The programme now encompasses 50 courses which are aimed at multiple levels of management within the organisation. It covers a wide spectrum of skills areas from soft skills such as Emotional Intelligence through to harder skills like Commercial Acumen or Financial Management. The emphasis for all courses is to have innovative and engaging methods of delivery, allowing people to learn by doing. Live training events (1 or 2-day courses) are fast paced, energetic and dynamic, designed to re-create situations managers find themselves in on a daily basis. This includes simulations, role play scenarios with actors as well as self-study toolkits including video content. The programme has been recognised in 2 leading industry awards. In 2014, Lane4 were awarded CIPD HR Supplier of the Year specifically for this work and in 2015 the programme was awarded a Bronze Brandon Hall HR Excellence Award in the 鈥楤est Results of a Learning Programme鈥?category.
Igloos are cool. You can easily build an milk jug igloo in your classroom with some planning, lots of milk jugs, and hot glue. For example, children at Midland Christian School in Midland, Michigan built the 428-jug igloo (shown above) after collecting and cleaning milk cartons for about three weeks. This medium-sized igloo is large enough to hold about 8 to 10 kindergardeners or first graders during free reading time鈥攁nd a principal fits in there too! 12 for 80 glue sticks. The milk jug igloo provides all sorts of opportunities for links to social studies, math, science and reading topics (many of which are listed below). A milk jug igloo is a great project for a classroom, nature center, library, Vacation Bible School, children's museum, daycare center, recycling center, or dozens of other places that seek to inspire children. Watch the following video to get a nice overview of the process. Then check out the sections below for resources to add to your unit on snow, seasons, winter, recycling, or other topics.
Opt for HSE, and Land Rover will throw in 40 more horsepower, making for 380 hp on that same V6. For those with speed in mind, there鈥檚 a supercharged 5.0-liter 8-cylinder with a substantial power bump: 518 hp and 461 lb-ft on Supercharged and Autobiography grades. And SVAutobiography Dynamic gets that V8, but with 557 hp and 516 lb-ft. Lastly, there is a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel, which Land Rover calls its 鈥淭d6鈥?engine. It delivers 254 hp and 443 lb-ft, nearly 600 miles of range between fill-ups, and can be fitted to Base or HSE. No matter how you equip it, every Range Rover benefits from all-wheel drive (AWD), an 8-speed automatic transmission, and plenty of off-road technology. Hill descent control and Terrain Response are standard; the latter offers different modes: Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud and Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl, to allow the SUV to maneuver on all sorts of terrain. Terrain Response 2, optional on some configurations, comes with a setting that lets the vehicle automatically decide which mode to use.
I realise they are well engineered and well made, yet they do not inspire me. They are overpriced, unattractively styled and lack character. Surely value and tasteful design are so important. The engineers obviously dominate the designers in Germany, and without a better balance between the two, they lack charisma. Italian Premium Brands: Both Maserati and Ferrari make beautiful cars which are also well made these days, despite some prancing horses catching fire recently. Of course the cost of ownership is outrageous and are strictly for the rich. Practical no, desirable yes. UK Brands: Only premium and sports brands are left now, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lotus and Morgan (with a few other small makers). They were always interesting but were let down by unreliability. Today they are much more dependable (due to foreign ownership), yet they have kept their style and class. Numerically small in production, but they are high in dollar value. I rate them highly but their premium nature puts them beyond what I could afford.
