The Frankfurt Motor Show is one of the biggest dates in the automotive calendar. This year鈥檚 show saw huge public debuts from Mercedes, Renault, Land Rover and Ford, as well as concept cars from BMW, Kia and Honda. But in amongst the glitz and glamour, a few cars (and planes, believe it or not) caught our eye. Here, we round up the best of the rest from the Frankfurt show. It wasn鈥檛 just road cars on show in Frankfurt, as AeroMobil showcased its updated flying car. The AeroMobil 4.0 is the brand鈥檚 third-generation prototype, and was first unveiled in Monaco earlier this year. 2 concept called Isabella. Brabus is famous for taking new Mercedes models and tuning them with extra power, performance and wild bodykits. Few people realise the brand has a long and illustrious history of restoring and improving classic cars, too, and we spotted a range of them on display in Frankfurt. The beautifully crafted cars stood out among the modern metal, but they were no less intriguing.
According to API this service category was introduced in 1987. It is now obsolete and has been replaced by service categories CF-4; CG-4 and CH-4. Oils with service category CG-4 and CH-4 will thus exceed the requirements of Land Rover. A question arises about the appropriateness to use diesel engine oil with service category CG-4 or CH-4 where a service category CD is prescribed. API has ensured me that the current service category can indeed be used in cases where an earlier or older service category has been prescribed. I personally would accept the service category CG-4 to be used in the 300Tdi engine. The only other problem is that according to the description of the service categories by API, all the current service categories give engine protection when diesel with a sulphur content of up to 0.5% is used. The ACEA has three engine oil categories. One for petrol engines (A1, A2 and A3), another for light duty diesel engines (B1,B2,B3 and B4) and one for heavy duty diesel engines (E2, E3, E4 and E5).
Mazda CX-7 聳 Mazda jumps in to the crossover craze with its attractive looking CX-7. As a five door hatch/SUV 聯hybrid聰 the five passenger CX-7 will be powered by a turbo charged 2.3L I4 engine producing a remarkable 244 h.p. Available in front or all wheel drive, the CX-7 combines the athletic look of a sports car with the look of a curvy SUV. Ford and Lincoln will also get versions of the vehicle. Suzuki SX-4 聳 One of the lesser known Japanese brands, Suzuki is attempting to get a bigger piece of the pie by introducing new and revised versions of its models to the North American market. The SX-4, a compact crossover vehicle, is Suzukis latest attempt to reach their goals. Available as either a front wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle, the five door SX-4 is powered by a 2.0L I4 and is aimed squarely at Subaru lovers. It is the opinion of this writer that Suzuki must work on styling first before success can be expected; mostly everything the automaker produces is quite bland.
