The 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport Adds Style And A Hybrid Model

UPDATE 6/7/2019: Land Rover incorrectly announced the initial combined horsepower rating for the Discovery Sport's hybrid powertrain, which actually makes 286 hp versus the 296 hp we first reported. This story has been updated to address that correction. For 2020, the Land Rover Discovery Sport offers an optional 48-volt hybrid system. The downsized Disco receives updated exterior and interior styling that better mimics its bigger brother, the Land Rover Discovery. Other interesting new features are massaging front seats, wireless charging, optional 21-inch wheels, and the use of sustainable interior materials. In addition to the newly standard 246-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, the Discovery Sport is now available with a hybrid powertrain. The setup includes a 48-volt hybrid system that operates as a belt-driven motor generation, as seen on the 2020 Range Rover Evoque. It combines with the standard turbocharged four-cylinder for a total output of 286 horsepower. The company says that the gasoline engine shuts off at speeds under 11 mph and that energy in the underfloor battery pack is stored during deceleration and redeployed during acceleration. The 2020 Disco Sport continues Land Rover's longstanding tradition of off-road capability.

Paired with Adaptive Dynamics, which provides continuously variable suspension damping, the technology endows the Range Rover with an uncannily smooth ride3. Acoustic-laminated windshield and side door glass help make the Range Rover exceptionally quiet. Coupled with the versatile full-time 4WD system with dual-range transfer case, fully automatic Terrain Response 2 analyzes road conditions and automatically selects the most effective vehicle settings for the 4WD, stability and traction control and other parameters3. The Range Rover offers a maximum water wading depth of 35.4-inches, a 7.8-inch increase over the previous-generation model3. Legroom in the Range Rover rear seat extends to nearly 40-inches, a 4.7-inch increase over the older model. An Individualized Rear Seating package provides the ultimate in rear seat luxury, rivaling the world's finest luxury sedans. The Range Rover exclusive offers high-end surround-sound audio systems from the renowned British audiophile brand, Meridian. Planned for a mid-year introduction, the Range Rover will offer Enhanced Parking Aids to bolster the already-available Parallel Park feature3. New optional Lane Departure will use a forward-looking camera to monitor the vehicle's position between lane markings3. The Lane Departure Warning system provides haptic feedback through the steering wheel should the driver begin to move out of lane without using a turn signal. The same camera is used for the Traffic Sign Recognition system, which identifies speed limit signs and a variety of other warning and information signs3. 1 All figures are EPA estimates. Actual mileage may vary. 2 Price shown is MSRP. 895 destination and delivery fee. Excludes taxes, title, license, other local fees and optional equipment. Actual price set by retailer. On the V8, overheating can often be traced to a failed head gasket or, worse, cylinder liners, the latter almost certainly uneconomic to repair. Check the condition of the injectors and smell for fuel on the dipstick caused by failed injector seals. 鈻?Electrics: Make sure the ABS, traction control and hill descent control lights go out after start-up. If they stay on, it could point to problems with the Slabs system. To get around the lights issue, some crooked sellers disconnect them so check they come on at start-up, too. 鈻?Brakes, suspension and wheels: Inspect the steel brake pipes for corrosion. Where fitted, check the self-levelling suspension works. The air bags are at the back, with coils at the front. A loud roaring noise at speed could be failing front wheel bearings. 鈻?Chassis and body: The steel chassis rots out, especially at the rear. The chassis legs suffer worst and a bad vehicle might need a new quarter chassis welded in. Check the rear of the body and underside for signs of damage. 拢750-拢1499: Tatty runners that could cost you dearly. 拢1500-拢2999: Popular price point offering some bargains but get it inspected. 拢3000-拢4499: Good runners start here but watch for overpriced money pits being sold by non-specialists. 拢4500-拢5999: Better cars with good histories, including a 68,000-mile 2002 4.0i ES auto with full service history. 拢6000-拢6995: The best cars, including a one-owner 2004 TD5 ES Premium seven-seater with full Land Rover service history, leather and Harman Kardon sound system for 拢6750. Land Rover Discovery 2 2.5 TD5 GS (seven seats), 2002/51-REG, 99,000 miles, 拢4250: Being sold by a Land Rover specialist and described as being in excellent condition. Has full service history and the later, 15P engine with improved cylinder head design.

In 1936 Elizabeth鈥檚 life took an unexpected turn when her grandfather King George V passed away, and his son became King. Edward VIII (above) decided within a year that he didn't want to Rule, and, to the shock of the whole Country, Edward gave up the throne to marry Wallis Simpson. This made way for Elizabeth鈥檚 father, George VI, to become King. In 1947 When Elizabeth was 21 years old, she married Philip Mountbatten, who was the great - great grandson of Queen Victoria, and son of Prince Andrew of Greece. They have been married now for over 64 years. This year The Queen and Prince Philip will celebrate their Diamond Jubilee. The remarkable thing about Queen Elizabeth鈥檚 reign, from the young age of 25, is that she is the first Monarch to experience the amazing amount of change throughout her Reign. No other King or Queen in history has actually come anywhere near to achieving the things that she has.
