive into Beaulieu on Sunday 12th July and park up within the museum complex for what promises to be a superb day out for both Land Rover owners and enthusiasts. All models are welcome at this Simply Land Rover show, which is set to provide a great opportunity to admire some stunning vehicles and to connect with fellow enthusiasts. All participants have the opportunity to be chosen as the winner of the People鈥檚 Choice Award, selected by public vote. Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runners-up. The People鈥檚 Choice Award ceremony will take place at 2pm. Anyone wishing to be in with a chance of winning will need to remain on site until the awards ceremony has taken place. According to the EPA, the 2015 LR2 gets 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, which is poor for the class. The all-wheel-drive 2015 BMW X3 gets better fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway from its 240-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 2015 Land Rover LR2 seats five and comes with power-adjustable front seats and leather upholstery. Available features include upgraded leather, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The front seats are roomy and comfortable, but some might feel they are mounted too high. The rear seats are slightly raised, which can make them uncomfortable. Taller rear-seat passengers could use more legroom. The LR2 has complete sets of LATCH child-seat connectors in the outboard rear seats. Standard features in the 2015 Land Rover LR2 include a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, an 11-speaker Meridian audio system, a USB port, alloy wheels, and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen.
This is just the start though. Range Rover also confirmed there will also be a full plug-in hybrid option to follow. The extended, 105.6-inch wheelbase is identical to that of the Jaguar E-Pace and the new Evoque also gains a version of that car's Integral Link rear suspension. But Land Rover engineers insist this is an all-new foundation and not a further evolution of the D8 platform that can trace its ancestry all the way back to the Ford era. Whatever the truth of the matter, it's clear the new Evoque platform gains significant innovation, including greater use of high-strength steel as well as targeted use of aluminum to save weight where possible. Front suspension towers are one example, their bonded and riveted integration into the steel structure inspired by similar production techniques on 'senior' Range Rover products.
