Unlike the original, the second-generation SUV was only available as a four-door. The third-generation Range Rover, which was produced from 2002 to 2012, was developed when Land Rover was still under BMW ownership. After missing from its line-up for almost three years, Land Rover unveiled the new 2020 Defender a few weeks back. Slated as a 2020 model, the new defender will arrive in two versions that have been thoughtfully designed to fit a range of purposes. The Defender has been a renowned model in the company鈥檚 lineup with boiling popularity for its performance off-road. Underpinning the new Defender is Land Rover鈥檚 new D7X platform. The fact that it is a monocoque chassis can give way to numerous questions. However, Land Rover claims that the new one is the stiffest chassis that they have ever designed. For the ones who are still not convinced, the company also stated that the D7X is, in fact, three times stiffer than its body-on-ladder frame. I regret ever buying this vehicle. Goes to show that if my husband and I ever purchased a brand new Range Rover in the future, things start to stop working after 8 years. 100K to buy brand new I would hope I could use it for more than 8 years. I don't want anyone to ever experience this frustration I am going through, as this is making my life miserable when all I want is to enjoy this Range Rover. Lame lame lame. When I refused, and put the deal on hold, they called back and offered a much sweetened deal, and I verbally agreed to a price over the phone. The new breed of supercar developed by Jaguar will be powered by one of the biggest V8 engines in the world. The five-litre supercharged V8 will make its debut in the sensational XFR - a high performance version of the saloon which has transformed Jaguar's fortunes. It had a blockbuster premiere at the North American Auto Show in Detroit yesterday alongside new versions of the XKR coupe and convertible also powered by the monster engine. He said the new engine underlined the 'unique, independent spirit' which now defined the Jaguar brand. Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll said that Jaguar Land Rover's massive investment in R&D was now paying off. He said: 'Together with Land Rover, Jaguar invests more than pounds 400million on research and development. At a corporate level, we've committed more than pounds 800million specifically to the research and development of new environmental technologies. He added that Jaguar was now spending more developing advanced automotive technology than any other company in Britain.
