2019 Land Rover LR2 Review
The ride is excellent, maybe even exceptional. Our 400 hard miles with no stiffness or soreness attests to that. Way out in the country on a long straight road, we hit a series of deep long dips at 100 mph, and the LR2 stayed true, even when the front wheels got a bit light at the top, once. Land Rover says the LR2's monocoque structure is nearly twice as rigid as the competition (whomever that might be), and is exceeded by only the Porsche Cayenne. This airborne test was our way of finding out. Land Rover tested the LR2 on the 13-mile Nurburgring circuit in Germany, where the best and sportiest go for their development. Corner Brake Control (CBC) helped keep the rear end stable when we were braking in a corner. The all-wheel-drive system is exclusive to the LR2, and is as high-tech as anything else available, including from Land Rover. It's designed by Haldex, the leader in the field. The LR2 is a ground-up new model from Land Rover, and it's a technological tour-de-force. It's the smallest and least expensive Land Rover, offering the most bang for the buck. It has a sensational new inline six-cylinder engine built by Volvo, and a smooth six-speed automatic transmission with obedient manual mode. The ride is beyond reproach in all conditions, the cornering is superior for an SUV, the brakes are huge, and the off-road capability is typically Land Rover. The safety structure breaks new ground, with ultra-high-strength steel, crumple zones, seven airbags and electronic safeguards galore.
What Do We Know So Far? Once the new 2020 Land Rover vehicles were spotted in the Rocky Mountains, the interest about the new JLR lineup has been growing exponentially. The more rounded front and rear design reflect the design decisions made in manufacturing the latest JLR SUVs. The front and rear of the 2020 Land Rover Defender will be similar to the Range Rover Velar and Evoque. JLR doesn鈥檛 want to release the lineup, not until all the tests have been completed. The upcoming Defender will undergo more than 40,000 durability tests. The testers have been exposing the vehicle to the harsh conditions of searing deserts, as well as the chilling Arctic. Of all the premium JLR driving technologies, the All-Terrain Progress Control System will most definitely end up in the 2020 Defender. We are waiting for the 2020 Defender debut with great anticipation. The changes made to the exterior design, premium durability approach, and several Defender vehicles in the 2020 series will definitely turn the tides in favour of JLR on the world鈥檚 SUV market.

Summary: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling one 2017 Land Rover Range Rover vehicle. A bolt used to attach the high pressure fuel pump may be too long. As a result, the fuel pump may not be properly secured and the fuel line may crack and leak. Consequence: A fuel line crack may leak fuel into the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire. Remedy: Land Rover will notify the owner, and a dealer will replace both fuel pumps and the associated fuel lines, free of charge. Summary: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicles and 2016-2017 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The affected vehicles have seatbelt pretensioners that may not function properly in the event of a crash. Consequence: If the front seat seatbelt pretensioners do not function properly, the seat occupants may not be adequately restrained in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front seat belt assemblies, replacing them as necessary, free of charge.

That could be potentially not great, if a person reaches around to get something and accidentally bumps the shifter into any number of gears. The recall from Ford is to check which Rangers might be affected by the issue, and Ford said it鈥檚 not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue. The recall affects about 3,500 trucks, with 3,000 in the U.S. Recalls, as you can see, are important. Go get them done.
