Land Rover Discovery (2019)

Land Rover Discovery (2019)

Land Rover's design and engineering teams have produced a seven-seat interior that provides improved space and versatility by careful analysis and optimisation of every aspect of its design. Strong vertical elements clearly define the uncluttered central console design as they intersect the crossbeam of the facia, with minimal switchgear providing intuitive controls and reduced distractions for the driver. Configurable ambient lighting and the availability of contrast stitching give a luxurious, crafted feel to the entire cabin. A wide choice of authentic material finishes are available throughout, from premium Windsor leather to Natural Shadow Oak veneer and the interior is available in a choice of five colourways, from Ebony and Acorn to Nimbus, Vintage Tan and Glacier. These high quality materials combine with the clever use of technology to deliver New Discovery's unique blend of design excellence and engineering integrity. This is best expressed by Land Rover's unique Intelligent Seat Fold function. The clever system allows owners to reconfigure the second and third row seats using switches just inside the tailgate, the C-pillar, the infotainment touchscreen or even remotely using a smartphone. Land Rover's designers and engineers have used every spare millimetre of space to provide additional stowage throughout the interior.

Like the standard-wheelbase models, this power is all managed through a buttery-smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, and the same four-wheel drive and off-road capability is there. This powertrain still makes for a bloody quick Range Rover, especially considering its size and heft - the longer model adds some 287 pounds to the overall curb weight, tipping the scales at a healthy 5,137 pounds. That's a lot of weight, but it's still less than standard-wheelbase rivals (the Lexus LX 570 weighs a galling 6,000 pounds), and it remains a significant decrease from the outgoing model thanks to its new aluminum-intensive construction. And with that 5.0-liter supercharged heart pumping out the power, Land Rover estimates that its largest Range Rover will still sprint to 60 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds. Should you venture off road, the LWB Range Rover is nearly every bit as capable as its more compact (ha!) sister. All of the excellent off-road terrain management settings are there, and approach and departure angles haven't changed in stretching the wheelbase. The breakover angle has decreased slightly, however - 18.4 to 26.1 degrees (normal vs.

71Outrage, kernmw10 and Rootpass like this. Unfortunately that's not one of their better time periods for reliability. The mechanicals on the LR3 are great.. The 4.6 V8 is very reliable as is the 4.0. You give up power with the 4.0 but it's a ford 4.0 in the Explorer so you can save money on parts. I really liked my V8. The tranny, transfer case and axles are very strong/overbuilt. The CV axles can go bad after tearing the boot/ignoring noises. The air compressor should be refreshed with seals.. Very easy DIY job and the most common failure point. 400 though. The air springs are a non issue. They sell a IIDtool that controls everything and made specific for this vehicle. You can lift it, change all the "dealer" settings, get updates for nav, etc(a must have). If you can find a Land Cruiser with front and read diff lock for the same or less than a LR3 and only want it as a "trail rig" then go for it.
