The Grand Range Rover Conspiracy

The Grand Range Rover Conspiracy

There's a Range Rover parked opposite my house. I don't need a Range Rover. I don't go out of my way to drive up dirt tracks. I don't have any children that need dropping off at school. I don't even have a pair of dogs that want to go for lovely countryside walks. And yet still it sits there, silent, accusing. I could make time to go on off-road adventures, it seems to say. I could conquer any terrain I pleased if I were behind the wheel of a Range Rover. I could get a couple of canines and whisk them anywhere I wanted. Even shutting the curtains doesn't help, because I know it's still there. And when it isn't there, it's still in my mind's eye. Why, Land Rover, why would you do this to me? Is there some conspiracy to induce consumption of Range Rovers, a nationwide secret society spending all day parking in streets up and down the country just to make people covet their wares?

These include rules like subject-verb agreement. She plays with the dog, not She play with dog. Soft grammar rules are those that can be broken without being incorrect. These rules have recommendations, exceptions, and ideals that can make language clearer and more understandable, however, not following them does not cause a language breakdown. The most over-flagged grammar "error" in Microsoft Word is the use of "passive voice" which is said by some to be less powerful and direct than active voice. However, every grammar manual in the existence from The Chicago Manual of Style, to the Associated Press Stylebook, to Stunk and White, all allow that passive voice not only can be used, but is actually preferable in some instances. Microsoft Office comes with a grammar checker. It was Microsoft's addition to the feature wars between MS Word and WordPerfect after WordPerfect added the much more useful spell check to its product.

Front-row occupants can choose from a pair of 12V power supplies and a USB socket located behind the central touchscreen - perfectly located to minimise trailing wires when used to power a dashcam. In the second row, occupants have two USBs and a pair of 12V charging points when specified with a centre console and when third-row seats are fitted, an additional two USB outlets. The loadspace also includes an additional 12-volt socket while a three-pin 230V domestic socket is also available. Thoughtful touches include the availability of USB sockets on the front seatbacks, specifically positioned to allow second-row occupants to charge devices while using the optional Click and Go tablet holders. State-of-the-art keyless technology brings added cyber security and convenience with advanced Ultra Wide Band (UWB) transceivers preventing thefts from copycat devices. Jaguar Land Rover was the first vehicle manufacturer to introduce the pioneering keyless entry system and new Defender uses the innovative set-up to resist relay attack and meet the world's toughest security standards. The second-generation Activity Key can be specified in addition to the pair of standard fobs for heightened convenience. The water resistant (4 ATM) and shock-proof wearable device now incorporates an LCD watch.

These spy shots give away a few clues. First, check out that fuel door. It鈥檚 massive compared to the current design and likely indicates big changes underneath. Speculation is running ramped that the 2020 Disco Sport will have an entirely new architecture, meaning things like the fuel filler neck don鈥檛 exactly line up with the current body. If true, that means this test mule could be running the new chassis with the current body shell bolted on to fool onlookers. The second clue is the exhaust. A look up its skirt reveals a single muffler with dual tips at the vehicle鈥檚 left-hand side. The current SUV features a single exhaust tip at each end of the bumper. Then again, these changes could indicate updates to the powertrain. Currently, the Discovery Sport鈥檚 diesel exhaust fluid reservoir tank is located under the hood and requires a special DEF bottle to refill. Land Rover could be relocating this filler neck to under the fuel door.
